Detailed Reviews

I stayed here for a week for business. The hotel doorway can be hard to miss, but once you check in, the rooms upstairs are traditional style hotel rooms that mimic Marriott or Sheraton. This hotel is right next to the Chinatown gate, and was extremely walkable to the financial district, restaurants, coffee shops, bus lines, the Bart, and clothing stores. As a female solo traveler I felt safe, and the front desk is manned 24 hours a day. This is an extremely eco-friendly hotel; meaning they do not change the towels every day unless you ask, and there's places to fill up reusable water bottles, not give out free water bottles or random amenities. I had a king bed and it was extremely comfortable. Rooms were on the smaller size, but the bathroom was very large. Best for singles or two people traveling, not large families.
Everything was clean, safe, easy to contact the front desk for an early or late check in/check out, and most people were there for business. There's a breakfast restaurant in the lobby but I didn't use it. The price per night wasn't expensive to me because I live in a city, but I can see someone from a smaller town thinking it's high for what you get, but it's comparable to traditional brands in the neighborhood. Easy to get Ubers to and from the airport, and check out was simple.

Located in downtown San Francisco, the hotel is close to a train station with very helpful staff. However, I was offered early check-in on payment and not gratis, which I did not accept. As is the norm, they accepted my luggage and permitted me use of the restroom, gym until check in which was allowed an hour prior to official time of 1500 hrs. The accommodation was quite spacious , I would say for SFO. Another plus point was availability of water and restriction of plastics as one could easily collect water from a designated place. Gym can do with improvement. The gentleman on duty at check out time was very helpful and deserves both kudos and thanks.

Dear mnmishra, Many thanks for staying with us. We appreciate your excellent rating and compliments for our team! I am glad that we were able to accommodate an early check-in as soon as soon as your room was ready. I apologize that sometimes when we are sold out our options to offer a very early check-in are limited and we might only have a higher room category available early in the day. Thank you very much for your understanding. I hope we will have the pleasure of welcoming you back in the future! Best wishes, Klaus Atzmueller General Manager

Very happy with this wonderful boutique hotel, in a central location, we had breakfast every morning in the hotel, and it was tasty, and plentiful. Our room was spacious, quiet and immaculate. Distilled water was available, which we used with the coffee machine, in the room. And did I mention the comfort of the bed? I wanted to bring the mattress and duvet with me back to my home (but sadly, it wouldn't fit in my luggage).

Excellent hotel. Quiet and attentive service. We stayed for 5 nights. Since we received a 15% discount for an extended stay we put our savings into an upgraded room with a huge window view of the buildings, lights and street. Room 808. How much luckier could we get? We definitely would stay again. Convenient to walking and all public transport.

We were in San Francisco from our home in the North Bay for an overnight, to visit with family staying in this hotel. There was a reservation mixup at the hotel where we were originally going to stay and they could not accommodate us, so I contacted Orchard Garden Hotel and happily, they still had rooms remaining. We were impressed with the cleanliness and comfort of our room. The bed was soft yet supportive, and the shower spacious with good water pressure; a grab bar would be nice, however. The mini fridge was put to use for our leftovers from dinner. The room was nice and quiet; there are double pane windows and I could not hear any street noise. Service was outstanding; I was contacted via text shortly after check-in to see if we needed anything and I asked for, and quickly received, extra coffee pods for the Keurig machine.
The location, very near the Grant Avenue gate to Chinatown, cannot be beat for those wishing to explore that area and the Union Square area of San Francisco. There are a number of restaurants close by. I highly recommend this hotel.

The hotel is well located, not too far from the BART for getting to / from airport and walking distance (15 mins) to North Beach where there are plenty of good food options. For other areas such as the Piers/Marina/Bridge etc, plenty of bus options.
The hotel itself is very pleasant
inside, the room was a good size (compared to European rooms) and were very quiet at night which was great- ours was on the back so no view but that’s fine. Good sized bathroom and a warm shower, albeit not a super powerful one.
Hotel makes a big thing around eco credentials and it is clear to see their commitment to that in terms of water filling stations, no plastic bottles in rooms, etc. There was a coffee machine in the room and also tea bags (but no kettle?!).
We didn’t have any food here- the restaurant in the hotel wasn’t open in the evenings but plenty of options nearby. Breakfast wise, there are 3 starbucks within about a 5 minute walk (2 within 200m).
In terms of the area, walking back through Chinatown from North Beach felt safe enough in the evenings and the area was fine in the daytime. In the evenings though to the other side (past all the fancy shops) down to Market Street was a bit of a different experience and i’d probably avoid that area on foot at night next time - the city has a real problem with troubled homeless people which can be pretty intimidating but no trouble at all around the hotel which felt safe.

Dear mso1903, Thanks very much for staying with us and for taking time to share this five star review, for which we are very grateful. I am glad you enjoyed our peaceful ambience, spacious rooms and amenities, and do hope you were able to have a kettle delivered to your room, we always have them available by calling the Front Desk. We have stayed at both the Orchard Hotel and the Orchard Garden Hotel. Both were very nice experiences. The Orchard Garden Hotel was the one I am reviewing today. It is very quaint and beyond clean! We enjoyed our stay and would probably not stay anywhere else when returning to SF. Beds are very comfortable, clean and the rooms were a good size. We even received a good recommendation for Chinese food in the area, which we greatly appreciated because there were too many to choose from. The hotel is right next to the China Gate entrance to China Town. Thank you to your staff for a wonderful 3-night stay.
My only suggestion would be to put water filtering stations on same floors with ice machines. Every time we would need these, we had to go to 2 different floors to get them, as none were on the 3rd floor. Was just a nuisance, not a deal breaker.

Had a great two night stay. Spacious, clean and functional room and the Reception staff we encountered were all friendly and helpful. Breakfast was a bit pricey for us so we went to Starbucks across the road both mornings, bringing it back to eat on the hotels roof terrace with views across the city.

We changed hotels last minute to Orchard Garden and will be staying here for all future trips. The location is perfect -it is a few blocks to transportation or the sites you will want to see, while still being very quiet inside. The staff were lovely and the rooms were great.

Had a great time at the Orchard Garden Hotel. It's quiet and the staff is attentive and kind. I hadn't realized when I booked the king suite, that the entire hotel is eco-friendly. They have purified water stations and provide a pitcher to refill as often as you need. This is the my most hydrated trip to San Francisco to date. Speaking of water, the water pressure in the shower was perfect. Also, the room's power is turned completely on and off when you leave with your key card. It's really nice to see such an environmentally conscious hotel. I used the rooftop garden to relax a bit, it is a wonderfully peaceful vantage point. I only used the breakfast restaurant one time, but the service was wonderful and my food was delicious.
They offer parking less than a block away. Self-park in a secure garage. If you're bringing a car out to the city, they have 24 hour and 48 hour passed for sure. $38/day. Also know as, much lower than any hotels I'd seen before. It was a major bonus!
I will be staying here again in the future!

I'm sorry, I did not go to the gym area. I would recommend calling the hotel to find out.
Booked the hotel for next year, has anyone used the parking facility?
Would be useful to know
Thanks
We paid $55.00 per night through hotel. There were garages nearby that you could look at for a cheaper rate.
You should be okay. I'm in commercial construction, and there's not much happening between Christmas and New year's
