The Garden Gate is a premier Victorian bed and breakfast. It welcomes you with its friendly hospitality and elegant breakfast served every morning in the dining room, accompanied by music and candlelight. End your day with an evening dessert...a good night's sleep and dream about your breakfast..Because.."Breakfast is our Signature"
We had a wonderful trip there between October 13th and 15th. Robin is an amazing host, Cooks an amazing breakfast and is a wonderful conversationalist and entertainer in her own right! You get much more than a beautiful room with all the amenities -- and a great location from which you can explore Door County Wisconsin, you enjoy a great experience with a phenomenal hostess! We've been going to the garden gate off and on since 2008, and love every trip we've made. I highly recommend you stay there if you can!

A wonderful Bed and Breakfast with the BEST baked from scratch Breakfast ever! Robin, the owner is cheerful and informative, not to mention the best cook, next to my own Mother. Her home is comfortable and charming. Very clean, with all the amenities. We can see why several guests are returning guests.

My husband and I stayed at the Garden Gate for three nights last week in the Lavender Room and have a very pleasant experience. Robin is a gracious hostess and phenomenal cook. You will not leave her table feeling hungry! Each breakfast included juice, water, coffee or tea, fresh fruit/yogurt, a homemade muffin (which she will happily wrap in foil for you to take away since you will likely be too full), and a delectable main course. Our request to have the front flood lights toned down a bit so we could enjoy the Lavender Room's private balcony in the evening was immediately accommodated. Although you cannot see the water due to the shipyard buildings across the street, Garden Gate is an easy walk to shops and restaurants downtown. Sturgeon Bay seems to pride itself on its walkability and I agree!…

Room Tip:While this is not the place to stay for a water view, it was a very nice B&B.

Robin is a delightful host who does a great job---she was very friendly and outgoing and joyful in her job. We stayed 3 nights and enjoyed our stay immensely. Breakfasts were excellent and plentiful. Robin has the yard nicely decorated with pretty flowers, etc. The location was perfect for walking down the block for the Harvest Fest, which in itself is reason to visit Sturgeon Bay. There are numerous places to eat nearby.

My boyfriend and I stayed at Garden Gate on our first trip to Sturgeon Bay. We stayed in the Vintage Rose Room, which was on the second floor. It was a decent size and had really nice air conditioning given the age of the house. The location was fantastic for those staying closer to Sturgeon Bay (as opposed to going further into Door County), and the pricing was very affordable, especially for the experience we had. The bathroom was a bit of an odd shape, and the lack of a door between the room and the toilet was a little unusual, but we were easily able to work around it given the shape of the space. The highlight of the experience was definitely the innkeeper, Robin. She was very accommodating when we arrived late on our first night, and she was more than happy to provide suggestions for where to go cherry-picking on our way out of town at the end of our stay. One thing that I loved is that when we described what we were planning on doing, she took the time to remember what we were up to and asked us about it the next day at breakfast. It's very clear that she cares about her guests' experience and wants them to have an amazing time. We also adored her food, and one thing I just love is that she's not shy about sharing her recipes - they're on her website! We loved the foods she chose, and we'll be nabbing some of those recipes to make ourselves (though I'm not sure we'll be able to top Robin's versions - they were delicious)! All in all, we had a wonderful experience, and I'd highly recommend Garden Gate Bed & Breakfast for those visiting Sturgeon Bay.…

Beautiful victorian home with an excellent location for getting around the Door Peninsula. Robin is very friendly. And her breakfasts were to die for! A baked cherry french toast casserole, individual quiches, a variety of muffins and wonder fruit with breakfast. Can't go wrong.

My wife and I had a wonderful time. The room was clean and comfortable, and the food was excellent. The manager was friendly, helpful and very knowledgeable about the area. You could tell that she was proud of her business and her community. We would happily stay there again, and we recommend the Garden Gate B&B to anyone staying in the Sturgeon Bay area.

A small historic mansion with charm, matched by an equally charming and engaged innkeeper! Robin treated us like family, provided us each day with a hearty homemade breakfast, paying attention to details such as dietary restrictions, eager to disseminate history and advice on area attractions. The premises are spotless and full of interesting details that make an overnight stay here to be fun and memorable for all family members.
