Our stay at this Hampton Inn was average. The front desk service was consistently mediocre, which was disappointing when trying to get information about the area. The workers didn’t seem enthusiastic to assist with recommendations. Our room was clean with a view of the water,...More
This is, without question, the finest Hampton hotel that we have ever visited (and we are Hilton Gold members). We stayed for eight nights in mid-June 2018 in order to visit Bar Harbor and Acadia National Park. Though it took me a couple days to...More

We recently returned from a 4 night 5 day stay at the Hampton by Hilton. It was just what we were looking for in every way. The location is extremely close to the entrance to Acadia National Park, and a 4 minute drive into the...More

We stayed in 404 King Oceanview. Clean simple room with a fantastic view. Ian at the front desk was spot on with restaurant suggestions: Fish House Grill and Thirsty Whale. We drove downtown the first time at noon but returned because of lack of parking....More
Spectacular Ocean and Mt Views await your arrival from the private hilltop location overlooking Frenchman Bay, the Porcupine Islands, and the Mountains of Acadia National Park. Hampton Bar Harbor is NEW and is ...Morelocated just one mile from the hustle and bustle of the Harbor activities, restaurants, and shops in downtown Bar Harbor; accessible by car (2 min.), walking (active guests - 15 min.), and the free Island Explorer Shuttle (late June - early Oct). It's hilltop location is peaceful and quiet, and the property itself provides easy access to all amenities (heated pools, large fitness room, complimentary hot breakfast, business & kid centers, outdoor patios, suite shop, etc.), all within one structure. Acadia National Park is just one mile from the hotel, with easy access for biking carriage paths, driving up Cadillac Mt, and exploring the Park Loop Rd. A Harbor View guest room with balcony, will provide the very BEST experience in Bar Harbor for watching a spectacular sunrise! Less

Some have ocean view but it’s a far view. If you really want to be near the ocean, there are better hotels in the waterfront of Bar Harbor with similar price range. We used points to stay in this hotel and wanted to extend our stay, they asked over $400 while the oceanfront hotel, Modern and nicer ones were cheaper. So be careful... it’s a standard Hampton Inn, nothing special. The price is high now as it’s simmer season but fall the prices will definitely come down and in my opinion I’ll stay in waterfront for the view and town and nice walks!

We booked in early March for an early July trip, and we had our fingers crossed with each click of the mouse. That said, July is more popular than June - I have been told. My suggestion? I’d book at least 6 months ahead. I would also recommend you speak with the hotel about booking for your June visit. The staff there was excellent and I’m confident they’ll give you even better insights. Have a great trip!
