Harbor Court Hotel earns high marks for its cleanliness, with a majority of guests commending the spotless rooms and well-maintained facilities, despite a few mentions of the need for cleaner air vents. While some visitors find the rooms a bit on the smaller side and the breakfast offerings basic, the hotel's location is often celebrated for its convenience, nestled close to a plethora of attractions and dining options. The ambiance is frequently described as inviting, with an elegant decor that enhances the experience. Although there are occasional comments about extra fees and room noise, the staff's excellent service helps offset these concerns, making Harbor Court Hotel a popular choice among travelers.

This charming little hotel (once owned by the Kimpton brand is now independently owned) is docked right near the water. The lobby had cozy and comfortable vibe with coffee/tea available in the morning. The room I stayed in had an a spectacular view of the Bay Bridge and Ferry Building.
I arrived to a few people ahead of me but Tony who was managing the front at time seemed to address and resolve each case quickly. He was prompt, courteous and professional. It wasn't long before I was handed my keys and scurried to my room after a long day.
I liked the quirky and nautical theme of the room plus everything was clean and organized. The bathroom was well-stocked with toiletries, towels and luxe bath products. The a/c vents might need a little cleaning as I awoke to some sense of it. Overall, an amazing stay and would come back to stay, again!

I stayed in a queen bed room. It was a small, tight space but maneuverable for one person and since I only had a carry on. The bed was super soft and cozy and extremely well put together (we own a 5-star rental condo unit in a prime city and had to teach my cleaning crew the proper way to fold the sheets for people expecting to stay in a five-star hotel). It was clean and the front desk staff was very courteous and helpful, no matter what time of day I called downstairs for something (8pm or 5am). The hotel is also a great location, across the street from the Bay Bridge and 5 min walk to the Ferry Building market and shops. If you are a coffee lover and enjoy healthy breakfast wraps or egg sandwiches, there is a Starbucks 2 blocks away, however I would highly recommend Sweet Joanna’s Cafe. I had a loaded veggie breakfast wrap with all the veggies, large coffee latte with almond milk and a coconut water for $24 with tip. Coffee is $3-$4. Breakfast was fresh, fast and delicious.

I lived in San Francisco, for many, many years, before retiring elsewhere, so have long been familiar with the many hotel options in the City. I’ve stayed at many of them, when visiting over the last few years, but wanted to try a “new neighborhood” this time. It was delightful.

The location couldn’t be better. Right at the waterfront, the neighborhood is full of spectacular new buildings, even though the Harbor Court is in an historic one, and the area is vibrant, with tons of friendly folks walking dogs, jogging and having a good time. The area is full of bustling restaurants. The views are legendary.

The hotel itself, a boutique-style one, is charming. The lobby, where complimentary breakfast and evening wine are served, is warm and cozy and a great place to strike up conversations with other visitors. Many of the clientele seemed to be European tourists.

Rooms are on the smaller side, but spotlessly clean, comfortable, modern, and well equipped. (There are plenty of charge outlets.) The rooms are very quiet, too.

Staff were wonderfully friendly and accommodating. I traveled with my Labradoodle and they made my guy feel very welcome indeed, even remembering his name every time we came through the lobby. (There is a great dog friendly parklet right across the street, btw). Like most places, there is a pet fee, but it was actually a little less onerous than at some other venues.

Valet parking worked well and was priced much as it is elsewhere. Unlike some other hotels, however, they allow in-and-out privileges, which can be quite handy.

My only disappointment is that I saw no evidence of a bellman. It would have been nice to have had some assistance with my luggage, since there are stairs from the auto entrance and I was trying to juggle a dog at the same time. Sadly, this amenity, though, appears to be disappearing from the hotel scene everywhere.

We had a great stay and will be back!

2 nights in this hotel. Great location to access the seaside, the tram line F passes right next door. Room correct but small, bathroom very good. The room "Waterfront" gives a beautiful view of the bay.
Breakfast very simple, and basic (coffee, tea, muffin ....).
The Wine snack in the evening is very limited: 1 type of red, 1 type of white.
Staff not necessarily warm, but "they do the job".

I would strongly recommend finding another place, this hotel is not worth the money, or money in general. I had ordered a room with a City View, which at this hotel means that you are looking at the A/C vents (see pictures). I did not expect a view of the Bay Bridge, but I certainly don't see why I should pay extra for looking at the Hotel's A/Cs. By check-in I asked them to extend my stay by another night due to unforeseen circumstances (happens to all of us) and they told me that I would have to move room, which I, of course, did not agree to. I tried to fix it with other employees in the reception the day after, and each and every person I spoke with in the reception thought it was 100% OK that I would have to move room. I ended up packing all my stuff Wednesday morning and went down to the reception to change room, only then did someone tell me that I could stay in my room. There was zero willingness to try to solve my problem, as no one even saw it as a problem. This is a deep misunderstanding of guest expectations and experience, and these people shouldn't be in the HOSPITALITY business. I should add that there were conferences in the city that week so I paid way above $600 per night for this room.

Hotel is well located but there’s room for improvement. Staff is friendly, breakfast is continental but pretty poor with just bananas and apples, some muffins, coffee and tea, yogurt and bottled juice. There’s not actually a breakfast area for you to eat and you should find what is more convenient for you. If this is enough for you to start the day, you’ll be fine.
The room I got as a 1st time visitor was pretty bad facing the internal area which also comes with constant noise from the AC machines and all that stuff. The bed was pretty comfortable but the cleanness should improve. I’m a pretty allergic person and I couldn’t stop sneezing and when I looked on top of the TV I could find the reason why. The dust here was the same over the wardrobe, besides some previous guests hair in different places of the bathroom.

I wish I could say I would stay in this hotel but I’ll try to find another one for my next visit.

Thank you for sharing your experience with us. We’re pleased to hear you found our staff friendly and appreciated our convenient location. However, we’re genuinely sorry to learn that certain aspects of your stay did not meet your expectations. We value your comments on our breakfast offerings and understand how a designated space and more variety could improve your morning routine. We’re currently assessing our breakfast setup to provide a more satisfying experience for our guests. We’re also concerned to hear about the noise from the internal area and the cleanliness issues in your room. Your feedback has been shared with our housekeeping and maintenance teams, and we are working to address these matters promptly. A comfortable and clean environment is of utmost importance, especially for guests with sensitivities, and we apologize that we didn’t meet this standard during your stay. Thank you again for your valuable feedback. We hope you’ll consider giving us another chance to make your next stay more enjoyable.

This hotel is perfect for those who want to stay out of the hustle and bustle of downtown but also have the ability to walk anywhere that is worthwhile. The hotel decor is great, the free bicycles available for riding around the city (including the nice safe bike lane up Embarcadero) were a nice touch. Just beware that the hotel is shaped like U so that half of the rooms face in toward each other (maybe 30’ separation). The city view rooms do get quite a bit of noise from the hvac on the adjacent roof. A bay view room would be best, an interior view room if noise is a concern, city view if value and view are your priorities. Rooms are on the small side, adequate for two but the excellent decor makes it a place I would return to.

Aside from being a 5-10 minute walk from the Embarcadero, my recent stay was excellent, largely thanks to the outstanding service provided by their wait staff. While I didn't catch their names (I was always in and out), both individuals went above and beyond to ensure I felt welcome and well-cared for. I especially remember the lady with the vibrant red/orange highlights and the young, stylish gentleman with the cool, modern take on a mullet – they were both fantastic! Please extend my sincere thanks and commendations to them both. The hotel itself was lovely, offering comfortable accommodations and a convenient location, but it was the genuine hospitality and attentiveness of the staff that truly made my stay memorable. I highly recommend Harbor Court Hotel to anyone visiting San Francisco!
