Room was quite nice - particularly the complimentary AMEX Platinum upgrade from a Superior Suite to a Deluxe Suite - much appreciated. Excellent & convenient hotel location as well. However, the vents in room 726 were absolutely filthy (tons of clogged dust & particles visible to the naked eye). Room service breakfast the next morning was disappointing. Food arrived 2 hours late & quite cold. I had to call 3x to check in on the order), and the quality was mediocre & bland. Shocked to say, but there's probably a better hot breakfast at a Holiday Inn. Unsure if the lack of room service overall was due to COVID staffing issues, but found it a bit strange that I had to walk down to the Pied Piper, place a to-go order, and then trek back down to pick up my order to eat in my room. Would've preferred calling ahead & picking up, but was told that wasn't an option. The elevators are tiny - but should probably have some sort of capacity limit. I saw at least 6-8 people crammed into tiny elevators, and decided to take the stairs instead. Overall, would probably stay here again, but not with reduced services & general confusion.

Room Tip: Deluxe corner suites are far away from elevators & quiet. Highly recommend.

This is a such a beautiful property, and we really felt taken care of during our stay. From the gracious doormen, valet service and front desk staff, everyone delivered. The room was lovely (although the air conditioning was finicky and required turning down the temperature to 67 degrees to stay cool). The pool is a rare amenity among SF hotels and is lovely, there are all the expected amenities, and the place manages to feel classic and established, but fresh and “of today” as well, which is a challenge many historic properties have but this one pulls off with charm. Of course the garden court is the shining star of this property and is a must on any visit to San Francisco.

This hotel is beautiful and took such amazing care of us. The room was spacious (which was unexpected for SF) and truly luxurious! The bed was so comfortable and we loved all the shower products and layout of our space. Highly recommend this hotel for your stay.

During our 6 day visit, Every single staff member whom we encountered was exceptionally polite, friendly, and helpful. Scott, the wonderful gentleman who checked us in, soars even above them all. Unlike the other hotels we have visited on this trip that are still using the Covid excuse to skip all housekeeping services and other amenities, The Palace continues to provide all of the excellent services and amenities one would expect from such a fine establishment. When traveling to San Francisco in the past on business, I stayed in considerably more expensive hotels which were not as pleasing as The Palace. I wish to extend a warm thank you to all the staff and management for helping us to create a marvelous and memorable experience.

My family just spent 6 nights at this hotel, and we cannot recommend it highly enough! The hotel is beautiful but it is the service that puts it way over the top, especially during these difficult times. Everything is sparkling clean, and every employee is friendly and accommodating (and vaccinated!!!) A highlight of the trip came out of an initial disappointment - one member of our family is immune compromised and we are avoiding eating indoors near other people. We booked through American Express Fine Hotels and had a large food and beverage credit to be used in the hotel. Room service was not offered at night but there was a nice restaurant in the hotel, however we have not been eating in restaurants during the pandemic. When I went into the restaurant to ask if it was possible to use the credit another way, Phillip (I believe he is the food and beverage manager of the hotel) kindly offered to serve us in the Garden Court (which is used for breakfast, but is unused in the evening.) We had a most memorable and wonderful family dinner in grand isolation - we felt safe, well looked after, and the dinner was one of the highlights of our trip. Thank you Phillip, and thank you Palace Hotel!!!
