We thoroughly enjoyed our three nights in Kauai Palms Hotel. We were surprised by the elegance and comfort of the cottage, the decoration of the rooms, comfy beds and the supplies of the kitchen, given the affordability of the price. The staff is the most friendly and accommodating. Ron, the manager was giving us amazing lecture on the history and culture of Hawaii, Kauai. There is a nice mini- museum in the office reception area with photos, drawings, tools and weapons, that our children can touch and understand it’s meaning and function. Quiet, peaceful place, not far from the airport, surrounded by nice places to eat. We highly recommend it! ♥️🌺

Aloha Alex! Thank you for staying in our cottage category, which is a 2 bedroom unit with full kitchen. It is affordable and perfect for families or two couples traveling together. Of course we have rooms with a king, queen or two twins, Also, thank you for taking advantage of our display in the lobby of ancient Hawaiian artifacts depicting the culture and history of the people of Kauai. We share this, plus legends and folklore to enhance your visit to our beautiful Garden Island. Mahalo!! Ron

Kauai Palms was a clean, affordable, overnight stay for us. The room was tiny but the bed was comfy. What really made this place special was the gentleman manager (I think, could be owner) who generously gave us a free “tour” of the island culture and history. It made everything else we did on the island so much more meaningful because we knew the significance of the culture and history. He was fascinating and lovely. Mahalo, sweet man.

Aloha Leilani, Kauai Palms Hotel takes great pride in providing "clean, affordable" accommodations for our visitors. We also provide a glimpse into the history and culture with artifacts, pictures, legends and folklore to those that are interested, of course at no charge. Everyone has commented as you did, "the island so much more meaningful." Again, Mahalo (thank you) and A hui hou kakou (until we meet again)! Ron

We got stuck at the Lahue Airport on Friday. Missed our flight and had to stay overnight one extra night. Unfortunately this is the peak of Kauai tourism and all hotels were close to $1000. Last minute we found the Kauai Palms hotel. What a fortunate mishap ! We looked under many hotel websites before stumbling on Kauai Palms. It was well below $200 and we were not disappointed in the least. Rooms are a bit small but very clean. Excellent seabreeze. We checked in completely online. After we unpacked in our room we went downstairs to meet the manager, Ron Kukimoto Ron is a native Hawaiian and hotel host, but before that he is a proud Hawaiin historian and tour guide. In as little time, or in our case almost 2 hours, Ron went through his knowledge and pride of the Hawaiian Islands and its' Peoples. He is particularly interested in the ancient Hawaiians and their way of life and religions. He has a binder full of history and illustrations. He loves to share it with anyone with an interest in Hawaii. Meeting up with Ron and the Kauai Palms Hotel was the High Point of our getting stuck on Kauai for another 24 hours. The Kauai Palms Hotel and Ron Kukimoto are a MUST STAY for all tourists who want to scrape below the surface and larn more about these beautiful islands and their peoples !

At 1/4 of the price you'd pay in major resort hotels, you get a clean and comfortable stay Rooms vary widely; some have a full kitchen, some a kitchenette, some face inner court and some a quiet street All clean and comfortable As Lihue is populated with lots of feral chickens, you will likely awaken to roosters in predawn but it's easy to fall back to sleep The hotel manager, Ron, is a font of information about Hawaiian history and culture and has a large collection of Hawaiian artifacts in the lobby, happy to share his knowledge 1/4 mile from main street in town which has great coffee , eateries , laundromat, museum, parks

We stayed here 2 nights and had a wonderful experience. The staff are amazing and Ron, the general manager, is a true gem. If you get a chance, ask for Ron to “ talk story” with you. You can find out the history and legends of Kaua’i along with seeing many interesting artifacts. You will also hear about many fascinating sites to visit during your stay. We learned so much about Kaua’i and the Hawaiian islands. Ron was entertaining and very knowledgeable and kept us engaged and interested. Hotel room is vintage, is very clean and has everything you need. We were able to drop our suitcase off early and explore the island the day we arrived. Lots of people here from different European countries during our stay. Great food options a couple blocks away and the brewery even has 4 ounce sample sizes so you can try several of their different beers in one sitting. Thanks Ron for imparting some of your knowledge to us. We loved our stay and hope to be back again. Mahalo!

This hotel was perfect for our needs! We landed in Lihue and immediately went to the Palms and had a contactless checkin which was quick and easy! We got up the next morning to head out for the Kalalau Trail where we hiked to the Kalalau Valley and camped at the beach for 5 nights! The Palms stored our luggage while we experienced this adventure and welcomed us back with a clean room, warm shower, and a kitchenette that provided us with ample room and amenities for three adults. During one of our visits to the lobby, we were looking at the historical display and information they have assembled. It was at this time we experienced one of the treasured highlights of our trip. His name is Ron and what a treasure! Ron took the time to share his wealth of information and experience with us. We learned so much! If we/when we return to Kauai, we will be looking to catch up with Ron and return to the Palms and amazing restaurants within walking distance! It’s not the Ritz……..it’s much more personable.

Excellent value, clean hotel in a convenient location. It's an older hotel with a charm of it's own. What sets this hotel apart was meeting Ron, the manager of the hotel. The evening we met him, Ron asked us if we were interested in learning about the history of the Hawaiian people. We said yes and Ron gave us a very interesting talk on the anthropology of the Hawaiian people! It was fascinating and educational to listen to him. Ron is happy to share his knowledge with the hotel guests. Just ask him. It was a unexpected bonus and made our stay there memorable! We would stay there again.

This hotel was awesome! Spacious enough for 4 people. The sink in the bathroom was a little tight but that’s my only complaint. Most places on the island were overpriced to stay at so this spot was worth it. I requested to have a cottage with 2 queen beds, which they didn’t have at the time, but they accommodated and offered to put the twin beds together with a padding on top which made it a king! Good location and privacy although the walls are pretty thin and you can kind of see in the room with the lights on through the curtains. But the location is in the back, not too many people come around anyway m. The sink for one bedroom is outside the bedroom, just fyi. We loved it here. Bed was comfy couch was comfy and we used the eating area too. I recommend this place for a group of 4 or less. Pretty central between hanalei and koke’e. They don’t offer late check out.
