We stayed at the resort with another couple for a long New year's stay. We enjoy the location of this resort, close to restaurants, bars and shopping. We had a great time at the Packers football game party in the Pub. The only thing that was a bummer was the New Years Eve party. It was so crowded you could not even get on the dance floor, people spilling drinks on the dance floor. We love the Cougars band but with it being so crowded it was not as much fun as it has been in the past years. Maybe you should make people purchase tickets so you can limit the number of people at the party so that everyone can enjoy and have a good time. One of the younger female bartenders that was serving in the hotel hallway during the party even remembered my husband's drink from previous years, now that is impressive.

We stayed at this resort for another New Year's Eve celebration. This year probably was not our favorite one but we still enjoyed the celebration. The carpeting in the rooms and hallways definitely are in need of updating. The bathrooms also could use an update with larger modern showers etc. We enjoyed the band in the pub on New Year's Day better than the one for the New Year's Eve celebration. Front desk personnel will wonderful as always. Ryan and Johnnie Walker in the pub area were great again.

Will 100% come back. Great location, a block from town and right on the harbor. Town is great lots of restaurants and shops. Location is great too. We have been all the way to Washington Island. Every town on the way is the same. The further you go north the more expensive the rooms and they are not as nice. You can be in Egg Harbor and Baileys Harbor in less that 30 minutes you don’t need more.
We Kayaked 15 minutes from the hotel, you can go horse back riding 5 minutes away. The rooms are nice. Everything was clean and everything worked. Outdoor dining and bar on the water. Pool OK. So why not a five. You only get one chance to make a first impression and for that matter a last one too. Upon arrival no hello or welcome. “ Your name, sorry your rooms not ready check back later “ Not a single other word. Came back an hour lady and another lady was there. I asked if she can check if our room is ready we were here an hour ago. Boy did I disturb her! She did have our room. Gave me the keys pointed to the stairs and elevator and said either one. LOL, not a welcome or have pleasant stay. Did not point out the pool or the bar. Last impression at check out. I said checking out, third front desk person “ would you like your receipt “ yes please. Handed it to me and walked away. No Thank you, No how was your stay, No come and see us again. WOW.

To start with this property was in terrible condition compared to the photos etc they advertised. The carpets in hallways were sooo soiled and disgusting. And the rooms were VERY dated in decor. But the actual reason for the review is the terrible treatment and staff disregard for our questions and complaints was fully insulting. We were NEVER informed there would be a live band playing outside our room til well after 10PM, and when we asked about it we were informed that its just the way it is but they could move us to a different wing into a lesser room for the same price tho !! the music was just loud enough to be heard but not understood and was not part of my expected weekend with what we had going on event wise. Then we found out that even at this supposed high end resort they dont do room service daily, no towels replaced or a quick vacuum or anything. You are expected to go to the front desk and ask for extra towels etc we were informed when we asked. Which I guess could have been mentioned in the advertising that it was a semi-selfserve high end resort??? Totally dissapointed in quality and service at the property and I couldn't even tip the room service people as they never gave any service that would warrant it . The people that had recommended it were very embarrassed as they understood it was supposedly a nice place to stay. I would say we could give it a -1 stars as it really was a disappointment for what they advertise for us to expect at least a Budget Host quality for the high price you pay? just sad and the staff just didn't have anything to offer as a relief plan . I would NEVER tell anyone a place as bad as this would be anywhere to stay especially at the exorbitant
price.

We were somewhat disappointed in the Stone Harbor. We did not find the staff to be very accommodating or cordial, at all. The room was dated and the HVAC blew cold air on me throughout the night, making it difficult to sleep. The location is exceptional, however. Parking is acceptable and reasonably secure. Staff adhered to distancing and mask wearing requirements.

Our recent stay at Stone Harbor Resort once again did not disappoint! There are many different room configurations to choose from to suit your specific wants/needs, which make it a perfect choice for a getaway. Exceptional accommodations include options for rooms with view of Sturgeon Bay Harbor, fireplace, jacuzzi tub, kitchen/dinning area, and of course comfortable beds/pillows, and most important, cleanliness throughout the resort. The pool area is spacious including the hot tub. These amenities along with their friendly staff, great food, live entertainment, and close to Door County's adventures are the reasons we keep coming back!

We came here in September for my son's birthday, per his request. In the past we have had great experiences. When we arrived we found out the hot tub was drained and out of service for the weekend. Once in the pool, the sauna also wasn't working. This was a MAIN reason for my son wanting to come. A freezing pool didn't cut it. At night as a big group my husband and I used the pull out bed. It was the most uncomfortable bed I have ever slept on. Management needs to sleep on that bed and they will then upgrade. I strongly believe when facilities are out of order and we are paying hundreds of dollars, with a lot of planning, we need to be told that prior to arriving. We would not have stayed there and at that point nothing else was open. I wrote to management after without a response as well. Won't be back :(

Staff was very polite and helpful. Masks were worn by all employees
Waterfront view is spectacular! The bar & restaurant was fun and offered good food and drinks. Live music was a bonus! Bands were fun, lively and family friendly.

A patio overlooking the harbor/marina/bridge with less than 10 tables - nice view. They have plenty of room and could benefit from spacing them out more for improved distancing.

Food was serviceable. Did not regret our lunch but would not seek it out again. Nacho platter was large but the ingredients were not high quality. Unfortunately both the ground beef and melted cheese were tasteless. salsa from a jar plus tri-color chips you would buy in bulk from a warehouse store. Could benefit from higher quality and better tasting ingredients.

My husband and I recently spent a week at Harbor Club Marina in Sturgeon Bay. We lived on a boat so we were able to effectively social distance from others. It was a warm week so one of the nights we treated ourselves to a night at Stone Harbor Resort. We were very impressed with the COVID-sensitive check in and check out practices. Only one person was allowed to approach the registration desk, masks were worn by all, and plexiglass barriers were in place.

The room was lovely and we thoroughly enjoyed our stay. Guests were spread throughout the hotel and we did not see anyone else near our room.

Unfortunately, the good COVID practices ended at the registration desk. We were disappointed to see the outside patio bar was open and gatherings of large groups was encouraged by the table arrangement. No one was wearing a mask.

We come from a community where everyone is taking this seriously and the mayor sets a good example by regularly encouraging people to wear masks and placing restrictions on the number of customers in bars and restaurants. It was disappointing to see that Stone Harbor, which evidenced so much care for its employees and customers when checking in at the hotel, did not apply similar practices at its patio bar. While the risks are somewhat diminished in an outside setting, the virus is still out there. Even if you have no concern for your own safety, the least you can do is show some concern for those around you. The numbers in Wisconsin are rising exponentially because too many people are acting as if nothing is wrong. This won’t go away until we all do our part and take this seriously.

Stone Harbor got part of it right, but it has a ways to go before it gets a high rating from me.
