Experience Warm Hospitality at San Francisco's Union Street Inn. The Union Street Inn Bed and Breakfast combines the elegance and gentility of an Edwardian home. Rooms are spacious, airy and comfortable. Open your window and the fragrance of old roses, lavender, sage and rosemary wafts up from the romantic cottage garden - a delightful spot to enjoy an inviting breakfast or afternoon tea.
My husband and I absolutely loved staying at Union Street Inn. We felt welcomed from the start. The gardens are lush and beautiful. The rooms are colorful, eclectic, and very comfortable. Timm was a great host and made delicious breakfasts. I really appreciated his attention to my food sensitivities. When we return to San Francisco, we will stay here again. It's in a great location with excellent restaurants and sites within walking distance. My favorite part about our stay was Union Street Inn felt like a home away from home where people care about you.

The quintessential B&B. A backyard garden that is so peaceful, you want to sit for hours and relax over their delicious breakfasts. Who would believe that bustling Union Street was just outside, full of shops and great restaurants, and within striking distance of all that northern San Francisco has to offer. A nice walk to the Palace of Fine Arts Theatre, or take in an evening movie at the Presidio Theatre. The rooms/beds are comfortable, with recently redecorated bathrooms. The Wild Rose is our favorite room--extra quiet and spacious. We liked it so much, we came back a month later for another stay, and we'll be back again!

Second time to visit this quaint gem located in a great location in Cow Hollow. Our first visit was 15 years ago, and although our reunion introduced us to new(er) ownership, the experience was just as fabulous. The carriage house is as cozy as ever, and the English garden as beautiful. Shout out to Chuck for his warm welcome and conversation. It’s folks like him who make a B&B experience memorable and leave you planning your next stay.

I live a few blocks from the Union Street Inn and booked a room for my parents to stay in while they visited me for the weekend. They absolutely loved their stay and are already excited to return in a few months. The Inn is nestled on the quiet end of Union St, which keeps the rooms quite peaceful (as well as the beautiful backyard garden!) while still being a short walk from restaurants, shopping, and Presidio trails. Timm, the innkeeper who took care of my parents for most of their stay, was also a wonderful host. A longtime San Francisco resident, he made them feel very comfortable and cooked delicious breakfasts (fresh berries, French toast, vegetable omelettes, chicken sausage, raspberry muffins, and more). Timm was also kind enough to show them each of the inn's open rooms so they could decide which one they wanted to book next — the decor in each is uniquely curated, and all were lovely. Thank you for a wonderful stay, and we look forward to the next!…

Booked a long weekend for our family of three. Inn is well appointed and beautiful. The garden is magnificent and such a lovely place to drink your coffee in the morning. Our room was beautifully decorated and had everything we could need. By far our favorite part of staying at the inn was Timm, the fabulous innkeeper who makes the most amazing banana bread (seriously-best I’ve ever had). His warm welcome in the mornings and delicious breakfasts will certainly make us repeat visitors on future trips to San Francisco. The neighborhood is also very cute-lots of boutique shopping and unique restaurants to explore. Overall an amazing experience. Thanks Timm!!

My oldest daughter and I traveled to SF for her birthday, and we were happy to find ourselves at this inn, which we'd booked sight unseen. Cow Hollow is a great location - close enough to walk to Fort Mason and the Wharf, an easy Lyft ride to downtown and other neighborhoods. Our room overlooked Union Street, and was comfy enough for the two of us. Breakfast was delicious, the garden was beautiful and peaceful, and Timm was a warm and friendly host. Two issues made my rating four stars instead of five. One, the heating in our room could not be adjusted, and it was way too warm. We did open windows, but that still didn't help much. We tried adjusting the thermostat in the hallway, but all that did was freeze out some other guests (which we later apologized for). We know it's an old building, but the heating issue negatively impacted our sleep. The second issue is mobility - the stairs are steep, and there are many of them. Also, no elevator (because it's an old building.) While my daughter did fine, I found myself struggling a bit, given physical limitations and age. Our dear friends, one of whom is in a wheelchair, could not join us for a visit at the inn due to these issues, and instead, we met them out. Other than these concerns - all was wonderful! We especially enjoyed sitting in the salon reading books, listening to classical music, and feeling transported. SF is my favorite city, and I would certainly return to Union Street Inn to enjoy it.…

The Inn is really beautiful and incredibly welcoming. I was in town for work and having a nice cup of tea at the end of the day was so great. Also, breakfast is delicious- the staff is kind and so warm. If the weather permits, I encourage every visitor to visit the garden. Such an escape from the bustle of life.

We were warm and cozy during our stay during the chilly, rainy Christmas holiday. Our room, the New Yorker, was right off the living room so we could wander out for coffee in the morning before the other guests. The B &B is conveniently located in a safe neighborhood away from noisy Union Square and within walking distance to good restaurants and quality markets. Our room was spacious with a comfy queen bed, elegant furnishings and the most gorgeous red painted walls. Timm made us a homemade breakfast- eggs benedict, frittata, brie and spinach omelet. He even accommodated an early breakfast before our flight home. Helen was very flexible when we needed to secure another night's stay at the last minute. Look forward to coming back in the summer where we plan to sit in the lovely English garden.…

We just had our 3rd visit to the Union Street Inn. We absolutely love it there. The ambiance is amazing, the rooms are so comfortable and the location is perfect. Timm and Chuck are great hosts and it is so nice waking up to a delicious breakfast served in that beautiful room. Already looking forward to our next visit!
