We took our chances on getting a last minute room at the Blue Harbor Resort and we weren’t disappointed how accommodating they were. We got a beautiful queen bed room on the bottom floor, which I don’t really recommend if you want a lake view as it was barely visible . But beggars can’t be choosers! The room
Was freshly cleaned and obviously disinfected for covid as it smelled of bleach which was very comforting! We were overall pleased. You cannot control people though as there were several entering the building without masks. We found this to be true throughout all of the people on the harbor in restaurants etc. We highly recommend the Blue Harbor for its beautiful location and accommodating, pristine clean environment .

This was our first trip to Blue Harbor. We have three kids under 10, so we are Midwest water park veterans.

The water park itself was really nice. During our stay, not crowded at all. Walk right up to anything except the SurfRider, which is amazing. The air handlers in the pool area seemed to do a great job, it never smelled of chlorine or made us cough. Slides were fun if a little boring, but the Surf Rider is there for bigger kids. The still pool is huge and calm. Noise factor is a little much, and there's not really a good toddler pool - the structure for them has water spraying everywhere, which very few toddlers approve of.

The room (we booked a family suite) was huge, 2 queens and a sleeper, and on the ground floor we were literally steps to the water park. One major complaint in the rooms : the walls are paper-thin, and the 16' ceilings are very very loud and echo-y. We heard our neighbors partying until midnight, and I'm sure they were very happy to have our toddler wake them up at 7.

The main restaurant is shut down, and the bar was running on an absolute skeleton crew of 1. The food, once we managed to order it, was actually really good.

Overall, good trip, happy kids, exhausted parents. Would stay again.

We have been coming to Blue Harbor for nearly a decade and have made such great memories with our family/friends, however we were very disappointed in our recent experience. New Management no longer offer Military and/or AAA discounts. Rates have increased but condo conditions (furniture and flooring are getting old) and follow through with customer service (room cleanliness) appear to be decreasing. Nice to have a full kitchen available but do not except it to be fully stocked with cookware.

My husband's job took him to Sheboygan and I accompanied him. We've been to Blue Harbor in the past, but it had been two years since our last stay there. In so many ways, this place has gone downhill since our last visit. First of all, there's NO housekeeping service. I know that many hotels cut back on housekeeping services because of Covid concerns, but the vast majority have restored those services by now.

Blue Harbor guests who need supplies, fresh towels, etc., hang a request tag on the door and supplies are provided via "contactless delivery." But the rooms don't get vacuumed, cleaned, or sanitized during your stay, regardless of how long you're there.

As for the balconies outside the rooms, well, those probably haven't been touched since my last visit, two years ago. There were webs with insects/debris over most of the balcony and the balcony railings were in dire need of paint and other maintenance (see my photos).

The entire property is in serious need of updating. The bathrooms are tiny, with most rooms having sinks that are outside the bathroom. And don't get me started on the bathtubs... they are so high that I literally struggled to get in (I've had a hip replacement which added to the challenge), so slippery as to be dangerous, and have no grab bars anywhere (unless you want to grab onto a nearby towel bar for support). There are a few rooms in the hotel that are designated "business traveler rooms" with updated features and showers in place of tubs, but we weren't able to snag one of those.

Clearly the owner of the Blue Harbor doesn't care about guest satisfaction, hotel amenities, or guest services, which is a shame since the property is in a lovely location and has great potential.

This was our second stay at Blue Harbor Resort but first staying in the Villas section. Beware when you stay in the villas, your walk to the waterpark is outside. Luckily we were in the villas closest to the waterpark so wasn't much of an issue. The 4 bedroom villa itself was well laid out and clean. Really nice large deck which would have been fun had it been warmer. The cleaning staff came through to collect garbage and ask if we needed anything which was nice. The villa complex itself is a little weirdly laid out as the doors are inside towards the courtyard, i.e. you have to haul all your stuff all the way around the building from the parking lot and the building numbers are on the inside as well which was confusing to us. The waterpark was the perfect size for our three kids 12, 9 and 6. My 6 year old could ride everything she wanted to (maybe not the flowrider?) by herself. My older boys absolutely loved the flowrider and lifeguards were helpful in teaching them tricks. Plenty of lifeguards in the waterpark and seemed quite light and clean. The snack bar inside is reasonable and fairly decent concession stand type food. Looks like it would be a pretty place to stay in the summer, we will be back.

Went with family, about a 45 minute drive and $350 not including food. Yet, this was extremely worth it. The waterpark was easily accessible and wasn’t a long wait to get in, the water itself was warmish but not hot nor cold. Though do try not to get any water in your mouth, its very salty and bad tasting. Besides that, the Lazy River was especially fun. There wasn’t any people pushing you around or really any people at all. The rooms are very clean, We stayed in a room with a whirlpool, king sized bed, and a couch that pulls out to be a bed. Enough room for maybe 4-5 people if you’re willing to sleep in the same bed as another. But back to the clean part, it was extremely clean. Wasn’t any mold, bugs, dust, or anything as such. The whirlpool is big enough to fit two extremely large and tall people with enough room to be comfortable. The beach didn’t have many people near it, amazing place to walk down or swim in (only if you can handle the cold.) Many sea shells around, family had a fun time collecting those. The indoor waterslides didn’t have long lines, could easily get on and get off many times without long waits. Yet, some parts of the waterpark were a bit broken. Such as, the water guns that you can use to squirt people going down the green and blue slides, some of the buckets that drop water down on people, and many others thing. The receptionist was kind and we didn’t have to wait in a very long line just to check in. The on the rocks bar and grill had very good food, and sweet helpful staff along with baristas. We didn’t go to the massage area as it was WAY too expensive, $200 for a simple massage and wax? overpriced. Many smokers, clearly not listening too the rules of course. Though, if you are impatient, bring your own towels; There was a very long line in the “Exchange wet towels for dry towels” booth. The hotel room that we stayed in was very spacey, especially the bathroom. The bathroom includes a large bathtub with a shower which comes with soap and conditioner, a clean sink with a blow drier, and a (clean) toilet. Overall, it was very fun and a clean space. It is pricey, yet worth it for the family.

We spent 3 nights here in July with 2 kids ages 6 and 7. After reading some reviews, I was bracing for a dated waterpark type hotel but was pleasantly surprised. Our room (kids boat room, city view - lake view was not available but I'd opt for that next time!) was large and we appreciated a balcony. Since the hotel is only 3 floors, we didn't have to worry about the kids sitting out there and being too high up. The room was decorated like a boat with blue carpet; read, not the most modern decor but it was clean and sinks were low enough kids could reach to wash hands. I also enjoyed that everything felt very accessible - we could quickly use the stairs to get to the water park/pool, out our room was the coffee/deli, down the hall was ice, restaurants, etc.

While the kids enjoyed the waterpark features, the outdoor pool option elevated our experience. It didn't feel like we were stuck in a waterpark all day, we could do the slides and indoor attractions but then spend a good part of the afternoon outside, in the pool and having snacks and drinks. After that we'd go play on the lawn, walk to the beach and come back for S'mores. In the evening, we enjoyed a walk down the Pier to the local restaurants, which felt kind of secluded and very safe. Or sit on the balcony and listen to life music over dinner.

One evening we even ventured to downtown to the Hibachi restaurant (Umi) which was really fun for the family. Also, don't forget the Bookworms Garden for kids, a really cute idea that gave us something to do one morning. All in all, an affordable and fun Midwest family getaway destination.

When booking we were never told there would be an amenities hold on my credit card, which was $200 more than the balance owed after our down payment. When confronted about this, the management team never contacted us back. Also, if you lose ( or someone at the park takes ) your towel you get charged $25 per towel. Luckily we read the fine print on the back of the towel card when they gave them to us. They never mentioned this at check in. I find that organizations who hide or disguise fees are not to be trusted.

Dear Companion23680848846, Thank you for your honest review and rating on your recent visit. We do collect a card at check in and do an authorization hold (not a charge) for every guest upon arrival. This function allows guests to have the ability to charge anything in the resort back to their room key. However, the lack of communication on our part is understandably frustrating, and equally that you requested management to discuss and were not contacted. On behalf of the entire Blue Harbor Team, we sincerely apologize. We do appreciate you staying with us, and do hope to have the chance to see you again and help ensure a more positive experience.

3 friends of mine and our kids spent 2 nights in a 4 bedroom lake view villa this past weekend and it exceeded our expectations in every way. At first I was disappointed that our villa was one of the furthest from the waterpark & Resort but we ended up being in a perfect location to the beach, which was right in front of our building. The bonfire at night and bags games were a perfect touch to an amazing summer night with ours kids. There is a cute little boardwalk area with restaurants and an ice cream parlor within an easy walk from the resort. Everyone had a blast and the only downfall was not having more time there!!! Being in the midst of the Covid pandemic, the resort was definitely not at capacity and we all felt very safe. We will definitely be returning very soon!!!
