My husband and I have never been to a B&B before, but found this house online and decided to give it a try. It wasn't too far from the highway or downtown. We didn't do much research before making the reservation so we weren't sure there was even a shower, of course there was one with a huge whirlpool, so much better than the usual hotel room. My husband wants to install a similar shower head in our own house. Our room was very cozy, had a fireplace and Netflix There was soda and water, platters of fruit, coffee, and hot cider out. We also had the usual toiletries and a hair dryer, which was great because of course I forgot all of that stuff.
Our hosts were very friendly. I'm more of a run into my room and hide type of person, but by the time my husband and I left we shared hugs with our hosts and the bar is so high that I'm not sure I could go back to staying in a hotel. The house is super charming and historical and our hosts were very knowledgeable about all the details and the previous families that lived there. It was also very clean and organized. The hosts were also helpful whenever we needed anything, like silverware for our take out or recommendations of things in the area to do. Super great job!!!

Not only was our stay Covid safe, but it was also warm and welcoming. Everything was clean and we had the opportunity to be engaged with others or remain private. Breakfast each day was amazing. The owners took pride in their preparation of our stay, rooms, little personal touches in the rooms and wanted to make sure we were comfortable. This included a private tea, hot cocoa, and coffee station in each room. Also, there were little chocolate candies and scented bath salt for the bath were a nice touch. Filtered chilled water for each room, as well as a full-size refrigerator, shared on the floor to store our leftovers or cheeses purchased. In that refrigerator, they spoiled us with complimentary rootbeer or cherry soda. The history of the home has been preserved but the high quality of modern-day comfort was never compromised. We highly recommend this stay now and in the future.

We stayed in the Rose Room which had a king size bed and an awesome whirlpool tub. The hosts were super inviting and made us feel right at home. The breakfast was also unique and incredible every day with cookies and other treats available to take as we pleased. There was coffee/tea made available in the room to support less contact as well. Overall I would 100% stay here again. A great value for a weekend getaway :)

We just left and I couldn’t wait to write this review. My husband surprised me with a last minute getaway for my birthday. I had no idea of the absolute treat we were in for! From the moment we pulled up in front of the beautiful home, I knew that the Scofield had a story to tell. From the incredible inviting atmosphere of the huge front porch, to the beautiful woodwork and decor as we stepped inside, to the warmth of the fabulous hosts, Karl and Janet... that was just the beginning! Our “Room at the Top” exceeded every expectation for a romantic and relaxing evening away from home. The room was spotless, the bed and furniture were super comfortable, the huge jacuzzi next to the fireplace called me to return, and the incredibly delicious two-course breakfast was beyond our expectations. Thank you, Karl and Janet, for welcoming us with open arms, sharing in your life, and creating a memorable experience for us to unwind from our big, beautiful family to connect with each other in an intentional and memorable way! We will be highly recommending Scofield, and we will be back soon!

What a wonderful respite we had here! Where do I begin? The hosts were the warmest folks I’ve ever encountered, Janet and Karl made us feel like family from the moment we stepped in this beautiful home! The place is exquisite, the woodwork alone is breathtaking. The home is spotless and lovely and is like stepping into a whole other peaceful world of beauty and comfort. The food and baked goods, simply delicious! I’m a foodie and we hardly needed to eat much after enjoying their bountiful and delicious breakfast, I mean Easter morning brunch type of yummy! The baked goods and healthy snacks made it feel like home once again, they think of everything!!! And to add to this, I left
My clothes behind and they were insistent on shipping rather than make us turn around! We can’t wait to return!! This is a love affair!

We stayed for a week with one couple in the Turret Room and the other in the Waterlily Room. Both were spotlessly clean with very well maintained rooms and fixtures.

Upon arrival the hosts asked whether or not they could service the rooms for us and the extent of the service we wanted. They also accommodated my dietary restrictions, without short changing the other guests. Karl and Janet are generous with their knowledge and kind and willing to go that extra mile for their guests.

If you are considering a base from which to visit Door County, you cannot do better than this! I highly recommend it!

This was our second time staying at the beautiful Scofield House and we will be back again! Janet and Karl are so friendly and welcoming and serve a top-notch breakfast. Extra amenities like fresh homemade baked goods and hot apple cider make us feel spoiled. We love "The Room at the Top" for its spaciousness and privacy, the bed is very comfortable too. Thanks again for a lovely stay!

We've stayed at Scofield House twice before, so it was an easy choice for our honeymoon. We spent four days in the Room at the Top. As always, Janet and Karl were the prefect hosts. The property is impeccably maintained and decorated, breakfast every morning is delicious and interesting and Door County offers countless wonderful sights and things to do. We've traveled a fair bit and frequently choose B&Bs. Scofield House is the very best. I can't recommend it highly enough.

Not knowing what to expect at a B&B, Scofield House exceeded our expectations. Karl and Janet greeted us upon our arrival and were excellent hosts throughout our stay, serving delicious breakfasts, recommending places to visit, and taking time to chat with us. Little touches were great - ice water in our room, fresh made cookies and treats, and cold soft drinks readily available. The rooms decorated per the period of the home with modern touches. I would highly recommend staying at Scofield House.

We stayed four nights at this lovely home and enjoyed ourselves immensely. The “room at the top” is an enormous space with all the modern conveniences you like to have while traveling. Every morning a different gourmet breakfast filled our stomachs and prepared us for the day. Wonderful hosts and a beautiful home make us want to return to Door County soon.
