After quite a long (solo, very isolated) drive from NH, I felt relief when I arrived at Justin Trails Resort. I cannot stress enough how picturesque this location is! I stayed in the Queen Suite and it was well stocked with a big fluffy bed, extra soft towels, and a soaking tub with jets for two. I wish I'd have used it! My dog, Ivan, was thrilled to walk the large, manicured property at any given chance, and I was made to feel welcomed with him. Traveling with pets isn't always easy, but I felt totally comfortable with him here.
I would highly recommend staying here if you're considering it!

We had a fantastic time at Justin Trails Resort....it was the perfect little get-away for our family and allowed us to slow down and enjoy the simple things in one of our favorite spots...the Driftless. The resort is well maintained and had lots of space for our active family and lab/shepard mix to wander and explore. Although we didn't take advantage of it, the 18 hole disc golf course was quite unique. The kids loved feeding and spending time with the llamas, while also running freely and enjoying the campfire (even in the rain). Host, Donna, was very accommodating and according to my 8 year old daughter, "was a nice and loving person". Her breakfasts were delicious, specifically the homemade granola and scones. She has an old "player piano" in the Lodge, which was entertaining for all! The cabin that we stayed in, Paul Bunyan, was perfect for our family of 4 and our dog. The kids loved watching movies (the Lodge is well stocked with movies and games to borrow) while sitting in the whirlpool tub, and my husband and I enjoyed our cocktails on the back porch. We have stayed at a variety of spots in the Driftless region, and this is definitely one we will be returning to.

I was not want for anything. The comfy lounges, great bath facilities, and beautiful landscape took care of it all. Doubled by Donna's asking to ensure we had just what we needed, even offering to help plan some activities for the day- which she is located near a bunch! Outstanding breakfast welcomed me first morning,and the ease of it all was just what I craved on this trip. Don always ready with a wave as he stays busy, and all staff working different sections of land to keep it all very functional, accessible, and scenic. Top quality stargazing to boot, I'm already planning my return, and many more. My son, dog, and I were quite welcomed through our stay, and we stayed in a tipi they have set up on their land, and felt well taken care of by accommodations- very excited to stay in one of their impressive cabins. Very affordable stay for high quality.

We booked a lovely week long stay at this resort during a home renovation with three kiddos under the age of five comeing along with us. We were soo thrilled to finally be staying here . We got to our cabin after a confusing check in process and started settling in including wiping up globs of white hair from the drains. Just as we relaxed and turned on some cartoons in the paul bunyon cabin ....a bat few out and started swooping down at me and the kiddos. Not a huge deal as we are in the woods these things happen, however the owners did not have the means to remove the bat and we were relocated to another cabin , which was not cleaned (still contained garbage , dog food etc. from previous guest.) again I so wanted to have fun and enjoy this stay I simply cleaned that up and we settled in yet again. On the third night of our stay I found mice crawling around in the bathroomand kitchen area of the other cabin(the blue one) and decided we should leave ...which babies crawling around on the same floor we just didnt feel comfortable staying. The owners comped our stay , but did act as though we were silly for not being comfortable staying in cabins with pests. not a resort ...also the cabins are insanely small for the prices being charged and the pictures are misleading

I just got married at Justin Trails Resort on June 5. I have nothing but amazing things to say about the facilities. The rooms are gorgeous, the barn is well-maintained and cools off quickly for summer weddings, and the views are unbeatable. But what really makes this place special is the wonderful crew of people who work there. Dawn, Don, and Donna are some of the most welcoming and kind people you will ever meet! They all went above and beyond to make sure weeds were pulled, grass was cut and swept, trash bags were emptied, the list goes on! If you are looking for an unforgettable place to celebrate your marriage then look no further.
We are so thankful and feel so lucky that we found this place and we can't wait to stay here in the future with our families and when we celebrate our anniversary. We want to thank Justin Trails Resort from the bottom of our hearts for making our wedding weekend so magical.

Our stay here was so relaxing. As we drove up the driveway to the Lodge and it's cabins and cottages surrounded by green hills and pastures, we knew we were in for something special. We weren't disappointed. The innkeepers have done a wonderful job with this inn.
Dawn came out to greet us. She was friendly, welcoming, and put us at ease right away. She gave us a tour of the grounds. Dawn then showed us to the Garden Suite, which we had booked.We met Donna and Don in the lodge who were warm and welcoming. The whole place is well maintained and very clean.
The suite was lovely with a charming porch. The bed with its soft linens was very comfortable. The suite had conveniences such as a fridge, utensils, smart t.v. a sofa with a throw,a thermostat so that we could control the temperature in the room. The bathroom was wonderful. It was decorated in beautiful colors, had luxury robes and the walk in shower with its flexible height shower head was so convenient if you didn't want to get your hair wet. Again, the suite like everything else here was spotless.
We took Heidi their dog for a wonderful walk on one of the many trails here. We went to feed Dusty the Llama. We had a wonderful conversation with Donna over a glass of wine. Then the next day woke up to a delicious breakfast in bed. The whole stay was pure bliss. Frankly, better than any of our stays that we had in five star hotels in California a couple of weeks before.
So if you are looking for a lovely, peaceful retreat with wonderful inn keepers, then Justin Trails is for you. It truly has to be one of the finest inns in Wisconsin. I highly recommend it.

Beautiful big piece of land with cabins and trails. We had a wonderful time exploring around. Plus it’s family owned and they host weddings in the barn! It has a B&B feel with breakfast in the morning and special attention paid to our needs. And there were llamas!

We stayed in the "glamping" cabin for a sisters gathering. A storm was going through while we sat at the little table and worked on a craft project, safe and cozy inside, laughing and drinking the wine we brought in the wine glasses that were provided. When the storm was over, it was so peaceful, so beautiful outside....all the greenery so bright and freshly washed. Thoroughly enjoyed our visit. A full breakfast was included with our stay, and it was totally delicious!

I booked a long weekend at Justin Trails for a milestone birthday getaway! It was just me and my 2 fur babies and we had a fantastic time! It was wonderful hiking through the groomed trails and woods with dogs allowed off leash. Relaxation with a fireplace and jacuzzi tub! Solitude and a true sanctuary to kick off the next best half of my future with reading, movies, self reflection and painting. Great local restaurants. The llamas were delightful and ate out of your hand, so curious and gentle. Breakfast was amazing! It is a hidden gem in the hills of Sparta! Donna was so accommodating and had wonderful recommendations. It was quaint, cozy and homey! Highly recommend staying here.

We rented the teepee for a one-night stay including three children aged six and up.
The welcome that we received upon arrival was lukewarm at best, but during that brief encounter the owner mentioned that some work was being done on our site and it didn't look great.
What they failed to mention was that there was no picnic table or fire pit as advertised, rather there was a concrete pad with a rickety contraption in which one was supposed to make fire (in our case, feed the family).
Around the entire perimeter of this concrete pad was a channel 10-12 inches wide and at least 6 inches deep, of loose soil and sod making it at a considerable trip hazard, particularly with young children.
The teepee had no floor, which is not disclosed anywhere on the website, and was musty and mildewy.
Had we arrived earlier in the day we would have immediately left. The owner did disclose that only the day before someone had, in fact, done so.
