The is an awesome little hotel. It’s pretty convenient for Kahului and Wailuku. The staff has always been friendly and there are many amenities, although some are not always available. PROS- There’s a bunch of fun games everywhere, outside in the yard they have bocce ball, and corn hole. Things like billiards and connect 4 are inside and there are also board games you can rent. I loved walking around the hotel seeing couples and families laughing and bonding with each other “Coffee hour” twice a day at the front desk. Free coffee, tea and hot chocolate. We were there on a cold and windy day, so this was much appreciated in the chilly afternoon! The beach is a great place to watch the sunrise or set. It feels private and really the whole property feels a little tucked away from the “city life” of town. The courtyard has a few hammocks and a bunch of lounge chairs that look out at the harbor. Cost is pretty reasonable considering other hotel prices on island. Located right in the middle of Kahului town, and super close to Wailuku. Everything is a 5-10 minute drive to get to. I recommend Tiffany’s for dinner The breakfast buffet is a great deal when all food items are available CONS- Fitness center has been closed since 2020. Would be nice to have access to it, but I imagine they would have to raise the prices to maintain it probably. Pool was a little over chlorinated Ice machine was out while we were there Breakfast buffet was missing a few food items like pancakes and Portuguese sausage, such a bummer as that is what we were looking forward to the most! *Not the fault of the hotel but since the beach is close to the harbor there is quite a bit of ocean trash that washes up shore. This is a great way to practice leaving a place better than you found it by helping clean up the ocean line 🏝️ Overall we have a great time whenever we stay at Maui Beach Hotel. I’m sure we’ll be back again!…
Staff at Maui Beach hotel were extremely helpful and friendly. The courtyard, right on a beautiful beach, was an awesome space to spend a relaxing afternoon. Lots of places to sit out in the breeze. Comfortable bed and pillows, clean room.
Checked in after a long flight as an overnighter before heading to our resort in the morning. Got in after10 to find the main reason we booked this did not even exist. We even called in advance of booking online and was told "o yes, we have a fitness center". After checking in we followed the signs to the fitness center to get a little exercise after 10 hours in planes (and was also planning a morning workout). The signs led you to an office, no fitness center exists. Not only that, but they claim that the "resort" fee is for the use of the fitness center and internet. It will probably come as no surprise to find out the internet just happened to be down that night too. No refund of my "resort" fee after pointing out both issues to staff.
The price was quite steep. 350CAD (260USD) for 1 single night. The place looks very old and austere on the inside. Like it's been built in the 80s and never been renovated ever since. I have stayed in road side motels that look much nicer for a fraction of that price. This place needs a serious makeover and a thorough renovation. We honestly felt robbed to have paid that much for what we got. The staff however was very nice and helpful and our interraction with them was lovely.
The location is the main reason for booking this hotel. Aside from that, I wouldn’t necessarily stay here. It is conveniently located in town where I conducted most of my business. The parking is great… it’s free and ample.
Bed was average. Room size and location was good. Drapes could have closed better. Key card was hard to operate. All in all a good stay. Would stay again. But the price was way too expensive. Mahalo nui!!
Minnie at the front desk check us in...She was so great...She even gave us some treats like cookies and maui potato chips for our room...The property is great and the price is the best in MAUI...I READ A LOT OF REVIEWS EARLIER and was feeling a bit nervous but once we arrived I was very pleased...
Not as awesome as the photos. The staff was very nice which honestly made up for how annoying the key card door lock system was and how noisy the room was. The key cards unlocked the door sometimes after trying many times. The sounds from the hallway made it into the room. The property is fine but some things are not very well maintained. The water pressure in the bathroom sink was also very low. I wasn't looking for the Waldorf Astoria but I was expecting a little more for the price I paid per night.
Unexplained fees when booking. But, if you call them out on it, they put you on a do not rent list. They say you're difficult and the poor staff should not have to deal with you when they are illogical and are the bullies!?
After reading some earlier reviews, I was on the fence but after such a friendly check in by Minnie at the front desk I could tell this was our place to stay .. The room was fantastic the grounds were beautiful … I would stay here every time I come to Maui for now on …. The Maui beach hotel is fantastic for the people who don’t want to be locked on some resort … This is the real Maui vibe … Maholo to everyone at the Maui Beach Hotel 💜💜💜
