Detailed Reviews
Hotel's Favorite
I presented at a conference that was held at the Radisson in La Crosse, in early May. My observation from the conference is that the Radisson staff are very hardworking and did a great job taking care of us conferees. Lunch was delicious - I had a pork loin chop, mashed potatoes, and veggie mix of cauliflower, zucchini, carrots, red onions and green peppers - the veggies tasted fresh and were cooked perfectly (not overcooked). Service was excellent for the lunch.
Refreshments during the conference were excellent - displayed attractively, tidied up in a timely fashion. The staff were inconspicuous and did a great job picking up after all of us conferees, clearing dishes, etc. Their excellent work was very noticeable and very much appreciated. AV-tech was attentive, friendly and very helpful.
Climate inside was well controlled - not too hot and not too cold; just right. Location of restrooms was excellent.
Location of this hotel is excellent, parking lot out back had plenty of parking spaces.

We had a nice stay, able to request an upper room at booking without extra fee, and this hotel is within walking distance of many options for food and drinks. Check in and check out (check out by text) was easy. There was breakfast at the hotel restaurant, but no continental and the pool room could have had better aesthetics (it felt a bit like my high school pool with viewing deck).

The staff was friendly and was able to check me in early which is nice. The food was good (I had breakfast). The meeting room was okay. It was a little small for our group., but I am sure there are various sizes available.
The people I was traveling with needed a little guidance with how to turn on/off the shower. It is a push/pull type knob.

Beware—my husband and I were in town to celebrate a special occasion with friends and I reserved a double room with a riverfront view ~1 month in advance. We ended up being placed in a King room overlooking the hotel pool with little to no natural light. On top of that, there was a loud whistling noise permeating through the central air system throughout the entire stay, and we could hardly sleep in with the sound of folks carrying on in the pool area all morning. ALL websites, including the UW system travel booking systems, should make it clear that some of the rooms in this hotel are connected to and/or overlooking the pool, and that you may or may not end up getting the room you thought you were getting at the time of booking. Staff were and continue to be totally unhelpful in resolving this.

We stayed here as part of a convention and it was just an okay stay. Radisson's have a reputation of being a higher end hotel and our stay was just okay. We had a room overlooking the parking lot and downtown Lacrosse. Being higher up than our last stay reduced the traffic noise a lot. The AC worked well on the hot days. Still no alarm clock or any clock in room. I was disappointed in housekeeping as our room was not cleaned 2 of the 5 days and things like coffee, soap, shampoos, etc. not replenished unless we asked. I get a convention was in town but this was not a surprise it was well known how many people would be there months in advance.
Room had a fridge but no microwave. Bathroom very tiny with no counter space. No make up mirror options without standing at sink or room door at full length mirror and no table for bags or to sit on etc. Shower was good in our room. Was disappointed that when I asked for coffee supplies I was told it was downstairs by the front desk. While that may work for some-I do not want to have to get dressed take an elevator to the lobby to get coffee and come back to my room. I had to argue with front desk clerk to get what I wanted. As a reminder Radisson staff-you are here for customer service not to direct your guests. The stay was average and the room was okay. I would look to other hotels unless you have a river view.

For over $350 a night this past weekend, for two queens in a standard room Room 519, I got beds which have been ridden on more than John Wayne's horse. See pic below. Still have not received a receipt for my stay. When checking out I asked to split the bill with a co convention attendee. I was told the bill would say $0 as it was a prepay rate through Choice. I just wanted a total of the hotel with taxes and fees and apparently they cannot produce it on site. Told me to go into my Choice account, however that link does not work or since I made the reservations in March... Lord knows. I had a nice view of the river though; when I could straighten up from sleeping in a hog trough all night.

I expect Radissons to be nice hotels. Not top shelf but nicer. This hotel was not that. The rooms are small. Its worn and that's okay. I don't have a problem with older properties but I do expect decent beds and pillows. The bed was so uncomfortable that I averaged about four hours a night. And I haven't seen hotel pillows this small since the 70's. Just an FYI the "city view" overlooks the parking lot. The front desk staff was indifferent bordering on rude. The room was clean but our towels were not replaced. Also, theres a nice little catch......when I called to reserve the room I asked if there was a refrigerator in the room and was told there was. We planned on bringing food back home from Hmongs Golden Egg Roll and would keep it in the room overnight as we were leaving early in the morning. When we go to the room the fridge had a sign that said "beverage only not safe for food items". Okay. Wasn't told that. When I opened the fridge later to put my tea in it turns out that the "fridge" was only slightly colder than the room. I inquired at the front desk and was given slight head nods and told it was for beverage only and that's it. NO explanation as to why it wasn't cold or helpful suggestions as to what could be done to help with my food dilemma. All in all the hotel is meh, the front desk is a little less than meh and for the prices they charge.........we'll just say that.next time I'll go to the Candlewood and look at their parking lot and have a LOT nicer stay.

Jen and her team provided exceptional service for our wedding weekend. Leading up to the weekend, Jen was responsive to changes, kind, and willing to help however she could. The bridal suite was spacious, had beautiful views of the river, and worked wonderfully for getting bridal hair and makeup done the day of the wedding. We hosted an outdoor bonfire gathering as guests came in the night before the wedding, and the team at the Radisson was friendly and attentive to our guests' needs. The morning after, it was a great location for guests to grab coffee and hang out before leaving for the weekend. I would HIGHLY recommend this hotel for wedding blocks, as it is in an ideal location with several gorgeous wedding venues nearby, has a phenomenal staff team, and is all-around a wonderful hotel environment. A huge thank you to Jen and the team at the Radisson!

We were coming for a funeral, we’re told it was pet friendly, booked the room for two nights, got a text this morning (4/20/23) and said we had to cancel our room because we have a cat . I guess a gist, cow or maybe even an elephant would have been acceptable. We have never been denied a room because of a cat . She’s pretty good, uses a litter box and doesn’t bark all night. Don’t advertise you are pet friendly when obliviously you are not

The hotel is conveniently located on the Mississippi River next to the beautiful Riverside Park. Take a stroll along the River is so fun and worthwhile. We were not sure what to expect in LaCrosse and we found that our hotel experience at the Radisson made for a pleasant stay and experience. We were able to take the Lacrosse Queen Authentic Paddlewheeler ride on the river. The boat/dock is walking distance from the Radisson.
The best part about our stay during COVID is that the Radisson has stringent cleaning protocols keeping everyone safe during their stay. We were pleasantly surprised the pool just opened up with appointments only. So we had the entire pool and hot tub for our family only. All you have to do is make a reservation after you check in. We loved it.
