We have been wanting to go to this cafe for some time and this time in Door County we did stop and so glad we did, what a great place and good staff. Next time we are in Door County we will definitely be going back and maybe even checking out the motel .
The problems that come with a pet friendly motel. When I was ready to retire for the night and turned down the covers the bedding was full of dog hair..Followed up with the manager when she got in and she basically said she was not going to do anything about it as I stayed the night. The arrogance of some people..Congratulations , rude and creepy at the same time.Plenty of places to stay in Door Co. if you don't have a furry friend with you I would skip this place.
We stayed in room 108 which is for a handicap person. I use a wheelchair to get around. Room 108 is tucked in a corner on the first floor. It's a long walk from the ramp all the way to. room 108. There should be a ramp at the other end of the building. There room had a lamp between the beds with a 40 watt light bulb. We requested room service everyday while there, only happened once. My wife had to walk down to the office to get some. The overall room was something likely parents might of gone to in the 50s or 60s. People were very nice, shower was good. Julie's Cafe is great, we ate there three times. Would we be back I dunno.
We stayed at Julie's Motel during our annual girl's trip. Four adult women in a double queen-bed room which also has a little pullout couch and a table with chairs in the room. Cute, comfy, and actually roomy! The room was very clean. We did not request them to come and clean the room every day (optional) but if we needed anything (more coffee pods/iron and ironing board) they were happy and quick to deliver. We would definitely stay at Julie's and enjoy the cafe every morning (a Must) again.
It is a simple, clean, no frills room. We only needed a place to sleep at night and spent 2 nights here. It was pretty much perfect for us. It is small, but clean. The shower is very small but we are not large people and made the best of it. Looks like it's been updated and painted recently. The staff were super friendly and helpful. We stayed in the cottages which are about 2 miles down the road from the cafe. There really is nothing within walking distance of the room we had, but we had a car and bikes with us to get around. The walls are thin, we could hear our neighbors when they were in their room.
Great place to stay. Nicely updated and very clean and comfortable. Little love seat and ottoman and nice size bathroom with good water pressure. Yard games in the yard was a nice touch. Breakfast at the diner was excellent as well.
I've stayed at Julie's many times over the years. The rooms were always squeaky clean. However, Julie's is not what it used to be: 1. Carpet was sticky. Gross. 2. Shower curtain was filthy. 3. Lightbulbs burned out in bathroom. 4. Found a sheet with yellow stains on it. 5. Sheets are threadbare. Time to replace them! 6. Room overall is just beat up and worn out. Front desk seems indifferent. Like you're bothering them when asking anything. It's a shame, but I'll be staying elsewhere from now on, and advise the same.
We had driven past this location many times, as we love the state park, so decided to stay. We had a king whirlpool room, which was located just above the main office. Loved everything about our stay. We prefer a firmer bed, but it was fine. There is a lot of traffic, but not so much during the night. The room was comfortable and roomy. The park is literally just outside the door, and the on-site restaurant is wonderful. Don't miss the Eagle tower at Peninsula, and Wild Tomato for pizza is just across the road. We will definitely be back.
We stayed in a one bedroom cottage. It was just enough room for my husband, 2 year old daughter and me. The location of the cottage was an easy driving distance to Fish Creek, Baileys Harbor and Sister Bay. The area rug in the living room was damp almost the entire stay, it must have just been cleaned? That is my only complaint. Everything else was great!
Julies Motel is a great place to stay. I judge a place on 3 things - the bed, pillows and the shower. All 3 here were excellent. The room was clean and spacious. The location is great. Definitely will stay again. The cafe was also great - good food and great service.
