We felt so welcome!

Is there any designated smoking areas outside?

I'm sorry, I do not smoke and did not see anyone smoking in the area. There might be a designated smoking area but you might call them.

In the 3 bedroom units, are the baths ensuites in each bedroom?

We didn't have a 3 bdrm. unit, it was a 2 bdrm, 2 bath unit. One was ensuite the other not. However being on one level we never shared the non-ensuite bath, it was ours. FYI: Huge condos, more than one Lanai (Balcony), quiet, peaceful, many repeat clients, a few younger couples with kids but mostly seniors. Party by the pool is Tuesdays. Pool wonderful, front desk service excellent. We needed a coffee grinder, they went out and bought one. Found out after returning that my movies that wouldn't play on their outdated CD/VCR players, we only needed to ask for a Blue Ray Player. So we loved it. A good walk to beach downhill and up when returning. Same to restaurants & stores. You need a car.

we are coming in September for our honeymoon after a renewal of vows of 33yrs and have booked a 1bdrm and would like to be closest to the ocean can that be accommodated

The Aston Maui Hill is a beautiful resort to stay at. However, it is seated on the hillside away from the beach. It is a very large resort and many of the units have beautiful sweeping views of the ocean, but also many do not. I would call the resort to find out if you have any options for an ocean view room. Also, when we were there, we drove to the different beaches (which are not far at all), so I’m not sure what the coastline is like nearest the resort. While I think you will enjoy your stay there, if you are looking for beach front property, then this is not the resort for you. Happy Anniversary!

In reading reviews, "mai tai party" seems to be on different days. Is it scheduled for a specific day of the week? Does it change seasonally? Monthly?
