We arrived on a fairly late flight so the quick and friendly check-in was appreciated. The open-air lobby displayed a sense of aloha! We were given a reusable beach bag upon check-in. However, I would just as soon have the $15 daily amenity fee removed and not receive a "free" items. We chose this hotel because it was less expensive ($180 night) and the location was a good place to start our adventure in the morning. The standard room we stayed in was small with double beds but the air conditioning worked well. The street traffic was an issue for me throughout the night as I am a light sleeper who lives in a rural area. However, this also means that there are a lot of local businesses convenient to this hotel (restaurants, gas stations, laundry). The grounds are well kept as you will see in the pictures but the "beach" is not someplace you would want to spend the day; rocky & littered. We enjoyed our return flight hotel more which I was able to score for 35,000 Marriott points. I can't say I would never stay here again, but not my first choice.

Old hotel with basic tiny dark rooms. Price is high for what you get. We stayed here as a stop over to another property and even for the short amount of time it was uncomfortable. For $275/night the least they could do
Is put a fitted sheet on the beds.

The location was perfect it was close to everything. The room size was average but the shower was super small. Room service was only available upon request, so if you needed a towel you had to go the the front desk for one.

The people are very courteous and helpful. The hotel was clean and comfortable. It was close to the airport and priced competitively. The restaurant was excellent. Nilza checked us in. She was polite and knowledgeable.

Lots of complimentary activities like yoga, happy hour drinks, Hawaiian breakfast on Fridays and more.

Highlights recommended!!

I arrived around 7pm to find out that the Standard King Bed room I reserved was not available. Seems like there was very conscience choice to give my room away to a guest that was staying longer than my measly 1 night. None the less, I get it. However, I then was placed in a room that was near closest to the main road which was extremely loud. Was originally told there was nothing else available, but after a lengthy conversation with the front desk I was given a room 3 doors down that was significantly quieter (but it was obvious again that my one night stay reservation was a very low priority and only after a fair amount of pressure was I given a room that supposedly wasn't available at the beginning of my conversation). Beds were comfortable and room clean, but in the morning my wife woke up with 6-7 bites that bothered her for the rest of our stay in Maui (I had no bites). The window was never opened, so it was obviously some type of bug(s) already present in the room. On a positive note, the shuttle service to the airport was prompt and courteous. However, the overall experience was adequate, but disappointing.

This is in Kahului area close to the airport and Tropical Plantation/Mill’s House (8mins by Uber). A cruise ship docked in the marina close to us which i personally thought why is that ship coming in a little too close to the beach it feels like the area is shallow. Well it wasn’t!
Though its far from Lahaina which is the more touristy area of Maui or Kihei which has Long Shoreline and lots of shops. Maui Beach Hotel has its own beach. Water is cold about 50’F, I had some photos but didn’t swim. It’s also across a mall with bus depot where we took our ride going to Lahaina/Kihei. Bus has unlimited ride $4/day even if its far from tourist places.

My wife and I spent part of our mandatory 14 day quarantine on arrival to maui from the mainland. The hotel grounds were nice. Building looked a bit older. The staff there was extremely helpful and very accommodating. Rooms were pretty clean but quite small and a bit rundown. It was nice we had the lanai (balcony) to catch some fresh air but it could have been better cleaned and maintained.

Hair dryer was broken, the phone in the room started ringing middle of the night . Windows were unclean but I guess you have to give up some of the comforts for a slightly cheaper price . Ocean view is not really ocean view. You can barely see the ocean , we have upgraded to ocean front later luckily

We arrived late from the mainland and had a flight the next day to Molokai, and so booked a night here. The room was on the ground floor and looked out onto the parking lot and nearby main road. While it was late we'd hope for a cup of tea; but there were no coffee cups in the room, one tea bag and one coffee bag. The beds were okay and the air conditioner worked on low (and as such was quiet). The shower was tiny but clean and adequate and had good pressure, and the towels were large, new and fluffy.

We ate breakfast in the restaurant - scrambled eggs, ham in pineapple sauce, sausage, pancakes, fruit, porridge, guava juice, coffee and tea, All for $15.96US per person. Unfortunately, most of it was just warm. The best entertainment were the birds and large butterflies in the restaurant.

On arrival we had to take a taxi, as the shuttle was not operating, supposedly. When we took the shuttle the next day back to the airport, the driver told us he had still been working when we arrived and would have picked us up? The taxi fare however was just $15US.

This hotel is more of a motel, and it's a bit tired. That was my main complaint. For what we got the room was way over priced, but then there are only two hotels in Kahului, they are apparently owned by the same owner, and so they can manipulate the cost. Fortunately they are building a new hotel (I was told a Hilton) and so perhaps, with more competition the prices will be more realistic.

Of the staff, most kudos go to the shuttle driver.
