My husband and I stayed here for our anniversary which is a yearly tradition of picking a new town with a new bed and breakfast. The inn was gorgeous extremely clean and private, at first glance I was disappointed that there were no seats to sit outside on a beautiful September day but we made due. The honor bar was interesting they said there would be beer and white wine in the fridge which I found no white wine and only 2 beers. I first just wanted a bottle of water which I found none so I checked out the selection of wine but found no ice and no two matching wine glasses. Regardless the room and property were clean, we settled on two drinks and relaxed on a lounge on the wrap around enclosed porch. One of my favorite things about a bed and breakfast is the breakfast I literally was so excited for the breakfast to only be extremely disappointed. It was a small cup of fruit a pastry and a fry egg and bacon (never found any bacon) frittata, we checked out grabbed coffees down the road and cheese curds at a local cheese store…
This was a spur-of-the-moment trip. I called Jean directly using the number on the website. She promptly returned my call and made arrangements for a room that evening. Heather met me at the Inn and gave me a tour of this BEAUTIFUL Victorian gem. COVID-19 restrictions had just been lifted (somewhat) and the martini bar was closed. The honor bar was open, however, and I made myself a drink. Exploring this amazing property is fun in itself. The common areas are well-appointed and clever in design. The detail in the construction and finish were stunning. I love historic buildings! The room was likewise well-appointed, comfortable, and aesthetically pleasing. The bed and pillows were extremely comfortable and the bathroom was super, squeaky-clean. Breakfast was delightful. Fresh-squeezed orange juice, coffee, and gourmet omlet were a treat. Fresh fruit and pastries were available as well. I was sorry I only spent the night and not a weekend or longer.…
Some reviews for this B & B are noted in the reviews for sister property, The Lauerman House, also in Marinette. However, these are two separate properties! The M & M Victorian Inn looks quite attractive online and, in person, does look nice. This community has some gorgeous well-maintained homes--but also many, sad tired homes in a town that seems to have seen better times. In fact, the M & M Victorian sits next to a property that has certainly seen better days and looks to be in the process of being restored. On the plus side, the hostess Heidi, was extremely kind, professional and helpful. She made us feel welcome. She also prepares a mean breakfast that was delicious and attractively presented. There is the 1893 Lounge (Martini bar) right downstairs on the first floor of the M & M Victorian. While the upstairs tries to carry through an "antiquey" theme, the lounge is bold and brightly colored. Perfect if you want to party, drink, and walk upstairs to your room. On the minus side, there is the 1893 Lounge right downstairs on the first floor of the M & M Victorian. Terrible if you are trying to sleep! The very loud music carries loudly upstairs and as one would expect, patrons can also be loud. At 10pm I went downstairs to politely ask the bartender to turn down the music. Reluctantly they agreed to turn it down somewhat. Nonetheless, the patron noise still was heard upstairs. The website for M & M Victorian says you can "rest and rejuvenate." I don't think so with the lounge there. While we drove by but did not stay there (already full), the sister property, The Lauerman House, might be a better choice for some. The stately home was in a quiet, well-maintained, tree-lined neighborhood. (I did note that the railroad tracks are in close proximity to the home.)…
