Room seemed a bit small for two beds, but the fundamentals were very good - beds comfortable and the shower had strong water pressure with an adjustable shower head and no problems with hot water. Location was great - we walked to Oracle Stadium for the Giants game (1+ miles) but we could have taken the Muni underground train. For the Cal game we took BART, which had a station a block away, adjacent to the Powell and Market Cable Car turntable. No restaurant in the hotel; two vending machines on the Mezzanine level. Big plus was a Keurig coffee maker in the room. $45/night for underground parking. Friendly staff. I've stayed in much nicer hotels in SF, but the location relative to the BART/Muni station made this hotel ideal for this trip. Would stay here again.

Our room was small but very comfortable, the bed was very clean & comfy.
The location is good for the the cable car, but very scary in the evening with all the homeless sleeping all over the pavement.
The staff we all very friendly & helpful
The parking in the basement was very useful & convenient.
The corridor floor needed hoovering, it always looked dirty.
The glass surface protector on the desk was loose & very dangerous.
Very small bathroom (room 724) we kept banging our head on the towel shelf every time we went to the loo.
The parking was over priced (45$) per night.

The Pickwick is conveniently located three blocks from the Moscone Center. Close enough that we could walk to the event but far enough away that people did not want to leave the Moscone Center to meet at an off site location. The cost during this event was 3 times their normal rate. After looking into alternatives we won't be back next year.

I was surprised how low was service for the money we paid to stay in hotel. Upon arrival we ware "greeted" from staff that was communicating with raised voice and did not helped us with luggage nor parking. Upon arrival two of staff members at the desk could not agree if our credit card is OK or not! The room was for renovation ready, and bathtub was all eroded and only fixed with some plastic cover. All in all, we have traveled thru USA 15 days and this is by far the worse hotel. Employee suggested to us to take hotel car or some car that hotel have some kind of contract with to take us to the airport and that should cost us 50$ fixed price for cash, and upon arrival at the airport driver took from us 65$ and on top of that wanted some tip! Since we had late flight for Europe we wanted to pay for the room until late in evening and for two hours they have charged us 50$!

Ok value for the money. Staff seems to be hit or miss, some staff is friendly and welcoming, others are bothered to have guests. We stayed twice because the first room we had was comfortable. The room had air conditioning, the bed was very comfortable, and it’s in a convenient location (can be sketchy sometimes). The rooms don’t have a thermostat to control the AC. The AC in our first room was on constantly, we couldn’t turn it off but we didn’t mind. The AC in our second room was broken; unfortunate for us as the room was stuffy and needed fresh air. Probably wouldn’t stay again.

This hotel needs a lot worked on. In all honesty, staying here was horrible and I will never do it again. This hotel is dirty and poorly managed. Walking into the room, you can see just how busted up the room is with torn apart crown molding and a broken door right in front of you. As I walked more inside, I noticed how it looked like no one had even tried to clean the room. The floors weren’t clean, I felt disgusted walking around without shoes on. Then ALL of the countertops had a layer of dust and dirt. I had to get my own cleaning product just to bring it to standard clean which I guess you’re hotel is incapable of doing. I wanted to push past all of this, but then when I went to go to bed, as soon as I moved over a pillow, bugs crawled out from under the sheets. This place is truly disgusting and I shouldn’t have paid that much for such horrible service. Not to mention to top it off, my car I got valeted had a NEW scratch on it that your staff couldn’t explain or apologize for. They just shrug. How am I supposed to trust this hotel at all, especially parking when I wake up in the morning to a huge black scrape on my bumper.

It was a perfect stay as the hotel location is easy access to many attraction areas by 5 - 15 minutes walk. For example, Macy, shopping center, convenient stores and delicious breakfast cafe (just next door of hotel.) I will choosed to stay here again in my next trip.

This hotel was clean and charming. It is located in a historic building in downtown San Francisco central to all of the tourist attractions. I stayed a week on a business trip. I found the front desk team to be very accommodating and helpful. Particularly Alfredo. He was very helpful on my last day there and kept my luggage safe all day after checkout so that I could go be a tourist without dragging my luggage everywhere! The beds were comfortable, and the room was just the right size. It had a fridge, no microwave, and a coffee pot. It had a full-size enamel tub and shower, which had really hot water every day, all week long. Great water pressure, too. This hotel was built in 1926 and opened in 1928. Central air conditioning was not available, and the hotel does not have it. Based on the climate in San Francisco, it is really not necessary. I kept the windows open and was quite comfortable day and night. I stayed on the 7th floor, and it was quiet. You could hear the water pipes in the wall in the bathroom, which I found charming. I love historic homes, and you'll typically have that in all of them. Overall, it is the best value for the money hands down. If you are on the fence about staying here, don't be! You will have a clean and comfortable room in a charming historic building with fantastic front desk service at a rate that can not be beat!.
