We once again visited Chanticleer Inn for post-Christmas me/us time! Deeply relaxing, immaculately clean, quiet and tranquil setting. We love the Christmas tree in our suite! And the wood burning fireplace of the lobby of the Barn. Darrin is always friendly and helpful - his breakfast baskets are delightful, and the afternoon cookies decadent!! This is our "Happy Place" no matter the season or time of year!
We visited as part of our honeymoon in Door County. I wanted somewhere quiet after our wedding so that we could unwind and this was perfect. We loved the sanctuary-like location and closeness to Sturgeon Bay. Our room had a lovely cozy feel and the intimate breakfasts were divine. I’m still thinking about this place months later as I plan our next adventure. This was our first bed and breakfast experience and Chanticleer Guest House sure set the bar high! We will definitely be back.
Not one negative thing to say about this outstanding guesthouse. Stayed in a cabin-spectacular. Quiet, clean, and comfortable. We were there on a rainy weekend to ride the Door County Century. Rode on Saturday instead of Sunday. Walked the trails on the property when the rain finally stopped in the early afternoon on Sunday. Already booked our cabin for next year. I’m thinking of other reasons to go to DC just to stay here. Don’t really need a good reason though.
I had the loft room, which had a separate stairway from a sitting area down to the pool area in addition to the regular door. Have to watch your head coming in the main door. The bed was low as it was in a cubby with a low ceiling. Large bathroom nicely appointed with plush towels provided. Mini-fridge in the room. Breakfast is not communal but brought to your door at the time of your choosing between 8 and 10. The breakfast was very nice and included a different hot dish each day. The grounds are expansive with well-maintained paths for a stroll, a pond, lots of flowers, and sheep grazing. There was a large jacuzzi tub right in my room (not in the bathroom), which I enjoyed. There's a gas fireplace opposite it you could light in the winter.
My partner and I spent our honeymoon in Door County. We stayed in the Evergreen Cottage and everything was wonderful. The house was so clean - I don't think I've ever stayed in a cabin that spotless. Loved the updated Door County food/activity magazines; we found some great spots using those. Having the Guest House as our home base was perfect. Also loved the pride flag <3 Thank you so much for this amazing B&B!
This place is awesome!! From Darrin checking us in, to his great homemade cookies, awesome breakfasts, beautiful gardens. pool and sweet rooms... I can't say enough good. Grab a bottle of wine and enjoy the scenery, walk the property and say hello to the sheep! Close to town but feels like you are in the middle of no where. Loved it - Darrin's egg casserole was SO excellent that I emailed him when I got home and he did send me the recipe. I would love to stay here again!
This was a wonderful place to stay! I loved how the bring the breakfast to your room! The grounds were so pretty & it was close to most things in Door County! The owners were very helpful! If we ever get back this will be our first choice to stay! Wonderful!!
This was our first visit to the Chanticleer Guest House, but we hope to be regulars from here on. Our room was so lovely, clean, spacious and well appointed. Right outside our room (the Stables suite) was a beautiful garden and a charming set of chairs and a table. We ate our delicious breakfast here both mornings and enjoyed the peaceful atmosphere. Having the amazing breakfast delivered to our room was so special and added to the quiet weekend we were looking for. Not everyone would enjoy spending the entire weekend at the fabulous heated pool, but we did! We don’t get enough of that in Wisconsin! We look forward to coming back in the winter as well. The hosts have gone to great lengths to make this a wonderful place- and it shows!
We’ve been here many times and continue to enjoy each visit. Darrin & Bryon are true professionals and provide the best for a guest experience. You can’t ask for much better between fabulous suites, beautiful property, breakfast and amazing cookies. We travel often and this continues to be our favorite annual getaway.
After spending the days taking in the adventures that Door County had to offer coming back to Chanticleer was like coming home. No lobby,no elevator no strangers to have small talk with just an absolutely easy restful place to come home too. Our son and daughter in law stayed here and told us we would love it and they where right.
