Yikes! Paper thin walls... To the point where we could hear normal volume conversations in adjacent rooms. Also, we were facing the street and heard music from a restaurant/bar until 11:00pm. An interior room would have been better. We called about switching rooms but were told there wasn't one in the interior available. There were bed bug traps on the mattress protector zippers. Maybe it's comforting that they're keeping an eye out? I found it to be disgusting and tacky to come across them. I usually do a quick check when I get into hotel rooms and was shocked to see them. Our mattress protectors had major black sharpe markings. There was actual writing in sharpe (room numbers and smiley faces?), so I didn't think it was bedbug frass. Our room smelled clean, and was decently clean, but there were a few spots overlooked and dirty. ... Example: above the door in the bathroom was covered in hair. Everyone in our group whacked their leg or toe on the beds/furniture at least once. One managed to ding up their shin really good. The rooms are extremely cramped and the bed frames are low to the ground and bulky. Watch out, they'll get ya! No desk or work space in any of the rooms we occupied, but I honestly don't know where they'd go! The lobby was very classy, but the bar/restaurant/etc. weren't open. We were told they've been closed since Covid. The valet drivers were extremely kind. Plan on waiting around 20 minutes to have your car brought up though... One way streets and traffic are the culprit. Staff was very helpful on restaurant recommendations. Tad's was a hit for dinner. This part of SF has been overtaken by homeless. It's rough. Our group stayed here after a Giants day game and walked to the hotel... It was 1.5 miles. Easy walk, but I wouldn't want to do it after dark or without a group of people during the day. We weren't threatened, but were awkwardly approached several times on the walk and very close to the hotel. We'll look elsewhere next time. Lots of red flags in the reviews that we should have heeded.

I highly suggest not staying at the Fusion hotel. It appears they heavily renovated the lobby but that’s about it—rooms are very old and dilapidated. My hotel room heater was broken and maintenance couldn’t fix it; there was a foul chemical smell; there was mold/dirt stains on the tiles. The mattress was old and not comfortable. Lack of manager on site (late afternoon) and clueless front desk staff (John and Tyler) would not allow room change. Furthermore, there are no restaurant food/beverages services on site. The bar downstairs is vacant with no plans to reopen.

I visited with my 14yo son. Great location, couldn’t fault it. The staff weee super helpful and Informative. The bar and restaurant are shut, which was a very minor inconvenience, as there is lots of bars and eating places nearby. The pool table in the foyer made my sons holiday!

This is a budget friendly hotel and it is conveniently located at Ellis Street (Downtown), a few minutes walk away from metro, tram and cable cars. We are very satisfied with the place because it is clean and quiet with complete amenities. There are very good restaurants near the area (diners, thai, chinese). I recommend people to stay here if they are mostly outside on tour and just wants a place to rest by the end of the day.

This is a really nice hotel, ideally located for accessing public transit or walking around downtown. After a long journey, it's nice to be welcomed by a smiling face and a fresh cup of coffee in the expansive lobby. The hotel has been updated, our accommodation was clean, quiet, comfortable and the WiFi worked well. The bar and cafe were not yet operational but when they are, it will enhance the establishment even more. Our stay at this hotel was a thoroughly pleasant experience.

Stayed here for three nights and had a good time. The hotel lobby is very modern, while the rooms are comfortable and clean, but in a more traditional design. The size was good as well, as we got a room with a double and a single bed. Our room was clean, the only downside was that the rooms are not quite sound proof. The location near Powell Metro Station is great, you can easily explore San Francisco by foot and public transportation from here. We also tried their gym, which has a couple of modern cardio machines and bar-bells. We were satisfies with our stay here.

Stayed for a long weekend with my husband (both in our 30s) in October. First and foremost, Fusion hotel is in a perfect location. We took the BART from the airport to Union Square and the hotel is about a 4 minute walk from the station. The transport system in San Francisco is great so you really can get to most places in the city from the stop. The street cart also comes from just outside the hotel and then a few minutes walk in the other direction to the actual Square, you will find buses all over the city too. Fusion Hotel is surrounded by great shops, and places to grab a coffee, we never ate in this area so can’t comment on places to eat near the hotel. Now to the hotel it’s self. Check in was smooth, we arrived late on a Friday evening and the lady on reception was helpful and friendly. The lobby is very large and a lot newer than the rest of the hotel and was always spotlessly clean as were the hallways. When you get to your room you feel like you are in a different hotel! The rooms are very dated. The air conditioning unit was so loud it sounded like a plane was taking off so you could not have this on at night. Our room had no view at all, just a small court yard, but we were never in our room enough that long to care. Despite the out dated room decor, I have to say that the rooms have everything you need! We had a fridge, good space to hang clothes, iron, ironing board, safe, big mirror and dressing table and the bed was very comfy. I never use hotel shampoo and conditioners but the ones that Fusion hotel provided where actually amazing! Fusion hotel is a no thrills on the decor hotel but really does have everything you need and the perfect location for your trip to San Fran. I would stay again.

Hotel was fine but having major trouble a month later getting deposit back. Didn't want my card charged to begin with now despite many requests no refund has been made. Beware, book elsewhere. Powell Street also has a serious problem with vagrants totally out of it on Fentanyol. You are left alone but scary for many I imagine.
