We had a wonderful family vacation again at the Hyatt Maui. This was at least our 12th visit to the Hyatt Maui and it is wonderful every time. We loved all the new guestroom makeovers that happened since our last visit. They made the rooms seem more spacious and airy and definitely less dated. The staff seemed so happy to have visitors back on Maui which made you feel even more welcome and at home. We were so excited to have daily housekeeping and turndown service back - yay for Hyatt for doing that. We love this hotel because it has everything for our whole family, a great pool, great restaurants, perfect location and attentive staff. I was disappointed that breakfast at Swan Court is significantly less than it used to be but the price is just as expensive as it was when it was much more expansive. I suggest Hyatt bring it back to what it used to be or lower the price until then you are better off to go eat somewhere else for breakfast.

This is the 10th time we have stayed at the Hyatt Regency Maui. On previous stays we have enjoyed a courteous staff, clean rooms, a plentiful buffet, and a relaxing time at the pool. The recent renovations to the resort rooms are great. With regard to the buffet and pool, I can no longer say that is the case. The buffet is a mere shadow of its former self. Food selection and quality has degraded greatly. The selection/variety of the items available is minuscule and the flavor/taste of what is being served is subpar. The staff at the buffet continue to be very friendly and attentive, however. The pool has become a place where drunk partygoers hang out, drink excessively, play loud music on multiple large bluetooth speakers, and generally act inconsiderate of other guests. Since there was no pro-active enforcement of the rules (loud music), I brought this to the attention of staff more than once. The unruly behavior, loud music, and drunk arguing continued, and on more than one occasion, turned into a physical altercation between several of the drunk guests. When they weren’t screaming and yelling, the overly intoxicated guests were vomiting, spilling beer and liquor into the pool, and generally making a mess of the pool deck. Staff continued to serve the overly intoxicated guests more booze, stopping by regularly to make a sale, all while ignoring the loud music and disorderly behavior. Some guests brought glass beer bottles into the pool, even after being told not to. I’d like to say this was limited to one guest or party, but that isn’t that case. This behavior occurred amongst several unrelated groups. This ruined the experience for us, and others, I know (as they told us so as they picked up their towels to leave their seats). Several times, the disorderly, drunk guests left their pool chairs and stumbled to go to the bar while leaving their loud music playing on the speakers. After being served at the bar (while visibly intoxicated), they returned and continued to drink more, while turning up the volume on the bluetooth speakers. We came to the Hyatt expecting to have a relaxing, enjoyable time, as we have many times in the past. This stay was very NOT enjoyable and NOT relaxing, whatsoever. This is no longer a higher class resort. The aforementioned issues have made it so we will book elsewhere on future stays.

We have stayed at this Hyatt many times and the renovations are wonderful. The rooms are very updated and the staff was friendly but there are many bad changes at this Hyatt. There were people every day at the pool with large speakers blaring music all day and getting very drunk and belligerent at the pool. We complained many times but it continued for over a week and many other people around us left the pool because of this behavior. The Hyatt used to be a place to come and relax but the overall vibe was a spring break nightmare with no rules being enforced. People were fighting, yelling, and dropping drinks in the pool. We ate at the restaurants Japengo and Umalu and had great food, but the breakfast Buffett was tasteless and disappointing.

Such an amazing experience. Great service from everyone, rooms were spotless, food was great, can’t recommend highly enough! It truly seemed like each employee we came into contact with wanted to help and genuinely was excited to make our stay special.

Hotel is unreal...the staff was amazing! Our stay was a last minute decision as we extended a trip on the "Wailea" area. We had a blast, which was made possible by the friendly/fun Hyatt staff. We are already planning a return trip with our kids.
