This BnB is BEAUTIFUL! We stayed 4 nights in the balcony suite. The room was amazing and the balcony views were incredible and a great way to relax. The inn keeper Michael was more than accommodating during our stay providing us with history on the house and town as well as ideas of places to go and things to do. Breakfasts we very good and different everyday. We will absolutely be returning and highly recommend!
My mother and I started our ten-day journey through the Upper Peninsula with two nights at the Inn and one night to mark the end of our adventures - full circle - because we very much enjoyed visiting the Lauerman House. The House is a perfect representation of colonial revival architecture and offers elaborate wood trimming and a touch of the past mixed with tasteful modern decor. The entire House was extremely clean, every fixture meticulously placed, every room spacious and lavishly decorated, and the bed was SO COMFORTABLE. I did not want to emerge from the sheets in the AM. But the breakfast, coffee, and company were worth getting up for in the morning. Each morning, we received a full breakfast with fruit and a patisserie beautifully prepared and served. The proprietor Jean, the manager Michael, Stella, and every staff member we met were accommodating. They were not only friendly but genuinely interested in us, our visit, and freely offered advice about the area, which is beautifully located in a quaint area of Marinette across from Stephenson Park and the Menominee River. Just a drive over the bridge to Menominee, MI. Meeting Michael and Jean were like reconnecting with old friends, and Stella was a wealth of information. Jean has the best selection of wines to include champagne and Prosecco in the area, and we took advantage by starting and ending our trip with a bottle of Prosecco. There is a fully stocked bar for guests, and it is on an honor system. The Inn has a nice area inside and outside to sit and enjoy a glass of Prosecco, wine, beer, or any beverage of your choice. I cannot say enough great things about the Inn and how it is managed. I highly recommend staying here or the sister Inn - M&M Victorian Inn.…
We rented the Lauerman House guest rooms & restaurant for our daughters wedding reception on 10/10/20. Jean & her entire staff were AMAZING! Chef Christian created a fabulous, one of a kind menu specifically with the Bride & Groom in mind! The entire event could not have been "as special" (perfect) anywhere else. As a bonus the mansion, river and railroad tracks create one of a kind beautiful photo ops! This hidden gem is right in our community & we are so lucky! Jean & staff keep up the AMAZING JOB!
The Lauerman Guest House was a great place to stay. We were a family of four in the pink room, and we had plenty of space. The guest rooms are all decorated with a modern (and sometimes quite bright) flair. It’s not something I’d do in my own house, but the room had character. The common areas of the house were more subtly decorated, accenting the beautiful staircase and living room. Everything inside was well kept. There was a delicious breakfast served in the morning. The owner was there at check in and in the morning, and was friendly, offering us local tips. I would definitely stay here again.
We came to Marinette to visit a friend. The house is amazing and the staff is very accommodating. Heidi and Jean the extra mile to make sure you get what you need. Very pleasant and personable. He will definitely be back.
We took our parents on a fall color road trip in Marinette county and stayed at Lauerman House for two nights. What a beautiful surprise! This 100-year old Victorian was actually prettier than the online photos. The inside was elegantly decorated, each suite was very spacious and comfortable. Even more surprisingly, the house was originally built for one of the Lauerman Brothers who owned the grand Lauerman Department Store in Marinette, which was more like Marshall Field in Chicago. There was a book written about the Lauerman Brothers and their Department Store. We came to learn quite a bit history about the ups and downs of the area from the late 19th to the 20th century throughout our stay. The next morning, the breakfast was served by the current owner, Jeanne with nice china in one of the beautiful dinning rooms, the food was delicious and well prepared. The second morning, the breakfast was served by Heidi, the proprietor, again, the food was freshly made and wonderful. Both Jeanne and Heidi were very friendly, heart-warming and extremely helpful. Everything in the Inn was clean, well-maintained and kept in high standard. We had a great time!…
Our visit to the Lauerman House was great fun! We don’t usually stay in B&Bs, since we live in a 100-year-old Victorian, but we made an exception for this beautifully restored and uniquely furnished mansion, and were not disappointed. Heidi welcomed us warmly at the appointed time. The second floor balcony suite overlooking the river was delightful. We sat out there with our drinks for a long time, and then drove over to the River’s Edge supper club for dinner. In the morning breakfast was ready and Heidi took time to tell us about the interesting history of the house. She deserves a bonus for being extremely well organized and a very hard worker!
Room was a perfect size for us, owner was very friendly and met us on arrival time as arranged. Everything was clean and nice.Bathroom and shower are pretty small.. shower is very small, but there is a jacuzzi tub as well if you prefer. Breakfast was a lovely presentation, and was delicious, too. My only drawback to our stay- we were in a room facing the front yard and the spot light on lawn shown directly into our window. Nothing I tried would darken the room. There was a family w young children who were very loud and wild, which kind of put a damper on our quiet little getaway, but no fault of the owners.. Otherwise it was great, and I would return.
My wife and I recently stayed overnight at the Lauerman House. Heidi, the proprietor, met us at the agreed upon time. She explained procedures and showed us to our room. We had reserved the Balcony Suite, a large set of rooms decorated in a nostalgic French motif. There was a large bedroom with a wonderful bed, large bath with jacuzzi and shower. There was a huge sitting room with plushly upholstered furniture. Double doors opened onto a covered balcony with comfortable seating and beautiful flowering plants. We were alone in the house as we were the only guests and the proprietor does not live on site. The owner requests that guests refrain from bringing their own liquor as a fully stocked honor bar is available. This gorgeous pub like bar has both rail and top shelf Liquors available, one cooler holds a wide variety of beers, another bottles of white wine. Dozens of red wines occupy racks. We loved having full run of the house. We felt like barons from the 1920s in this gorgeous colonial revival mansion. In the morning Heidi reappeared with delicious fresh berry torte. Juice and coffee were poured and soon a full breakfast with egg casserole, breads, and bacon. Oh to start every day in such a manner. We loved our stay at the Lauerman House and hope to return soon. …
Took a chance and were pleasantly surprised. A very cool place overlooking river. Trail across street along railroad. Bike opportunities. I ain’t town. Lovely room. Spacious. Very cool bar- help yourself, pay later. Kind host. Recommend.
