This was my first time to Hawaii ,we went for a wedding and this is the place it was at. I really do not have anything to compare it with, but it was a very nice experience. The Staff at check in and out were always very kind, friendly and very helpful. The bartenders at the beach bar could not have been nicer and very friendly . We had an amazing time here. I do have to say the staff at the restaurant for breakfast always seemed confused. If you wanted to sit outside you could only have 4 people, not 5 but 4. I think it could use an update on the rooms but the reception at the resort was great/
We have stayed here at least 4 times over the years and we love it! There are great swimming pools for kids and even a water slide! We also really enjoyed our morning beach walks. Lydgate Beach is about 5 min away and has a great playground for kids. Staff is friendly and the hotel is centrally located making it a great home base for adventures. We are at the restaurant several times. You can also easily order food online for pick up. On-site gift shop is also a coffee shop which made mornings easy. They also have great snacks, too.
Chasity at the front desk was amazing! When we first arrived she was chatty, funny and very welcoming. We were traveling under the radar for our honeymoon but once she found out she made our stay so unforgettable! She was able to upgrade us to a fancy king bed room, and surprised us with a little champagne and chocolates. An unforgettable experience. The property is beautiful and a great central location.
DO NOT BOOK the ocean view room! We paid over $4,000 for an ocean view room! Im pretty sure had mold all in it! The carpet had never been changed like ever. The carpet was damp. The air in the room felt so thick you could cut it Both my husband and I started getting sick after the 2nd or 3rd night of staying in it. So we complained and they switched us rooms. The room looked nothing like the pictures online! The photo is a picture of the air vent inside the room! 🤢🤢🤢🤢 We arrived home and went to the doctor and we both have an upper respiratory infection which I have no doubt came from that room! We honestly deserve our money back!
We chose this place for its central location and what we thought was reasonable pricing. Booked two rooms - standard king with pool/ocean view- via Booking.com. The rooms we were given were outdated and run down- carpets were dirty and just a general rundown appearance. View was however good, overlooking pool and beach (non swimmable). We enquired about the newly renovated rooms which I had read about on trip advisor reviews. We were told two deluxe rooms would be available two days later but they couldn’t show us a room or show where they were located before that. Thinking the rooms would be better , we chose to upgrade at an extra cost- what a waste! Rooms did not have as good a view, they were closer to the renovations so much noisier ( getting woken up at 8 am to loud drilling and hammering) and except for the bedside lamps, updated prints on walls and towel rail in shower, I couldn’t see any significant upgrade. When I complained about the noise I was told ‘ it says we renovating on the website’. Be careful when u book, quoted price doesn’t include a whole lot of extras including a ‘resort fee’ ( didn’t use anything except wifi) and parking fee. I did factor this in when I did the booking, but don’t think it’s worth it. Rooms were dirty ( nail clippings on floor from someone who stayed before us) and daily cleaning was superficial. Hotel is centrally located to visit both north and south and east sections of the island. Staff generally unhelpful.…
My wife and I arrived at Lihue airport from Toronto by way of Los Angeles stopover Oct 20. We met up with friends and drove a rental to kauai Beach Resort & Spa, which was an easy 10 minutes from the airport. We had a comfortable suite, with balcony overlooking the ocean. Air conditioning worked well. King bed was firm and comfortable. Room and grounds were clean and well-kept. Resort has 3-story low rise buildings spread out. A couple of them were being renovated. Pools were nice and hot tub. Never crowded. Beach was very windy, wavy and not swimmable, because of coral. But, it provided a nice place and view for a walk that could take 30 or more minutes one way. Resort was ok, but not special. There was a main dining room/restaurant and a bar restaurant. Although the dishes sounded good, but none of our group of 7 were impressed with the chef's ability. We stayed on the island for 8 days, and we realized quickly that we were going to have to find restaurants in nearby Lihue for our dinners. We ate out at least 4 times. Food was ok, but not overly memorable. Our reason for going to Kauai was to visit National Botanical Gardens in both the north and south ends of the island. My wife is a horticulturalist and landscape designer. The gardens and other natural wonders around the island did not disappoint. In the Limahuli Gardens at north end of the island we saw site where Jurassic Park was filmed. The island is lush. Tree canopy is incredible along all roads that wind around the edge of the island. I wanted to take a hike in state park adjacent to Limahuli Gardens but didn't realize that I needed to book a reservation. Our group had 2 rental vehicles. One we got from the airport and lines there were terrible. I arranged for a vehicle to be delivered to our resort a few days after our arrival from Turo, which is like Air B&B for cars. Excellent car and service and reasonable rates. I had that car for 5 days. You need a car on Kauai. Hawaiian islands beg to be travelled over.…
The property is beautiful. We got stuck in an old room and we decided it was too small for the 4 of us so my husband went to see what other options were available. There were no suites but there was another room down the hall so we could spread out. We booked another room and decided to spend the extra $$ to enjoy ourselves and not be cramped. Wow what a difference the remodeled rooms make. Our old room felt like a fleabag motel in comparison. When I called the front desk to complain about the variance I got a very rude attitude. I feel like when you are spending this much for 3 days at 1 resort and getting another room they should at least make sure both rooms are comparable? Book this place cautiously.
The location is right on the beach but pretty secluded, you’re not near town or shopping/restaurants. The hotel grounds are pretty!! It’s a beach that I don’t know if it’s necessarily swim-able because of the reef and rocks that are right there, it’s fine for wading and walking the beach! They have several large pools and outdoor lounge areas. The staff was friendly. The room itself needs some updating. It’s not modern or updated by any means. It is a humid climate so the room was a bit sticky. The patio out front was nice and I had a gorgeous ocean and pool view. But you don’t go to Hawaii to sit in the room so it was fine! It just needs a remodel.
I would like to give a huge shout-out to Jasmine at the Front Desk! We needed to make reservations for the Christmas Eve dinner at Naupaka Terrace restaurant and she took care of everything! Thank you, Jasmine, for your kind and gracious service.
The hotel is clean and well managed and the staff are friendly and helpful. We stayed in 2 different rooms, third floor with nice pool and ocean view, then a garden view which really looked at a wet field but the birds were lovely and it was quieter. Both rooms were satisfactory with tv, bar fridge, balcony, and keurig machine. Absolutely no problem with the hotel but I might pick something else next time due to the price. There is nowhere you can walk to from this hotel. I understand now that being on the ocean is unnecessary here. I feel that you can get much more hotel for less money off the ocean. If you want to swim in the ocean, you will should rent a car and go to one of the many beautiful state park beaches. My only small complaint is that the adults only hot tub is constantly full of kids, and nobody tells them to get out.…
