I am an Event Planner in Dina's Deluxe Events and I chose a venue in Intercontinental for our client to host a high-end event. The venue is spacious, modern, airy and clean. It included an indoor and an outdoor spaces. When our team arrived to set up the event, Sergio, the Event Director met us personally at the unloading dock and then sent his team to help us unload and deliver all rentals, decor and desserts to the venue on the 6th floor using functional multi shelved carts. We set up the event on time together with the staff of Intercontinental. The venue provided delicious and fresh catering, a beautiful bar and a bartender and professional service during the event. We are so happy we chose this venue for our client and our client is also very thankful for all the wonderful amenities and services we received. Our event was a success thanks to Sergio and his team and Intercontinental! Thank you!

Hotel's Favorite
We stayed at this lovely hotel from mid November 2020 to mid January 2021. We got a very large corner suite with a great view on a high floor. The hospitality we experienced was outstanding! It all began with the Assistant Front Office Manager, Mr. Eli Padayhag, who processed our reservation. Eli is the most professional and courteous hotel employee I have ever met in all my travels around the world. His team, led by the Front Office Manager, Mr. Jose Pineda, brought a smile to the face of my family, even when COVID was at its peak in California. Caitlin Crable at the Front Desk is an angel who gave my toddler cute little gifts each week! Kae Chaivisuth at the Reception suggested many child friendly places to visit and guided us where to get our COVID tests (that were required by the airline prior to boarding). Bill Sutton, a super efficient Gold Key Conceirge got us tickets for the ferry and any reservations we needed. Bobby Imperial, in charge of the Bell Desk, greeted us each day and got our packages delivered to our room. Snow Huynh gave us great directions and helped move our luggage very efficiently. Other employees that made our stay special were Dorian Estela and JD Norris. The Housekeeping at the hotel was very good and accommodating. I would highly recommend this hotel 😊 It has a great location and one can walk to many great spots from it. The employees have a very customer-centric service culture that makes a difference that matters.

Before our arrival, I sent a note to the hotel to ask some questions. Here is the response I received from Mr. Pineda about the club lounge: "My apologies for the delay in your initial inquiry. The Club InterContinental is currently closed and will not be available until end of this year/beginning of next year". That was my primary concern since I originally booked a Club InterContinental room but changed to another room once I received an IHG promotion. I would not have been happy if I had paid extra for a room with lounge access to find that there was no open lounge to access!! The system should not allow such a booking, if not available?? We arrived about 3 pm after a short (.4 mile) walk on mostly flat 5th Street from Market St. (Powell Station) after our arrival there via BART from the airport. We were warmly welcomed by Kelly and checked in very quickly and professionally. She said that I had received welcome points, and I saw them in my IHG account when I looked a few minutes later once in my room. Due to my status, we were upgraded to corner view room #2519. I was given a sheet welcoming me and telling me about the limitations, restrictions, etc. for the current safety and health of all guests. Most didn't apply to me since I didn't have a car, don't use the minibar unless I want to chill something, and wasn't planning to eat at the hotel. The bold warning about proof of vaccination was never enforced on us; it was mostly based on the honor system even in the bar area. As an IHG Ambassador, I receive a food and beverage credit per stay so we stopped by the bar when we returned from dinner at Mathilde's French restaurant about 2 blocks away on 5th street to have cocktails and wine. Kelly had given me coupons for 2 free drinks at check-in so we planned to have our free drinks and then another round to use the credit. I have to say that their liquor choices, even the house ones, are top notch. We took most of our 2nd round (me gin & tonic, other half white wine) back to the room. Our corner room on the 25th floor faced southeast. We could see part of the Bay Bridge, the highway leading up to it and the hills and valleys in the direction of the airport, which we could not see because of the land elevation. Our room was spotless and in great shape. Upon entry, one turned right to a bathroom with tub/sink combo, single sink vanity area, and toilet, of course! Going forward, there was a closet with safe, extra linens, iron and ironing board, hangers, and luggage stand. Left and then right, the main part of the room was a decent size with bed, desk, dresser area with TV on top, and a bed width stool at end of bed for luggage, shoes, etc. The bed was a little soft for me, but the pillows were great. There were ample towels and sufficient, quality bath supplies. The tub was old style but long enough for a good, relaxing soaking bath. It was a great upgraded corner room, especially since I used my Ambassador night promotion. In conclusion, I would stay here again, but the shortcomings are mostly about the area not the hotel. It is not in the best part of town, but we never felt unsafe even though there were several street people. The staff that we encountered were all professional and well trained. At check-out, I was dealing with a new employee who didn't know how to process my Ambassador stay credit, and he immediately called over a manager who processed it very quickly and trained him as well. Great customer service and top notch training. I am giving a 4 mainly because of the local area, but once inside, the hotel is a modern, welcoming, and clean in most every aspect. I highly recommend if you like this part of San Francisco.

Great hotel, clean updated room, exceptional staff that was truly helpful at every turn. Crowded Giants Baseball evening but the hotel seemed to take it all in well. The hotel was overall clean and well done. Water bottle fill up in the workout room. Great stay, family was happy. But bogus expensive charge for Parking Valet that we never used since it was full upon arrival. We already found other parking in a nearby lot for super cheap using SpotHero app. Don't park in street overnight as broken window glass is everywhere. We never used Valet Parking, yet we were charged for it! We called and they claimed it was an honest "error" and removed the charge, but it was never credited! A month later still trying to get refunded. Next stop the credit card company will have to deal with this hotel scam.

Everything about the property was great and clean. Staff service was friendly and professional. Exactly what you would expect when you book. Location was okay, but can be a little sketchy at night. I had been through SF before but never stayed in the city, so I relied on the travel sites. Presumably you will be walking everywhere and it is close to all the main street cars and cable cars (about a two block walk). The one hitch is at night the area may not be family-friendly or for those with an overactive spidey sense. Nothing bad happened, it just may be a little scary for some.
