Door County Dragonfly is a very cute and well-run B&B in Sturgeon Bay, the largest town in Door County. My wife and I visited over the Labor Day long weekend. Lauren and Matt, the owners of Dragonfly, have done a great job. The house is beautiful and classic without seeming dated. The third floor suite, where we stayed, is lovely and spacious with a fireplace and sitting area. For breakfast they had tasty fresh scones and they serve local wine and beer every evening. It's a great base for exploring Door County. We enjoyed our stay very much and would absolutely come again.

We stayed here for two nights in late July and were utterly charmed! Our room was spacious and quiet. The bathroom was clean and while the water wasn't super hot, we still were able to enjoy nightly showers and a relaxing night's sleep. The breakfast was amazing -- they served incredible scones from a local bakery alongside fresh fruit. There was also hot water for tea and a little fridge of complimentary healthy snacks and drinks just outside of our room. As we were checking out, our host sent us home with a bottle of local cherry wine. All in all, a wonderful stay in a beautiful part of Door County!

The home is really a beautiful sight. It is over 100 years old and was owned by one of the oldest families of Sturgeon Bay. You can tell its history by it's small refinements that hark back to the old days. I also love the sun room with the big plant, I was able to read and meditate there, almost like being in the Jungle (I highly recommend).

In terms of the rooms themselves we stayed in the Sunrise room which was beautiful and representative of the history of the building. Beds are also comfortable. One note, the shower is nothing to write home about, but the bathtub is huge/jetted and amazing after a long day of hiking/activities.

Last but not least the hosts are incredible, generous, and all in all wonderful people. Honestly, if you book something with the Dragonfly you can't go wrong, good people, good living, and a fair price.

This historic home is centrally located and walkable to every great eatery and tavern. I stayed in the sunrise room for 3 nights; it was quiet, clean and beautifully decorated. However, the temps outside hit the 90's and the small window air conditioner could not keep up and keep the room cool. The shower water pressure isn't anything to write home about...as noted in an earlier review. If you are used to an old fashion breakfast as most B&B's offer, come prepared for locally baked scones, fresh fruit and coffee. Owners are new to the business and eager to collect feedback as they work hard to meet the needs of their guests and make it a repeat destination for all.

Hi Christine, I am so glad you enjoyed the location of your stay, and thank you for the kind words regarding the character and atmosphere of the home. As mentioned on our website, we do just serve a light breakfast, in addition to a happy hour serving Door County wines, beers, and cheeses. We would have been more than happy to check on the A/C unit more closely (it can get quite chilly when working properly!), and even swap out the shower head while you were out during the day. As mentioned in our reply to the previous review, we have since updated the shower head in the Sunrise Room. Nonetheless, thank you for letting us know so that we can improve the experience for future guests. We hope you enjoyed the remainder of your travels through Door County!

My wife and I have been married for 31 years so we decided to splurge and go on a second honeymoon to celebrate our commitment with each other by spending two days at a bed and breakfast. The Dragonfly Inn was our choice and both of us agree that it was a fantastic decision. The home was beautifully restored, and our room was wonderfully decorated with an extremely comfortable bed. Each evening we were treated to local cheeses, beers, and wines out on the porch and in the mornings, there were freshly baked scones served warm with fresh fruit in a luxurious dining room. Our host, Lauren, often engaged us in interesting conversation during the happy hour and was eager to meet our needs and make our stay comfortable by giving us advice on sightseeing destinations and other local attractions. For our first stay ever at a bed and breakfast, the Dragonfly Inn left an incredibly positive impression on both me and my wife and we are already planning for another outing to this same inn for August 2022.

My partner and I decided at the last minute to book a stay in door county for the 4th of July. Due to the last minute nature we were having a difficult time finding somewhere to stay, only to stumble upon the The Dragonfly, which we are so thankful to have found.

Driving up from Chicago we requested a late check in which was graciously not a problem with owners Lauren & Matt. When we arrived we were greeted by friendly and warm Lauren who gave us a tour of their cozy, eclectic, plant filled, vintage yet modern b&b.

We stayed in the Sunrise room, which was perfect! Spacious, comfortable bed, and wonderful natural light, not to mention a private bathroom the size of some NYC apartments!

Every morning Lauren had a nice breakfast spread of yogurt, fruit, and the best scones we have ever had (locally sourced)! This was the perfect way to start our days, and allowed us to get to know the history of the b&b and surrounding area curtesy of the very personable Lauren.

Overall, the dragonfly was the perfect spot for us looking for a weekend getaway. Being central to town allowed us to explore via feet, and appreciate all Sturgeon Bay has to offer. The b&b was clean, and well maintained. We strongly recommend to those looking for a quaint place to stay! We hope to be back again soon.

Wonderful place to stay, with spacious rooms and a cozy inviting atmosphere. The rooms were wonderful and the cocktail hour was great. Lauren and Matt were wonderful hosts, very accomodating to all of our requests! They are very knowledgeable about the area historically and also for recommendations for food, drinks, and things to do while we were there! Highly recommend the door county dragonfly for your stay!

Room was very comfortable and the home is located in a nice part of town within easy walking district of entertainment and shops. Coffee was available early morning with a continental breakfast. Happy hour at 4:00 was welcoming and very comfortable.

We visited Door County Dragonfly when it was still a bit chilly outside, but the warmth of the hosts completely made up for it.
The location is amazing, just a short walk from most of the spots in Sturgeon Bay. The rooms were great as well. We stayed in the third floor suite, which was just amazing as it had a large bedroom, huge bathroom and even a small den area.
Matt and Lauren were great throughout our stay, and even had some delicious pastries available in the morning.
Overall, very happy with the experience, so much so that we have already booked a return trip for this summer.
P.S. Only a short 4 hour drive from Chicago, a great getaway option.
