We’ve stayed at Eagle Harbor Inn several times in the past and loved it. Especially the wonderful breakfast! We even brought friends with us from Oklahoma on one visit. Sadly, they have discontinued the breakfast. Since that was one of the most enjoyable parts of our stay, we’ve had to look elsewhere. :(
Eagle Harbor Inn was very good. My wife and I were in Ephraim for a wedding and stayed at the Inn. The room was very clean and tidy when we arrived. There is daily service for towels and trash, although the room is not cleaned unless you are there for a longer stay. Overall, we had a great experience and would stay again if we visit Door County.
This is an amazing Inn with a range of spaces. It is a beautiful location with lots of places to walk to and the harbor to enjoy. There are great grounds for kids to play. It is close to everything and there is a wonderful sunset view. Sister Bay and Fish Creek are very close. The people working at the Inn are wonderful.
Our room was Helga on the 2nd floor. Evidentally this is a "cheaper" room. When we entered we found it totally unacceptable but ouronly options for a two night stay is to move across the all for one night to a larger room and the 2nd night move again which is a great inconvenience because of the 2nd floor, steep stairs our our luggage, the 2nd night room was a suite at double the cost. No other options. No breakfast, broken light, squeeky door, luke warm tea, coffee. Not a good experience.
I brought a friend to Door County for her first stay. When we checked in, the young lady at the desk had a very difficult time splitting the bill. When we entered out suite in the Sumac House, Suite 2, there was a nasty, musty smell coming from a cracked, leaking refrigerator which they eventually replaced. On the third night of of our stay, we were awakened by the fire alarm and spent most of the next hour in the parking lot watching the fire department going in and out of our building. We were allowed back in with no explanation about what had happened. Very unsettling and made for a sleepless remainder of the night. When we inquirednwhat the Inn would do to compensate the guests, we were told we would receive a $50 credit. For a $300 per night room, it seemed like very little. I have stayed at Eagle Harbor Inn 6 or 7 times. They have to realize they are not the only game in town with hundreds of other housing options in Door County. I have many, many friends who come to Door County and I have shared this experience with them. Come on Eagle Harbor Inn, compensate your guests!!…
We stayed in the house where you check in. Our room was VERY floral and like a maze of mirrors. I can't remember how many mirrors I counted in our room. The bathroom was small, but not an issue. I really wish they still served breakfast. I saw some advertisements that still had free breakfast on them, and was hoping that to be the case. Either way, it is easy walking and driving distance to every single thing in Door County. We only stayed one night, which was perfect for us.
We stayed here for our anniversary! It was so quiet and peaceful. Our suite was perfect (Hawthorn Suite room #2). It had a very spacious living area with couch and chairs with a kitchen. The bedroom had a whirlpool tub with a patio off of it. It was within walking distance to the public beach and downtown area.
We have stayed here twice. The first time in Tamarack and this time in Cedar. Both visits were relaxing despite cold, snowy weather. Both units we stayed in had kitchenettes, which worked out well for us given I enjoy cooking. The staff were friendly and accommodating. My only complaints were that the 4-cup coffee maker is just wretched and I brought my own the 2nd time. The other issue is that I wish the kitchenette had a few more cooking utensils. We intend to make another visit in the fall. Thank you.
We just spent a long weekend in White Birch suite #5 and could not have been more pleased. Our unit was clean and comfortable. The small kitchenette was perfect for our short stay. We only had minor interaction with staff but each time they were very friendly. The location in Ephraim was perfect, a good midway point if you wanted to drive south to Egg Harbor and Fish Creek or drive north to Sister Bay or Gills Rock to catch the ferry to Washington Island. We would definitely stay here again.
The resort is quiet being off the main road leading through Ephraim. We stayed in the Serena room which was one of the bigger rooms with queen bed. It’s clearly a dated facility with creaking floors and dated furniture. The bathroom fixtures are also dated and seeking the right temp in your shower can be a challenge. With that said, the biggest disappointment is the breakfast as already noted by others. There is usually fruit available and a single bakery item which is hard to consider any sort of bed & “breakfast” as advertised. It’s clear their kitchen is capable of more but with COVID, they’ve scaled way back and haven’t begun to recover. The afternoon “snack” is similar in that they provide a small cookie or other similar bakery item and some flavored water. They really need to consider upping their game here. The pool is indoor and very very small. With the indoor temp and humidity in the pool room both high, the pool is not a refreshing break. Housekeeping is also scaled back and you must request via a bag left in your room to replenish towels or other items. Staff are polite but are not service oriented in that they seem more engaged with their tasks than making their guests feel welcome. Finally, their electric key program is faulty in that it does not appear to work with your cellphone while at the same time disabling the key card you receive at check in. So you can find yourself locked out of your room. Suggest dumping the “Open Key” App and sticking with the physical keycard until they work out the kinks.…
