I stayed at the Guam Reef Hotel for business for a number of weeks in September 2021. All the staff were brilliant, nothing was too much trouble. All COVID restrictions were strictly adhered to. Proof of vaccinations were required before using the pool, with limited people allowed to use it at one time. Limited room cleaning was alleviated by having clean bedding, towels etc located on each floor. All rooms have an excellent view of the bay. The infinity pool and and pool area is excellent. A special thank you to the ladies that ran the Sand Dune in the lobby area, without your hard work, our end of work beer would have been boring! Thank you to all the staff, for being such good hosts.

Clean rooms, friendly staff, good location, and great access to the beach and infinity pool. The food in their restaurants are pretty good. They have a shop that sells some souvenirs, beach/swimming essentials, some snacks and beverages, etc. which is convenient. If you want to work out they have a small gym on the lobby floor. They also have a good amount of washing machines and dryers for use. Each floor is provided as well with an ice machine and microwave near the elevators.
However, I did have some minor issues with my room specifically. Sometimes the lights would flicker and there were problems with the water dispenser. I could also hear the chair and furniture of the room above me moving a lot which was bothersome especially at night and early in the morning. These weren't present during my previous stays here, so maybe it was just bad timing on my end. But I think more thorough room maintenance checks would be helpful just to make sure everything is in order.
Overall, I think the pros still heavily outweigh the cons. I always enjoy my stay in Guam Reef and will gladly come back! Their service and amenities are great and the location is perfect since it's walking distance from multiple shopping centres, convenience stores, and restaurants. This is still my go-to hotel in Guam and have recommended it to multiple friends.

My husband and I stayed at this hotel for 3 nights and we had a nice time. Some areas of the hotel are dated (including the outside needing a paint job) but they are currently doing some work. Aside from being dated, the hotel is very well kept and clean. The room was spacious with a nice balcony facing the pool/ocean and again was very clean. The bathroom could definitely use a facelift but otherwise it was functional and good for us. The location of the hotel is great - walking distance to lots of shopping and restaurants. As a side note - if you're taking a cab from the airport, don't just hop into the first cab you see, go to the actual taxi stand. We made the mistake of doing that and ended up paying for a metered cab as opposed to a flat rate to go to this hotel. Also, if you plan on leaving the hotel and need transportation, look into the trolley that runs daily before taking a cab. The trolley is cheaper than the cabs and makes various stops (it doesn't go everywhere so you may need to take a cab depending on where you'e going). The staff was very friendly and helpful. We had an issue with our A/C on our last night and instead of wasting time trying to fix it, they immediately offered to move us which we greatly appreciated. The pool was nice, overlooking the ocean, my only gripe was that there were too many gnats around but I guess that's to be expected in a tropical island. The beach was a short walk down some stairs and rocky path. I recommend bringing water shoes/good slippers if you plan on taking walks along the beach as there are seashells around (not unbearable but easier with something on the feet). Overall we had a very nice and enjoyable stay here.

This is my fourth trip to Guam, my first in 13 years, and my third time at the Reef Hotel.
Today is my third day here, and since the COVID-19 pandemic has ended, there are still not many Japanese tourists in Guam, so I'm spending my time leisurely.
This hotel is a little old, but I think it still boasts the best location in Guam.
There is information in Japanese everywhere in the hotel, so it feels like a very friendly hotel for Japanese people.
There is a water server in the room, and although the recent weak yen has made it difficult for people to afford things, it was very convenient to eat the cup noodles I brought with me in the room when I was tired from attractions.
All rooms are equipped with washlets, and they also have Japanese signs. (Since this is now standard equipment in Japan, perhaps it would be okay to have signs in Korean, which has more visitors?)
Although there was no Japanese sign on how to use it, I was very grateful for the laundry space, which can be used for free as long as you bring your own detergent.
The most recommended spot is the infinity pool which can be seen from the lobby. I think the best part of staying here is being able to relax and soothe your tired body after sightseeing during twilight (magic hour) as the sun sets.

Thank you for your hospitality this year. This is my 10th time staying here since 2013, with the coronavirus in between. By chance, I was able to stay in the same room as last year, Room 1604. We stayed for 5 nights from January 16th, and although the wind was strong, the weather was good and the view from the lanai was still amazing. Sandun was an essential restaurant for our stay, and my companion really liked the Filipino porridge (chicken arroz caldo?) and ate it every day. We also ate at the restaurant in the hotel! The staff were very friendly and the food was delicious, so we were very satisfied! It's a hidden gem, so we loved it. Since it's a direct reservation, airport transfers are also smooth. As for cleaning during our stay, there were still not enough people, so there were times when it was not finished at the time we requested, but towels were replaced and trash was collected immediately, so it was not a problem. I had the impression that tourists were gradually returning, but it seems that it will take a little more time. I will definitely visit again next year. Even with the weak yen, this hotel is absolutely necessary for a refreshing vacation to get energy for the year. We look forward to your continued patronage! Booked on the Infinity side Rm. 1257, view of the sunset was amazing. Great location where everything is a few minutes walk away. Breakfast at Bayview was pretty complete and well worth, fried rice and tapa is a must try. Staff is courteous!

Location is the best! You can access to town center only just few minutes by walk. You can easily reach to restaurants and ABC store. The hotel has a bar and some restaurants inside. There is a beautiful infinity pool and a stair connect to Tumon beach.
Most of guests are Korean family and Japanese couples. The wall of the room is too thin to avoid the noise of baby crying entire night. I asked hotel manager to change my room to refrain from the noise but she said “We cannot control baby so you should accept it”. I paid extra fee to get high grade room so it was unacceptable for me. After the negotiation,staff gave me another room but A/C didn’t work so I had to move to the 3rd room. Unfortunately I struggled with another baby crying entire night even though I moved 2time. Hotel have to write in advance that they accept those noisy customers and the wall is too thin. Unfortunately I will never stay in this hotel. Last but not least, local staffs were super friendly and nice.

I couldn't specify a room, but I was excited about the ocean view. I think that any room on a higher floor would have a view of the ocean, given the location.

Overall, our stay at the Guam Reef Hotel was ok. The cost of the room per night in comparison to the condition of the rooms/the condition of the things in the room was disappointing. There were dead/smashed bugs on the curtains, room walls, shower walls, and shower ceiling. The shower/bathtub was outdated, there was obvious mold growing on the walls within the bathroom, and more mold that was simply painted over with a fresh coat of paint. The wood floors in the hotel room were not the cleanest. A few days into our stay, I turned on the light in the bathroom to get ready for a dinner reservation and 3 cockroaches began scrambling across the bathroom floor. I immediately contacted the front desk and after my initial call, I had to reach back out a second time (after 20 minutes of waiting for them to call me back to let me know if another room was clean and available) so that I could switch rooms. Dont count on having decent wifi signal during your stay here and be aware that the TV in the room is from the early 2010s. There is a community microwave on each floor where the ice machine is found— The condition of this area was pretty disgusting. Bummer. If you’re only staying in the area for a short 3-4 days, it is completely doable but if you’re staying 5+ days, we highly suggest looking into other hotels in the area that around the same price with better quality. Though there were more negatives than positives about this hotel, its location in the city and their infinity pool were nice.

Nice hotel, centrally located within the main tourist section. Fantastic infinity pool for sunsets. Beach is a 5 min walk. Plenty of dining options nearby. Hotel also has free parking and taxis are normally waiting outside. We did run into a few small groups of guests partying, but only minimal interactions. Hotel restaurants were closed when I was there.

per our experience, they did not allow early check in. There were a lot of luggage in the lobby for safekeeping. This to mean indicates there were several also waiting for check in.
