I booked the Luxury Queen Room with ocean views in the Hokupa‘a Tower through United Vacations by Priceline. I get to the room and it was a basic room with views of the golf course & roof of the parking garage. I immediately went back down to the front desk & the employee/manager on duty insisted it was an issue with United Vacations & not the hotel. They also insisted that was the room I booked even though I showed them screenshots of my reservation. They acted like I was trying to upgrade to a room I didn’t pay for & they were not very pleasant to me. I told them bluntly you are acting like I’m trying to get something I didn’t pay for when I did pay for this upgraded room & the screenshots prove this. I gave up with the front desk & called UV by Priceline & spent over 2 hours on phone with them only to be told by their reps ‘Ma’am just because the photo shows that view doesn’t mean you will be booked in that room’. I am not that naive & have booked many trips to understand how the reservation process works with or without photos! The joke was when they offered me a 15% discount on a hotel booking for a stay of 3 or more nights with travel to be completed by May 14 of this year through hotels.com. Very shady of United Vacations by Priceline. Nothing was resolved at check in. Later that evening I stopped at the front desk to ask about shuttle service & lucky for me there was a couple checking in who had the same issue I did. They also booked through the same company. This time Cameron & Dawn were the managers at the front desk. They were amazing & the only ones willing to listen to have my issue resolved! Cameron went above & beyond expectations by contacting United Vacations by Priceline within a couple of hours. He emailed me at 11 pm confirming that I did purchase the upgraded room. The next morning Dawn was finally able to check me into the room I booked. My advice is to take screenshots of your booking because when United Vacations by Priceline emails the confirmation info all the room details are not included in that email. Thank you Cameron & Dawn for all your help. Upon reading other reviews it seems that I was not the only guest who encountered issues with some of the front desk staff. Cameron & Dawn are the reason I will definitely be staying at the Westin again!

It’s been a while since I have rewritten a review but I feel like it is important to rave about this resort. My husband suggested this resort and when I read some previous reviews I was hesitant, but we went for it anyways. It exceeded our expectations! We had an ocean view room in the ocean tower, the room looked like it was recently renovated and was very clean. I love a Westin heavenly bed and it did not disappoint, we slept so good. We were located right above the waterfall, which on the balcony was a little loud but also kind of relaxing, and when the sliding glass door was closed we did not notice it, The staff was attentive and friendly. We ate mostly at Whaler village next door but did have breakfast everyday at the hotel, the portion size was good, the food was average. Prompt towel service, and the pools were not overly busy. While I prefer a lazy river pool, having many different pools options was nice and there were plenty of umbrellas and chairs to go around. I would definitely stay here again!

We were offered a photo shoot with a credit for ordering photos, so we decided to take advantage of the offer. Melanni, with Blink Photography was our photographer and she was so fun to work with! She took photos of us around the beautiful grounds, finishing on the beach at sunset. We love our photos and the beautiful video that she put together for us!

The setting is spectacular, I mean it’s Maui, right? Unfortunately the Westin did not live up to our expectations as a “high end” resort. Housekeeping is practically non existent with little to no attention to detail. There was a used inhaler and various other “surprises” under one of the beds…didn’t check the other one. We were there 4 days and even after asking did not have fresh linens. The pool is lovely but don’t expect to be able to get water from the coolers as they seem to just be for show. Potential is there but we won’t be going back…very disappointing. Finally, there are several surprise charges that will appear on your bill when you check out, and it’s not a good surprise.

Our family had our annual trip planned for Sept 2023 -- and decided not to go as to not tax the community and allow the locals to use the services. I was unable to reach the hotel -- or the Westin vacation club due to the overwhelm of demand on customer service. We were informed someone would contact us -- they did. I confirmed we would NOT be arriving, yet the points were never refunded to my account. After numerous phone calls and letter - still no resolve. It is disappointing that in such devastation of the community - that guests are taken advantage of. There should absolutely have policies for unplanned catastrophe -- the airlines were fantastic at waiving fees. Westin -- you should follow and do what is RIGHT!

Just returned from a 5 night stay. Everything was great. Pool, towel desk, room, housekeeping, concierge and overall hospitality met expectations based on other reviews. The room had an espresso machine with 6 pods. The water slide was not open and didn't eat in the local restaurant. If it wasn't for the tragic sights of Lahinia from the airport you would never guess there was a fire at least at this property. The local restaurants were feeding FEMA and those displaced by the fire. I don't believe (from what I saw) they were eating off the menu, but more using their kitchens to prepare meals. Westin has free guest wifi access. I suppose it was worth what i paid. It was basically non-functioning. Couldn't keep a steady signal. I would connect and then drop. Occasionally it would connect and be incredibly slow, then drop. If you have no cell data a trip to Maui could have some surprises.

Long overdue review for an amazing 5 night stay last winter. The Hokupa’a Tower was truly lovely. Renovated room and bath, balcony, ocean view and access to the lounge (with even more amazing views). Perfect location. Direct beach front access, right next door to shops & restaurants and a short walk over to black rock. We tried almost all of the great dining spots on the property, along with every pool. This hotel is a winner. Thank you to Valerie and the rest of the staff for their hospitality. Best wishes to the people of Maui.

My family and I had a great stay here. For a little context I have been a member of Marriott's rewards program since 1999. I currently have Titanium status. I have spent over 1200 nights in hotel rooms so I feel like I'm a pretty good judge of hotels. For this stay I rented 2 rooms. The rooms were Ocean Tower - Superior, Guest room, 1 King, Ocean view, High floor, Balcony. I cannot recommend these rooms highly enough. Such an amazing view of the pool area and the beach. There is a wide selection of pools and they are all nice. Since I am a Titanium member I got coupons for breakfast which could be used at either Hale Mo'olelo or the Mahele Market & Eatery. I ate a both places and can recommend both of them. While you are there, be sure to try the Hale Mo'olelo's version of a Pina Colada. It's different than a typical pina colada and was a favorite of everyone in our group. Also stop by Mahele Market and try their banana bread. It's so decadent.

As a lifetime Platinum Bonvoy member, and Titanium level while staying at this Westin, I can say I am extremely disappointed with Marriott based on my stay here. There was so many issues I’ll have to list them by number. 1st instead of the guaranteed club access for being a Platinum/Titanium member, this hotel will tell you their club is only for those who paid to stay in the HOKUPA‘A towers, but instead provided us with a card for continental breakfast. However it did not turn out to be a continental breakfast but 1 item and 1 drink from their grab a go shop. What’s sad is I chose the egg dish as my 1 item and asked for toast as well and they tried to charge me $8 for the toast! Then I grabbed a sparking water and they said “No, only juice or still water”… I don’t know why they are so cheap, but it drove me insane. 2nd was the room. As a Titanium member they did actually “upgrade” our room to the Hokoup’a tower (but with no club access), however the upgrade was to a room on level 3, which faced the back access road to the mall next door. We were awakened every day at 5 am with garbage trucks and other vehicles dropping off equipment for the day. The rooms were not that great either, nothing special and definitely not worth the 52,000 points we spent per night, or $1,200+ a night they want to charge. 3rd was the $45 resort fee they charged for staying on points. This included nothing that great, to include access to their game room, which wasn’t even open the whole time we were there. It also included “enhanced wifi” which I already get as a platinum/titanium member, but the funny thing was the internet was super slow and not really enhanced at all. And then their was the complimentary hotel shuttle which was part of the resort fee. We actually tried to use it and asked them to take us to the Sheridan down the street, and the drive say “on that only ½ mile you can walk”! There were other issues as well, but long story short don’t waste your time here. We stayed at the Hyatt Regency down the street as well on this trip and it was 10,000% better, and I am not even a Hyatt member!

I went with family. Stayed during the fire. We fled to Oahu. We didn’t get compensated at all for ZERO electricity, cell phone service, stale horrible food during the disaster. No air conditioning. This was almost four days like this. They charged us FULL PRICE for the trashy food, rooms not cleaned with no electricity, the restaurant rice must have been made a week prior. It was a terrible disaster response. The only gem was the disaster buses were outside. Nothing to do with this hotel. The hotel of course didn’t inform us but the front desk was actually polite. They were devastated. Sad situation but give my money back.
