Nestled in the serene Ko Olina area, Marriott's Ko Olina Beach Club is celebrated for its less congested beachfront locale, which offers easy access to the shore and a peaceful retreat. Families particularly enjoy the clean, ample rooms and the range of amenities, though some note the scarcity of poolside loungers. While the hotel's cleanliness receives high marks, with well-kept grounds and tidy spaces, opinions on the rooms vary; they are generally spacious but sometimes criticized for outdated decor and lackluster views. The staff's attentiveness is frequently praised, but guests have called out the value proposition as underwhelming, pointing to costly services and aggressive sales tactics.

This was a really nice experience with beautiful grounds, very nice people and excellent service by all staff. The pools are well attended to make sure people don’t just leave their stuff on chairs and never return. They really make sure the adult pool was quiet which was great and appreciated. The only downside was my room wasn’t cleaned until 3-4pm each day which was a little late, especially coming in from the beach to get ready for dinner. Otherwise, well maintained and clean.

Marriott KoOlina Beach Club is my go to place when I need a break. I've stayed here multiple times, in a studio, a one bedroom, two bedroom and three bedroom. I just love it here.Customer service is top notch and the property is absolutely first class.
This trip, we were in a two bedroom ocean view in the Naia Tower overlooking the swimming pool on the fourth floor. Warm breezes while having coffee on our balcony enjoying the ocean view. Fully equipped kitchen, washer and dryer come in handy. Beds are so comfortable. Leave your basic toiletries at home, Shower Gel, Shampoo, Conditioner and Lotion are the wonderful Mālie brand.
There are lounge chairs on the beach for free and lounge chairs with umbrellas and cabanas for a fee. Lounge chairs by the pools are available too. No need to bring towels from home as they give you towel cards you can exchange for beach towels.
The property has BBQ's that you can use and the utensils are available packaged and hanging by the grill. There are numerous restaurants around the property and restaurants in the neighboring hotels - Four Seasons and Aulani. The Luau is great every Tuesday night. The entertainment is fantastic.
Lots of activities available like Yoga, Stretch Classes, Dancing, etc. My favorite is my 2 mile morning walk to the Four Seasons and back.
Will be back again next year. Again, my favorite place!

I went there at the invitation of a friend.
It was a quiet environment and I was able to relax.
The sunset was beautiful and I could swim without worry.
Food was expensive, so we bought food at the supermarket and enjoyed a BBQ.
If you have a rental car, you can easily go to the supermarket, airport, and Waikiki.
I would like to stay for a week.
The room was spacious and clean. We stayed as a timeshare, so there was no cleaning, but towels and other things were replenished immediately and there was a washer and dryer, so we only had to wash a few things.

My wife and I are long-time Vacation Club owners but this was the first time to this property. It is one of the larger MVC properties and this was most apparent when trying to get poolside chairs (my wife saw people out there before 6.30am "saving" their chairs with towels). We had a one-bedroom apartment and it had everything we needed and we enjoyed the space. It has a great location - you can get onto the beach easily and that seemed less crowded than the polls. The on-site facilities/restaurants were good. I see some comments about the sales pitch - we didn't get that at all - we did have one call but there is always one call before you get to a MVC property but we explained that we were not interested in buying more points and that was fine with the caller. You do need a car at this property and parking can be tight (esp if you are in huge SUV!). You can walk to the other resorts further down the coast and that is a pretty walk.

A return visit after almost 2 1/2 years of hiding from the COVID virus.

Still feeling really good about this property after a one week stay. Check in (for rental guest/NOT Timeshare owner) is quick and efficient. Once again, sent to a lower floor 1 Bedroom Villa because of non owner status, but to be honest, very little time was spent in the room during the day. Decor and kitchen tools and equipment were as remembered and in my opinion well kept and well stocked.

Having the full kitchen means you don't have to spend the $45+ for breakfast, $65+ for lunch and $150 for dinner that's required unless you're into a Kapolei fast food diet, unless you hate to cook. I'm very fond of the ground floor gas barbeques and picking up fresh local fish, local beef or mainland chicken makes for easy main courses. Kapolei grocery stores are just 10 minutes away. So is Costco, but I'm not a member. If you live a more crunchy life, Down to Earth has all the organic, meatless things you're probably interested in and also close by.

Staff is very friendly and welcoming. The pools are well maintained as are the grounds.

The biggest change is learning to accept the lack of daily housekeeping. This is not the only hospitality property that has decided or been forced to suspend housekeeping visits, so it's not a surprise. But if spending the required rate offends you if you have to make your own bed, then it's probably not the place for you in the present era. The property was very good about exchanging bath linens and replenishing things like dish detergent and toilet paper and there is a carpet sweeper in the closet to pick up the obvious crusties that make their way in to the room.

Forty dollars a day for parking may seem outrageous, but it's what the upper scale Hawaiian properties charge and the rate remains unchaged from 2019 (they'll probably raise it now after this review).

There remains very low key solicitation for the timeshare pitch. There are some very attractive perks if you sign up for the presentation, but I just can't bring myself to waste a salesperson's time if I know at the outset I'm not interested. And once you say 'not interested', they move on.

The property was almost at capacity, yet it never felt crowded.

Another winning stay and I'd go back in a heartbeat.

We were honestly so excited to stay here and we were here 10 years ago and had a great time. However we couldn’t have been more disappointed.
Pros- grounds were well maintained and clean, we had some amazing staff at longboards and around the pool. The walking trail is great and the lagoons are calm and perfect for kids and we were able to see lots of fish! The Luau is fantastic and hands down the best thing this hotel offers and feeding the fish in the pond was a fun activity for the kids.
Cons- Loud! And I am not talking kids, yes there are a lot of kids and I have two young kids myself. The kid noise didn’t bother us in the slightest. The hotel is right under the flight path so you hear airplanes and jumbo jets all day and night. Additionally we were placed in a “Mountain View” room which didn’t see the mountain at all but the parking lot. Bath tub was dirty. Located right under the door where lots of staff and guests enter and exit. Lots of car alarms and noise all the time. We asked for a room change several times, we are owners and were immediately dismissed. The women at the welcome center was absolutely rude telling us that we would have never stayed in a room facing the ocean those aren’t reserved for people like us…she then proceeded to tell us that since we declined the presentation we wouldn’t be getting anything. She offered us a map and rolled her eyes when I asked for a second. Sitting by the front desk for an hour we saw two people ask for a room change without any issues. Along with several others getting “upgraded”. We met several people who got their reservations off redweek for a beautiful room with lots of extras. No owner affiliation at all so it goes to show how they treated people that have owned for years. One day the women working the pool came by to introduce herself and take an order then we never saw her the rest of the day. She never came back to even pick up her receipt.

I would honestly never come back here nor would I ever purchase anything extra with MVC or attend a presentation to buy. Being an “owner” gets you nothing. Seems the best way to go is red week if you want to stay here for a decent cost.

We are owners at Ko Olina and just returned from an 8 day stay and although we enjoyed being in Hawaii and the warm weather, our stay at the MVC just wasn't as good as previous years. I guess that's because our room was filthy, necessitating my wife doing a complete deep cleaning before we even unpacked. Then, on the day that we had housekeeping, they made the bed (no clean linen), dropped off fresh towels, toiletries and replenished the coffee/tea, straightened a few things on the table and the pillows on the sofa, put the dishes in the dishwasher and emptied the trash. That was it. The stove wasn't touched (even though there were oatmeal splatters on the stovetop), the body wash in the shower wasn't replaced (it was empty), the carpet wasn't vacuumed and the floor in the kitchen still had crumbs (which were highlighted by the sunshine) and was sticky. Needless to say, housekeeping is now clearly a problem and something that we have never experienced in previous years.

In addition, there were other details that were clearly missing. There was no Welcome program on the main lawn for owners and guests and the menu of daily activities for both adults and children has been extremely trimmed down compared to previous years. It just didn't feel the same and not in a good way. Considering the exorbitant maintenance fees, every guest should expect that the rooms and common areas throughout the property will be clean and sanitary and that there will be a multitude of activities to choose from during their stay. This was always the case before the pandemic, and while I understand the cutbacks during the height of COVID, we're past that point.

We stayed with 4 people.
We stayed in 2 1BR rooms for families and it was very comfortable.

It takes about 40 minutes to an hour by rental car from the airport, and if you buy some food on the way and grill it on the hotel's barbecue grill, it's cheap and delicious.

Also, it's very convenient that parking is free.
In Waikiki it costs about $50 a night, but here it's free, so it's very convenient even for a week's stay.

There are a lot of Japanese people, but it's not as crowded as Waikiki, and although it's on Oahu, it has a bit of a Hawaiian Island feel, so I think it's good.

I think it's more suitable for staying with family or relatives for about a week.

Have you ever gone to a resort and had to get up early if you wanted a chair by the pool? Because there are already people there at 7 am throwing towels on chairs then disappear. Well I’ve finally met the professional chair monger. He’s there by 6:30 puts crap on 7 chairs at about 8 the pool chair monitors come by and tag the chairs no one is at. Now you’re only allowed to reserve 2 chairs and that’s if you’re there. So you watch them tag a few chairs and then ask the chair monger if these 7 chairs are his, he says yes and they’re on their way down. Now this is where the professional kicks in he strikes up a conversation with them like he cares two cents about who they’re or what they do it’s all apart of his routine. They walk off then it’s another 45 minutes to an hour and his wife shows up, in a few minutes he leaves not again to be seen for 3 hours. Now the rest of his family that we’re on their way at 7:30am don’t show up until 11 or as late as 1 pm because they were out doing other things. All of this while other people are showing up and can’t find a chair by the pool at 9am but the chair monger holds 7 chairs because he thinks his family is more privileged then yours. I’ve seen people come throw their stuff on a couple of chairs then not see them for an hour or more but this guy he’s the best pos I’ve ever seen. Yes this is my rant on the chair monger.. if you ever see him you’ve been warned he’s more important well in his mind then you and your family!

AVOID!! This resort has never made sense to me. It’s on the ugliest part of the Hawaiian Islands. Might as well save the airfare and stay at a beach in California, the area is dry and brown, the exact opposite of the usual Hawaii of lush tropics. There is no real beach and no waves. Just a flat ugly lagoon. Again, if you want that, stay in California and head to a lake. The pools are small and crowded, and very loud. The restaurants, Longhis and Longboards, are overpriced and have very mediocre food. There are very limited restaurant options outside of the hotel. The resort nickel and dimes you on everything. You have to pay to even rent an umbrella at a resort where you’re already paying a fortune to go to. There is nothing to do outside of the resort on this part of the island, so a long drive to enjoy anything else on Oahu.

And to make it worse, one of the three pools is now closed for repairs for 18 months! They could rebuild the hotel in 18 months, how does it take that long to fix a pool? The result is the only quiet pool, the adult pool, is now filled with children and families and is a total nightmare.

Really, stay at a mediocre Marriott at any beach on the mainland for a fraction of the cost and you’ll be just as well off.
