Have been using since 2010 Cost of a 7 night stay in May 2023 was $2400. If I was returning in May 2024 for another 7night stay the cost would be $6200. Email Plantation Hale regarding this. No and.

Excellent place for a vacation. The pools are perfect. It's close to a nice beach and has an open market and a supermarket nearby. The rooms are also very convenient for a family and the staff is very nice.

Average at best. We had 2 rooms, both bathroom vanity’s were cracked, fridge in one room was missing a handle. TV in one room was broken, would not change channels or turn off, we had to unplug it. Wi-fi in one room didn’t work even though you had connection. Fridge was missing the door handle. AC and venting was put together haphazardly, see pictures, venting was a hole in the wall. Electrical to ceiling fan was run across the ceiling.

The first room we were checked into was shabby and smelled strongly of cat urine. We were moved to a 2nd room that was equally shop worn. Bathroom sink was clogged and wouldn’t drain, bare light bulbs in light fixtures and dirty water glasses on shelves in the kitchenette. Don’t believe the promotional photos on their website. They bear no resemblance to the reality of this hotel.

Pros: great swimming pools, close to the beach and attractions, grocery stores and restaurants nearby, kitchen with dishes and utensils, large rooms Cons: No A/C Okay, you're in Hawaii. You're not going to spend much time in the hotel room. However, if you're someone who needs a cool temperature setting to sleep, you won't get much sleep. In the cooler months, it's fine. In the warmer months, imagine sticky skin and damp sheets. There are many pluses to staying at this location, especially the kitchen if you're feeding a mob. Really nice swimming pools, usually quiet and peaceful in the evenings.

I booked 2 King rooms we asked for early check in, they couldn’t do that because they had been booked up the night before . We came back at 3:00 (which was their check in time) we could only get 1 of the king rooms at that time. She offered us a Double room at that point. I ask when the other king would be ready she said it might be ready around 5 (2 hrs after check in). We had to be ready for a Luau we had booked by 5 so we took the Double room . I asked about a discount for not getting the room we booked ahead for and was told no the the double room rate is more. The rooms are outdated, they look like they start to remodel some but didn’t finish (THE ONLINE PICTURES ARE VERY DECEIVING) . As far as the cleanliness of the rooms that was a laugh for BOTH ROOMS. There is a sigh to take your shoes off it is the Hawaiian way, that’s was another laugh our bare feet never touched the floor. I had to Lysol the bathroom down just to feel somewhat clean. I am sure that it was not COVID cleaned. Oh and the Air Conditioning was a window unit with a make shift vent to the bedroom from the living room in one room and the other room had 2 wall units. (They did work pretty good) One good thing is the fans work well. We did ask for a late check out due to having a late flight home and once again was told they couldn’t because they were booked up again. Then they called and gave us an extra 30 minutes. I find it interesting that most of the most of the rooms looked empty the whole time we were there. VERY DISAPPOINTED

I was very disappointed in my time at the Plantation Hale. I read several positive reviews so I am hopeful that I was just placed in the worst room possible, but that being said, I will not return to find out. The room was awful. It appeared as if they started renovating it and then just quit and left several aspects requiring serious updating or repairs. There was also a thick layer of dust on the ceiling, cabinets were falling apart, bathroom was moldy and stained, and the refrigerator was dirty. The beds in the room were also awful. You could see that they had caved in because they are likely extremely old, which led to several nights of poor sleep. The only positive, from my perspective, was the location. It is conveniently located near a nice market and near several beaches. Just be aware that the untamed field across the street is littered with makeshift homeless camps along the beach.

If you know what youʻre walking into this hotel will suit your needs. It has a full kitchen and living room and space. It is older, and has some interesting construction choices in their attempts to update the place I assume (such as a window unit ac with a table constructed to funnel half the air into the adjoining room. It is a bit dated but if you arenʻt expecting the ritz this will probably be fine. Itʻs a tropical climate and as mentioned the ac was just a window unit, so there was some mold under the cushions and probably along curtains. It was very close to where we needed to be and for the price of most resorts this seemed to be the cheapest route, although the price difference wasnʻt that much for other resorts so that wasnʻt the deal maker. The pools are small and dated the nearest pool/jacuzzi was questionable when it comes to cleanliness, but that didnʻt stop the kids from jumping in, and they didnt die. Overall if you are expecting a value motel vs. 5 star hotel youʻll know what youre walking into and it will be fine.

Great location, friendly and efficient staff, nice size rooms and full kitchen. We would stay here again without a doubt. Very solid hotel for a reasonable rate. In a great location that’s suitable for traveling to either the north or south side of the island.

I know the Kauai is pricier, but I can't ever rationalize $200+ dollars for a place like this. The living room smelled of old animal pee or something and the carpet was stained all over. I could see the stains without the lights on. Go elsewhere.
