Paid a lot of money to have a lousy nights sleep. Air quality was so bad. Air conditioner did not work and room had a horrible smell. Pillows were not comfortable. For the money I paid, I expected more.
This hotel was filthy! The rooms on the website do not exist in the hotel not even the front desk, eating area or library - The room was so dirty that our shoes stuck to the carpet it was sticky, the air conditioner didn't work, there was mold of unknow origin on the windows in the bathroom and the floor and random holes in the walls. The room came complete with vermin - chip monks in the room and from behind the walls - even the table had grease smears till on it - there was a chunk of wood missing from the area of the lock - I would NEVER EVER stay there again nor recommend it to anyone
I just got back from a family vacation to Bar Harbor. I stayed at this hotel, as it was only a mile from down town. It is on a main street and I heard noise all night. The air conditioning did not work well. The bathroom was old and dirty and had no shower bar or hook for a towel (just some holes in the wall from where a bar must have fallen off). The outdoor hallway was dirty and the outdoor caret was ripped and hard to walk on. There was no maid service to wash towels so we took out the garbage several times. The hotel price was the most I have ever spent on a hotel, over $350 for a night including tax. I will not be coming back to this Days Inn ever.
It was decently priced and the room was clean and bed comfy. They allow pets which is helpful, but there is no area around for them to go to the bathroom. It's on the road with no grass around. They also charge a higher pet fee than other locations ($50). Parking is free, but can get limited and tight as people return to the hotel in the evening. Breakfast was a basic continental, but it was nice they were still serving it as most locations have stopped. All in all a good stay.
Stayed here for long weekend in June. Perfect central location between Acadia National Park and town. Room was great for our needs.....super comfortable bed, recently redone bathroom. Room is right on the main road, and chances are you will here other folks up bright and early (more than likely for Acadia sunrise). The only minor issue we notice the ac/heating unit looked old and smelled musty so we didn't use it.
