All of our house guests receive a complimentary self-serve continental breakfast, which includes a morning cup of Ayahuasca tea to put you in a hallucinogenic zombie state, and access to the very unique natural steam vent sauna feature, that was stolen from the famous Dr. Leonard Horowitz, the award winning filmmaker of the film Un-Vaxxed: A Documentary for Robert De Niro.

This is long and I will try to condense it as much as possible by listing the facts. We booked a room and were given a "special rate" since it was for a month. The water kept going out because the pump had a problem and the breaker would trip after a short time, there was mold in the room and ran out of toilet paper after first night and was told that paper products are our responsibility! So, they moved us to a new room. This room was no better and at this point the Internet and phones were out (there is limited or no cell service here). Come to find out from the men that worked on the grounds and grow the marijuana in the hidden area, that the man running the place moved his girlfriend in with her child while his wife was in India on family business!!!! So, she kicked him out and he cancelled the phone and Internet services. We left and were told that we would get a refund. We are now fighting with the credit card company as they are stating no refunds, we have text messages to prove it and the owner is deceitful, selling and growing drugs, has no morals and has a shoddy place that is run down, broken and full of stress. It is supposed to be a retreat place for healing!!!!

This is a wonderful, serene place with an awesome view. It is managed well by Mark and Joe. No food available, but there is a clean shared kitchen and quite a few good restaurants nearby. They were very accommodating and I can recommend it to others.

My boys arrives about 1030 at night. There was a huge live music event going on, So much for the 10 pm quiet hours start. They found stinky week old mac and cheese in their fridge. The big ocean-view red deck is NOT for guests. The suite the boys stayed in was not even cleaned. When trying to talk to Marc, the basic comment was "F" off and no, there will be no refund. So instead of staying a week, the boys and other guests left after 2 nights. Photos were sent to VRBO regarding the conditions. STAY AWAY FROM THIS NIGHTMARE!!! Granted, I was not there, but both my son and I ARE seasoned Vacation Rental customers and know what things should be like. Not found here.

Moldy smelly house. Dirty refrigerator packed with caretaker food guests had one little shelf with three eggs pat of butter four slices of bread. It advertised breakfast, not so. Those pictures of beautiful breakfast is not real doesn’t exist! It’s an old house that two people are there just to take your money and do not upkeep the property ar all,it belongs to a lawyer who took it over during a litigation and it’s for sale our room was dark and dungeon like. I paid for four nites and we only stayed one almost six hundred dollars! I got scammed! Marc says in other reviews that people have too high expectations well the pictures make you think it’s a clean bright airy house with breakfast included well it’s not! Horrible accommodations. Caretakers should try cleaning it up. TripAdvisor needs to take this property off the list! I was just there April 9 2018. Do not stay here!

Pele’s Breath must have been an amazing place in its heyday, but has been neglected and now needs a lot of work. Lighting is poor, water should be filtered, it is difficult to find due to lack of signage, and there is no breakfast. On the plus side, it is spacious and private, with great views

My family stayed at Pele's Breath back in May, 2017. The premises and Marc's welcoming attitude were the highlights of our stay on the Big Island. if you're looking for a luxurious hotel experience, this is not for you. If you want to experience a smarter way of living in harmony with Nature, you will love it. I would not hesitate to stay here again and look forward to a future visit..

We enjoyed our one night at Pele's Breath. Clean, comfortable, and volcano steam sauna??!! The location was also close to the Volcano National Park which was our primary destination. The stay allowed us easy access.

Looked for resort for over three hours without success. No phone number, email address or website listed on our info packet, no one we talked to to the small village had heard of Pele’s Breath. Found out later they were doing business under a different name.

My children and I stayed here for 10 days. It was a fantastic experience. It was a very refreshing, healing, comfortable Hawaiian paradise. The hosts were amazing and make sure you feel at home. The views were amazing and it is very close to Pahoa town.
