Not only is the Primrose beautifully decorated with antiques and lovely gardens, I could eat GF without a worry. Having Celiac Disease limits what I can eat, but not at the Primrose. I felt spoiled and I never sick so everything was prepared without cross contamination. I can not say enough about the relaxing porches of rockers and even a swing...what a lovely experience!

We had a wonderful stay at the Primrose! Quiet, very clean room with an extremely comfortable (though high!) king bed. Jetted tub was put to good use as was the private porch. Breakfasts were very tasty and served efficiently and with friendly service. Staff was helpful on several occasions. Conveniently located, we never had to drive in Bar Harbor (a good thing!). Room could have used more seating.

This is our 4th stay at The Primrose in the last year and despite many lodging options in Bar Harbor, it’s our absolute favorite. The rooms are beautiful, the food at breakfast and tea time is what you’d expect in an upscale cafe and the Innkeeper Brandon is outstanding. Can’t wait to go back in the fall!!

My friends and I cannot rave highly enough about the staff and the service at the Primrose. Brandon, Sara and Juliana were always ready to help with whatever we needed, including a fresh pot of coffee for just us on a rainy day. It truly has the feel of an inn, not a hotel, with space to gather inside and out. Everything made us feel welcomed. The hand made breakfast and snacks every day were exceptional! For breakfast we were treated to delicious frittatas, quiche, chicken & waffles, and baked oatmeal, just to name a few. Every afternoon there was fresh baked cookies and cakes, something different every day. The location is also perfect, just a few blocks from the water and the people, but far enough for a peaceful stay. The flower beds were beautiful in July. We sat in rocking chairs on the porch watching the hummingbirds play. I would not stay anywhere else in Bat Harbor.

We stayed at The Primrose for 4 days/3 nights and it was perfect! The location is a short walk to the downtown shops, about 5-6 minutes. The breakfast served in the morning was delicious! They offered two choices every morning, and they never disappointed. Brandon and Julianna are so nice and willing to go out of their way to help you. We really enjoyed our stay and will definitely be back!
