It is all about expectations. I got this place for "significantly" less than surrounding hotels. Most of the others are big, full-service, modern resorts, and this is a simple older hotel which is what I was looking for.

Biggest things for me are clean and comfortable bed. There were minor signs of mold in the shower (nothing serious) but otherwise was clean. Was a comfortable bed (most hotels have hard beds which I do not like).

It is a bit older, and maintenance could be better. I made two minor maintenance adjustments in my first hour there. 1) flush level nut had fallen off in the toilet tank and 2) one of the front feet on the fridge was 1/2" short, making it rock every time I opened the door. These were simple 2-minute fixes I did not mind making, but they indicate a lack of facility maintenance. I have attached a photo of the entrance; it shows one letter falling off, and others in a slightly different color, indicating they changed some out without repainting them all at the same time (lack of maintenance).

Overall, I would stay here again because of the location and cheap price! Just go in with the expectation of a no-frills basic hotel, and compare prices to others in the area and will will be fine!

A pretty old hotel, both from the outside and the inside. The wifi in reception area didn't work at all, but in the room was much better. The room was old but the AC cooled well and the fridge also worked satisfactorily. Some parts of the room were smelly and a bit filthy. Yes, sometime I wondered if the hotel has a pest control regimen because of some odd stains and spots I spotted in my room. The best with the room was undoubtedly the ocean view from the balcony. The hotel doesn't offer any breakfast, but it is at least a short walk to the nearest big road where there are ABC stores and some good breakfast eats. So, the location is ok. Although I can feel that the staff is doing the best they can to accommodate the guests, for the price paid, this is barely acceptable and I wouldn't select this place for longer stay.

When we arrived, the hotel looked find from outside.
The receptionist was not friendly at all. She did not care we were standing in front of her to check in. she was just too busy chatting with her friend…
Hotel room…. It took more 30 minutes to finish shower. A sewer was blocked. We had to wait in the bathtub to drain. Without your intend, you will have chance to have a bath.

And 6 am, the phone was ringing, when I answered the voice form other side asked me, when I was going to check out…. 6 am…. What the….

I was booked to stay here through my job. This is the filthiest hotel I’ve ever stepped into. From the looks of it, the rooms haven’t been touched since the beginning of COVID last year. When I closed the door and turned around to see the lock on the door, I was disgusted. I opened the fridge and immediately contacted my job to find me another place because I will not sleep here. I know for a fact that the staff themselves would not want to sleep here.

Too old for the facilities. The room sells bad, a/c and refrigerator are too noisy, can not sleep when they are on.
Water did not go down properly for wash basin and bathtub. Told there was a tooth brush inside the pipe of the washbasin, nobody came to get it out during my 5 days staying there. But somebody did go to check the bathtub drainage, but I could not understand why the person turned the temperature from 23 degree to 28 degree? It is horrible for the person to staying in the room without A/c or in 28 degree. No A/c in the hallway of each floor and when you passed by the reception counter it is the same too. The towels for the shower were almost black. How long they have been used? Even the floor towel seemed more newer than the shower towel. One mid age woman in receptionist always cannot solve the maintenance problem in time, seemed she wrote down the maintenance, but nothing happened after half an hour, when I went to ask her, she just told me it is fixed already. Actually nobody came to my room at all.

There is no table light on the night stand. The light switch is far from the bed. No alarm clock. No hair dryer. Oh my god, what they have only the bed. It was really unfortable.

Flew into Guam on a military flight. I made last minute reservations over the phone and stayed for my entire trip (only about 3 days). Staff was extremely friendly and helpfull. The hotel is nothing fancy, but well maintained, and excellent deal (had a daily special of $60 day/off season). Has a decent pool and nice little restaurant. Located in the heart of Tumon, next to Tarza Water Park and behind TGI Fridays. Instead of getting a rental car as planned, due to the hotels location, tried one of the shopping bus passes which worked out great. Will definitely stay there again on my next trip!

Due to the hurricane that hit part of the Hawaii state, my United flight to Guam arrived after my connecting flight to Manila had already left. So I looked online and found this hotel to be moderately priced for a last minute booking and since I was only going to be in Guam for less than 12 hours this hotel seemed like the great choice.

Distance from airport: I am not sure the distance but it took about 15 minutes in the taxi and it was about $25 for the taxi fare. Since I arrived on a Saturday night at 8:30 there was no traffic.

Location: As others have said, the great thing about the Tumon Bay Capital hotel is the location. It is about a 10 minute walk to a main shopping area. Just a warning the hotel is on a hill so the walk might be kind of tiring for some of you. Especially me who was in jeans, tshirt on a humid night. The shopping area has several restaurants, including the Hard Rock Café, McDonalds, and other stores. I thought it looked like Waikiki in Hawaii with the Outrigger hotel and the ABC stores, which has some overly priced drinks and food. I did notice a water park next to the hotel. Due to my late arrival and early departure I was not able to fully experience this area. I also noticed various other hotels (Outrigger, Westin, Hyatt), but I cannot tell you how far those hotels were from the shopping area.

Checking In and Lobby Area: I guess since it was about 9:30 pm when I arrived there was no one at the registration desk. Just when I was about to ring the bell a person came out from the back and asked if I wanted to check in. I said yes and after getting my information he gave me the room key. Unlike other hotels, this hotel still uses a key to open the door versus a card or your phone. My impression of the lobby is a basic hotel. The lobby is open, not air conditioned and there was some old looking furniture. I guess you can say the lobby was a great preview of the room.

Room: The room I was assigned had two beds and the room reminded me of the older hotels I used to stay at with my parents in the 70's. The room reminds me of the saying, "You get what you pay for." Don't get me wrong, the room was perfect for me since I was only staying one night but if I was there for more than two nights I would probably choose a different hotel. The room had a small refrigerator and the bed was a little hard for me. There was some cracked areas in the tub. The closet hangers was a mixed bag of different ones, it looked like travelers left their old ones. The room looked like it was not renovated anytime recently. The great thing about the room was the wifi, I had to download an app on my ipad and the wifi was pretty quick. I am not sure how quick it will be to download a movie.

Checking Out: Checking out was a breeze since I left at 4:00 am and I was the only guests.

Transportation to the Airport: It is a good idea to make arrangements with the receptionist the day before because there is no taxi service that drives by the hotel. It is best to make arrangements prior which I did.

Conclusion: I thought the hotel did it's job for what I needed. Which was a place to stay, get a shower, get some food, and go back to the airport the next morning. For me if was to return to Guam for vacation I think I will spend a little more and stay at a resort closer to the beach.

This is one of the most convenient hotels to stay for a short period of time or longer. It is centrally located in the heart of the tourist area. It is a short walk to the shopping malls, duty free shops, restaurants and other hotels. The facilities are complete although not really sophisticated. The staff are courteous and friendly. Transportation is also available.

To put it in context, I find Tamuning Plaza and Harmon Loop hotel perfectly acceptable for short stays given their price is between 55-69 a night, because while very basic and dated (and quirky - Harmon Loop has mad Korean lady owner and in Tamuning Plaza's case the hallways are seedy), they are reasonable, fairly clean and convenient. By contrast, Tumon Bay Capital is not somewhere I'd want to stay again, and spying the sparkling seas between buildings through the room window made me even more happy to get out of there.

Cons- Hairs on the pillows, stains on sheets, curly hairs by brown dusty glasses in bathroom, dirt smears on walls, uncomfortable bed - agree with previous poster about transparent sheets, and I could also feel the springs through mine, booking.com rate of $85 per night had said tax inclusive but was charged tax extra, making room cost nearly a hundred bucks. Off the main strip, no drinks etc for sale, but you could get 2 minute noodle bowls. Woken up by noises from road, lobby, and hallway - I was in 2nd floor room right over reception and cleaning staff were yelling downstairs, rubbish truck and buses outside
.
Was really hard to find off a cul-de-sac (not well marked on tourism map and no signage on main road) and that was very frustrating when driving at 4am from airport.

Pros -Glimpses of the ocean from balcony, free wifi, $20 extra for 3:30pm check out, given new clean pillow after complaining about the dirty condition of the room. Towels seemed cleaner than the sheets (maybe they bought new ones since previous reviews). They also had free covered parking right next to the lobby (at the back).

Deeply grateful to taxi driver who recommended Capital Hotel, Guam. Arrived from Yap with no reservation. On way home from dive holiday early as Mum passed away. Couldn't find hotel under $300 for day literally, 8 to 4pm. Had stayed at Days Hotel in way over for $100. Won't make that mistake again!

This is incredibly well located and all rooms have wonderful views of bay and other flas hotels, like Hilton an Marriot. This place is basic but clean. No facilities but I don't care. Just need sleep and somewhere reasonable for the day, at a reasonable price. Will stay here again. :)

$73 as a walk in. Thank you Lord.
