The staff was extremely helpful. Parking my car was such an easy process with their valet service. Joseph and Ayana were welcoming the moment I walked in. The lobby has a really hip vibe. The location is really close to union square. Definitely felt comfortable and clean; Will stay there again.

Everything was great Hotel wise. My only issue is that I used my bank account debt card to book the room. I payed cash at check out. They've been holding 439 dollars for over 2 days now and late fees for bills I had to pay after NYE are happening from this hold. Really sucks for people living paycheck to paycheck. Just a warning to folks that are poor like me. Don't book if you don't have a credit card. I'm paying big time for that stupid mistake.

The hotel was a little pricier than we would typically stay at, but knowing SF is a more expensive city, we expected that ahead of time. I had done some research on hotel location/pricing and this seemed like the best value.

We had a nice stay at the Tilden Hotel. You are in walking distance to many restaurants and shops. There is even a coffee shop and a bar/restaurant in the lobby so you wouldn't have to leave the hotel if you didn't want to. :) I saw that a few reviews have mentioned being in a bad neighborhood. I would say that you are nearby, but not quite in the bad area. There are some crazies going around the street but I didn't feel unsafe at the hotel. The staff was very accommodating & pleasant and the lobby had a cool atmosphere.

If you are driving, there is a parking garage diagonally across from the hotel that you can leave your car overnight.

I highly recommend the Tilden hotel. The staff are wonderful and extremely friendly and accommodating. They went over and above for me on several occasions during my stay, directions, booking Ubers and generally taking really good care of me as their guest. The location is superb, just minutes away from Union square. The room was clean, comfortable and we'll decorated. I would have no hesitation in recommending this hotel for your stay in San Francisco. You won't be disappointed.

We purchased rooms for this hotel on Travelzoo and were not sure what we would find. Well, the staff over our 5 day 4 night stay were exceptional. Thank you Tre, Ayana, Joseph and Mario. I even asked them as about their training. The rooms are lovely. Not large, but serviceable. The bathrooms are decorated circa 1950, which is cute.
The restaurant was good. I will definitely stay here again. And Union Squareis only 2 blocks away!

Stayed here for 6 nights while attending a trade show. The staff is friendly and very accommodating. I was impressed with the level of service. They have a nice breakfast with all items cooked to order. Tea and coffee complimentary throughout the day. Rooms are a good size for the single business traveler.

The Tilden is a nice boutique hotel in a very good location for the Trams and Cable cars and a short walk to Union Square.
The staff were very friendly and helpful for ideas on what to see and do and where to eat.
The room and the hotel was very clean and maintained, Lift was on the small size but we stayed on the 4th floor so used the stairs most of the time.
It was good value and handy for everything

The Hotel was nice. Beds could be larger, maybe a queen size would be better. The staff was very friendly and helpful. This place was close to everything. Parking was an issue and expensive if you use the hotels valet.

i made this reservation for feb17th to the 1st of feb we were n town for our anniversary and a concert, all though the staff is very nice and accomadaring especially the front door bell man jonathon, hes was the most nice and helpful, looks like he should be a pro fb player, but anyhow the wals are very thin you can litterally hear everything and i mean everything, it was disgusting, i felt for the 2 nights we got no sleep we should have recieved a discount, we left the maid a cash tip everyday to make our beds and change sheets, the restaurants that they advertise are not open they are still uder construction, the bathrooms are way too small no where to even put a hair brush no fridge microwave nothing, motel 6 has more ammenities, also they didnt explain to us the almost 50 dollar a day to park our car free valet no so we will be finding a best western next time, and the bed is hard as a rock, worst 4 days, i hope they see us, i felt they shouldve refunded us a night for no damn sleep listening to an orgy go on next door they allowed i was ready to call sfpd,, so hugely disappointed except for the door guy he was the bomb! and we come there every year

The surrounding area of Tilden (downtown) was not the best, however, the hotel was very nice and clean. Pub next door was amazing and the Thai restaurant next door had delicious food!

Hi, The Tilden is right downtown near Market Square. It is a small boutique hotel. Lovely! If you have a car, you will need to pay for public parking. There are many hotels near the wharf and pier. I would recommend looking for a more ‘family friendly’ hotel... perhaps with a pool and family amenities. The hotels away from downtown likely have free parking on the property. Fun area..lots of dining options and a short drive -15 minutes to downtown for shopping! I hope this helps! Let me know if you have any other questions. San Francisco is amazing and we will stay near the wharf and pier when we go next. Lisa

Our room only had a single bed. One chair and a TV stand. The elevator is very small, so that might be a hassle getting an infant up and down.
