The staff were very nice and always very helpful. My husband and I visited for two weeks. The room was quite large and my biggest fear--the beds, they were both very comfortable and I am so picky. It has a full kitchen which was nice for an extended stay. Our deck overlooked he grounds which are meticulously kept. The location was great, near several restaurants we really enjoyed. The only thing I would say is that the rooms are a little dated. We didn't care, we weren't there for the decorations. We had an excellent time and definitely recommend this hotel

This property is ideal for our bi-annual family week with our 3 married kids and 8 grandkids! The large two bedroom units are ideal and provide room for the kids. The large pool is ideal for fun and games, with it's sandy beach area for the little ones to play too. The staff are helpful and joyful... and the pool bar if convenient and affordable.

Great location, ok rooms, no view, wonderful maid, invaded by white worms on the floor the exit morning so left all of out supplies in the refer. Manager unresponsive. Our exchange was through SFX and have advised them to drop this resort from their offering. I’d rate it lower except for the location and the shining young maid.

Phenomenal service from check in to check out. Rooms were exceptionally clean, the on site dining had great food options, and the pool was a great spot to wind down after busy days of site-seeing. The location of the property was excellent to keep us fairly central to all the Kauai sites we wanted to see during our stay.

A Beautiful complex near the Ocean ! However my view to the Ocean was marred by a Construction site next to the resort where several homes are being built! We were supposed to have an Ocean view but between the buildings and the Ocean was the Construction with Skip loaders and dump trucks. By next year the homes will be built and it will be a PARTIAL Ocean view! Too bad they didn’t stop this before now!

Thank you for taking the time to share your feedback. With this information, it will help us improve our services. We do apologize on the experience that you had. As for the property next door, we have no say to that. Property was owned by a private company in Alaska, which they sub-divided and sold as 10 individual lots. We hope we can serve you again in the future.

The rooms are spacious but tired. They are in need of a much promised but not yet delivered refresh. I have been coming here for the last 25 years and not much has changed. It is clean and the location is perfect. What we love, love, love about The Pointe is the fact that even though they may be fully booked, it never feels crowded. Everyone is so spread out. I would still recommend The Pointe to anyone. Once the rooms are updated, I will definitely give 5 stars!

LOCATION is absolutely fantastic, terrific for walking along the shoreline and enjoying the ocean. The resort’s buildings, although spacious with lots of room for walking and outdoor living, badly need upgrading. Rooms have reasonably good privacy, but again are outdated and in need of a redesign, and new carpeting!! So 84,500 points is not for a gold crown room! The grounds and landscaping are beautiful and well designed for resort guests. The pool and hot tub(s) are fantastic for young and old. The cleaning and maintenance staff were absolutely wonderful and work so hard to keep the resort in great condition. Be prepared for BIG fees: 40$ amenity fee + tax, and the occupancy tax is another 19$.. so $66.22 per day in fees. Amenity fees are high, internet poor, and activity schedule needs a total revamp (although Greg and a few outside instructors were great)..starting with the activity coordinator... she is outdated and not friendly. No worthwhile activities in the programming for young children, but the pool makes up for that! One table tennis table was great, but you can’t access the equipment after 5:00 when the towel hut shuts down! Desperate for some new puzzles and book library. How about children’s games, colouring activities in the activity centre? Lets see what happens now that Hilton has taken over ownership! Hopefully it starts with an environmental program that supports guests being more thoughtful about their impact on the island: eg, recycling bins in units, promote reducing towel/linen overuse, reducing waste, have a program to reuse guest’s leftover supplies (that benefits wonderful cleaning staff), fish talks/feeding with their fish ponds to educate guests , etc. Kauai is an absolutely amazing place and tourists besides taking up prime real estate, produce a ton of waste and use a lot of valuable resources during their visits. We want to help keep Kauai the amazing island and we are all happy to support any initiatives. Sue Robertson

Nicely appointed rooms with full kitchen- 2 bedroom one with king and one with 2 twins- we had the resort make the two twins into a queen which they did quickly- on-site pool, pool bar, fitness room. Short walk to the ocean. Easy access to local restaurants

We are here with our adult children and 2 2 year old granddaughters. We absolutely love this resort. Everyone is incredibly helpful, and a pleasure to work with. The pool and hot tub are perfect for all of us. The pool bar has a great happy hour and has really good food. Views are spectacular. Kitchen, washer, dryer and 2 large bedrooms with 2 baths. Sitting here watching the turtles roll with the waves and the whales putting on a show. Yes, the rooms are a bit tired but you can’t beat falling asleep to crashing waves. This has been a perfect resort for our extended family.

What a huge disappointment this property was! I was fooled into booking what I thought was a newly constructed Hilton Vacation Club property, but this is just a very old, dated independent hotel that Hilton slapped their name on. Hilton should be ashamed! The property and common grounds are nice, but the rooms are dilapidated and disgusting. Terrible smoke and mildew odors, grimy edges on cabinets, filthy grout in kitchen and bathrooms, ripped carpet, old dirty furniture in the living area and patio, and the most disgusting room phones I have ever seen (not that I use those but I did not want to touch them!). The staff is the only reason I gave this 2 stars instead of one. The front desk staff listened to our complaints about the room, but told us none of the rooms had been renovated. They said the only other room available was in a different building on the second floor (we requested the top floor in advance due to noise, privacy, and safety concerns). We checked out this room and while the odor was not as bad, it was actually on the ground floor with a view of the smoking area and an ugly wall. To make matters worse, we had the bellhop move our bags to this new room because we had to leave for an excursion, and when we returned I found one of our hard-sided suitcases had a huge dent in it! No one said anything to us to claim responsibility for the damage to my new suitcase. We met with the property manager the next morning as she offered us two other rooms, both of which were a big improvement over the previous two rooms because they were on upper floors with ocean views and seemed to be slightly less run-down. However the mildew odor persisted and gave me a sore throat. The property manager ended up discounting our stay to make up for the room condition, the hassle of switching rooms twice, and my damaged suitcase. I do appreciate this, but the experience with this property ruined our trip to Kauai. If our schedule wasn't so busy and if I could have found a room at another hotel, we would have left and stayed elsewhere. However there wasn't much availability and last minute rooms are very expensive here, plus we did not have time to pack our stuff and move to a different hotel for this 3 night stay. I don't understand how anyone could give this place 4 or 5 stars, unless they didn't stay in one of these dilapidated rooms or they have extremely low standards. We stayed at HGV properties on Oahu (Hilton Hawaiian Village) and the Big Island (Waikoloa - Kohala Suites) during this trip and both were outstanding - modern, clean, and with an upscale feel. The rooms here are on par with a run-down Motel 6. I stay at Hilton properties often in many different areas and the rooms here are by far the worst I have ever seen. Stay elsewhere until they renovate the rooms!
