If you like listening to what sounds like a herd of elephants stomping above you all night long, then you will love this place. We got almost no sleep, even when using the included earplugs, and decided to check out after the first night of a two-night stay. We checked out on time and kindly explained our reasoning to the front desk, who then still insisted on charging us for the second night. We had no issue paying for the night we did stay, despite getting almost no sleep, but to then force us to pay for a second night is not acceptable at all. In thousands of nights in hotels, this is the first time I have ever encountered such a thing. Besides that, be aware that the rooms have no amenities other than a TV. There isn't even a coffee maker in the room. You are also read a long list of rules at check-in as though you are a child. I am not sure why this property has good reviews on some other sites. There are much better places to stay in the immediate area for the same or lower rates.…
I spent a night here at a private room, amenities are very limited. I was thinking to chat a bit more in my room with 2 coworkers after a nice dinner at the Brazen Head Restaurant nearby. we were refused. I had a little different opinions since it is not a shared room, then the receptionist showed me the little form I signed when checking in, I told them the term should be shown when I was booking the hostel, not when checking in. I was also told if I cannot lower my voice then they have to check me out, I quickly booked a 3.5 star hotel nearby at similar rate and moved myself out. The receptionist was standing by and watching me closely when I was packing my personal stuffs. Hostel is good for young folks maybe, but not for business travelers at all. And that attitude of the receptionist is definitely not okay in hospitality industry.…
Staff at the hostel are friendly & respond very quickly to questions if booking through AirBnb. The place is a great jump off if you want see the wharf (15-20 min walk), close to Ghirardelli, 4 blocks away from the curvy part of Lombard, and grants easy access to the cable cars. Other sites were close via short 10-15 min drives (Japantown, the Disney Museum, the Golden Gate Bridge). They have onsite parking (which is comforting since the city seems to have a problem with people breaking into cars). They provide clean rooms and a comfy bed. If need be, there is a shared refrigerator in the lobby area with stickers available so you can label your stuff. I believe there are dorm style rooms available with a shared bathroom area, but we opted for a private room with a private bath. Unfortunately no breakfast since we're living in the time of COVID (totally understandable!) - otherwise really a wonderful stay!…
Located in a very safe area of SF yet very closed by all the important landmarks. The hotel has been newly renovated, it even smelled new, with all the needed amenities for a stay such as towels, shampoo, conditioner and shower gel. The manager and the girls for reception have outstanding customer service skills. Check in and out process was super smooth and frustration free. Thank you!
