This was one of the only resorts open in the Door County area the weekend we went. I want to say the staff and owner are very nice people. The resort is tucked away off the main Hwy 42. So no disruption with noise.

Also, I know the pandemic has decimated businesses and the economy. Having said that, there has to be some attention paid to the upkeep of the resort. The room we stayed in had an overwhelming musty smell like mold. That can’t be good. The room was relatively clean except the window sill and AC/heat unit. These seem like simple fixes to me to do a thorough cleaning and then maintain it.

If you like soft wash cloths and bath towels, I’d say take your own. The feel of the towels is rough. But, that could be personal preference or a hard water problem.

I really hope the owners will give the resort some TLC during the off-season.

This resort is tucked away at the end of a dead end road. So there is peace and tranquility, something not often found in Door County! The fish boils here are the best, as a story is told of the settling of the area, the old school bell is rung during boil over, and you have a buffet of choices besides fish to choose from. Jewel, the owner is amazing. She keeps the resort running smoothly. In fact, all of the employees are wonderful! There is an outfitter onsite where you can sign up to zip line, Segway or kayak for an additional fee. There is also a wonderful indoor pool. Grandma's Swedish Bakery is amazing. Best bakery on Door County. The lines down the hall are a testimony to the yumminess of the baked goods. The best rooms have a balcony overlooking the lake or have a whirlpool in the room. The resort is old fashioned and the décor reflects that. This is not a fancy resort, but a resort to rest and relax and enjoy the beauty of your surroundings. This is a fantastic place!

My family and I went to Door County for the weekend and I'm so glad I picked Rowleys Bay to stay at. The location is perfect close to surrounding towns, quiet, secluded and the hotel staff was very friendly. We will be definitely going back.

Just had our daughter's wedding here. Jewel, the manager, was a peach to work with. This is a great place for the diy bride; Jewel provided lots of help and was always available when needed. Made us able to relax and enjoy the day. Our rustic, vintage theme fit the decor beautifully and the pizza we had brought out as an evening snack is still being talked about and craved!!!!! Kudos to the entire staff who made this a wonderful memory for us.

Our family of 6 recently stayed at Rowley's Bay Resort in Door County over the 4th of July. This resort is a true gem. It is family owned and operated and walking into the front door is like taking a walk back in time. It is tucked away in a remote part of Door County, giving you plenty of peace and quite but still close enough to the hustle and bustle if you needed a change of pace. The lobby area has an "up north" charm to it and the staff was all very friendly and helpful. The owner of the resort was very visible during our entire stay and seemed to take a very vested interest in how her staff were doing, as well as her guests. Although the resort seems somewhat antiquated, the entire resort was very clean and inviting. We stayed in the 3 bedroom "Oh So Suite" which was beyond our expectations. It was like staying in an entire apartment and we had a beautiful view of the Bay from our room. The sunrises over the Bay were breath taking and the sitting areas out in front of the resort were very nice. Bring your outdoor games along if you can as there was lots of room out in front of the resort to play. The pool area was very clean and relaxing. The game room in the basement was huge and offered a nice variety of things to do for the kids and the adults. We will definitely be going back and feel like this may be our "go to" spot for all of our future trips to Door County.

This is a nice hotel with an excellent buffet breakfast and dinner. There is an in-house bakery; be sure to try some bakery items. The evening fish boil is hugely over rated in my opinion. You would save money and be better off with a hamburger. The soups and chili are very good. There is ample free parking and very large rooms which are well furnished. We stayed in the older part of the hotel. There was no room refrigerator and no room microwave, but unlimited free coffee for guests in the bakery. There is a large indoor swimming pool. Easy chairs are distributed throughout the hotel, and there are also good places to sit outside. The resort is on the water.

This facility is a little dated but very accommodating. We had breakfast buffet 3 mornings and dinner buffet 3 nights - one night included the fish boil. All food was delicious - especially the sweets from the onsite bakery. Everyone employed there went above and beyond expectations.

We really LOVED the location. It was so nice to get away from the busier areas of Door County. We LOVED the dark skies at night. So many stars. Watching the moon rise was amazing. Sunrises are also amazing here.

The third floor room had a great view of the bay. The room was pretty clean except the bathtub was dirty. The bathroom looked like it could use some maintenance. The toilet kind of shifted when you sat on it. The linoleum looked like there was previous water damage. While I can appreciate the vintage décor and the age of the resort, the musty/mildew smell was overpowering, kind of nauseating. We tried Febreeze, we tried opening the door to get fresh air. Nothing would take it away. My boyfriend couldn’t sleep due to it.

Everything we purchased from Grandma’s Bakery was really delicious.

There are hiking trails in the surrounding area. There are also kayak rentals and a zipline available for rental. Great options.

The staff were very friendly.

I would definitely come back if it wasn’t for the musty/mildew smell.

The hotel is in quiet part of Door County, at the end of a local road. It has plenty of common spaces - the bakery/coffee shop (free coffee) with sink and microwave if you choose to heat up food, lobby with fire place and couches, game room in the basement. You can launch your own or rent a kayak. People who visit are generally families or more mature so it's really peaceful there. There are trails to hike behind the hotel and Mink River Estuary to walk around and everything else in DC a short drive to. While it seems dated, its décor is timeless and cozy. Staff has always been friendly during my several stays there. Highly recommend this place as a haven of Door County.

Needs some updating. Room smelled of mildew. The tub did not drain during shower. Little pricey. Only encountered one staff member and she was nice. We were a little disappointed that they advertised kayak and Segway rental as well as zip line however when we arrived at 6pm all rentals were closed and opened later in am. We had already made reservations in nearby town for boat tour so couldn’t hang around for them to open.
