Reserved a king room with a tub for my wife. Received a queen room with no tub. I called the desk immediately and frequently and no one would answer. Upon checking out the desk clerk was out for lunch. Ridiculous!
Clean, updated room. Staff that was super helpful and friendly. Would stay again. Parking garage is literally next door. Double beds are a little small for two adults but make sense in the room size. Stayed two nights with two adults and two kids so room size was doable for short stay and being out of the room most of the time. Linens and towels were nice quality.
Hotel accommodations were great. Hotel elevator wait was practically seconds...amazing, considering 17 floors. Walking distance to the heart of downtown. Variety of local eating establishments nearby. i would definitely stay on my next visit.
My husband and I were both incredibly disappointed about the quality of Hotel Spero's customer service. We are both small business owners and have stayed at numerous hotels in San Francisco over the years and have never had difficulty like we did yesterday which resulted in us having to leave San Francisco and come back to Napa. We were there trying to celebrate our 23rd wedding anniversary with a two night stay there. Sadly, we arrived at Hotel Spero at 5:30pm only to find that the hotel had double booked our room and the One Bedroom Suite we had booked and had CONFIRMATION for was occupied … Please note that there was also no parking in the designated lot and we were left to “just go find something”. The gentleman at the desk was not apologetic nor did he really make any attempts to address the issue. We tried to be flexible as this was a special occasion for us and we were excited to celebrate together; however, after they downgraded us into what did not look like a suite at all, we went up there with all our stuff only to find that the room appeared occupied and was UNCLEANED (bed unmade, trash all around)! We then went back down to the hotel lobby and asked for assistance only to have a manager come out after waiting 20-25 minutes who told us that our only option was to wait for them to clean a room for us and that they could not give us the room we had originally booked. She made no attempts to make it “right” other than to say she would waive the $20 upgrade fee for the next night. Had she been apologetic or made any attempts to see the error on the hotels part we would have felt a little better, but given the situation we felt we had no other option but to leave. Lastly, just to say something positive, the gentleman who indicated he was Security at the front was very helpful in getting our bags unloaded onto the bell cart and LOADED again and was very empathetic and kind! Sadly, I would not recommend staying at this hotel given that there are so many other options in San Francisco!…
Overall decent hotel. Surrounding areas one should be vigilant and proceed with caution. As you walk around you will be able to notice the disparities within the same area. But the experience was good for the most part. Will recommend to others.
