Stayed at Harbor Light Inn in the Moonraker suite, the second floor of the lighthouse. Great stay. The location is quiet, away from the dense activity just a mile or so south, but close enough to get to restaurants and shopping easily. Room was clean and charming, very well maintained. Refik the manager is terrific. There was an issue with the gas fireplace and he took some off the bill without my asking, and also switched out the DVD player when the one in my room was not working, and did so in about ten minutes. The rooms have microwaves and refrigerators, so you can bring food for sandwiches and so on - some of the rooms have full kitchens. I hated to leave and I am definitely planning to stay here again the next time I am in the area. Highly recommended.
We decided to take a last minute two-day trip to Door County, and found a couple of vacancies at The Harbor Light Inn. We chose to stay in the Nautical suite on the first floor of the Light House, which was the prefect size for my family of 3. We were excited to eat dinner at The Shoreline Restaurant (a five minute walk from the inn) on Thursday night but they were closed for health reasons. The silver lining was that there was a small, cash or PayPal and carry, art cart on the way to the restaurant and my daughter bought a Door County sticker. We enjoyed the Sunset from the park across the street, and came back to our suite to play card games at the table while enjoying the glow of a bonfire in the main fire pit outside. The owner noticed the blue light emanating from our tv and came to help reset the dish — we enjoyed some tv too! We got a good nights sleep and made the 9am ferry to Washington Island the next morning. Check out was super easy! …
Love this place. Very clean, nice community kitchen to use as well as microwave and fridge in the room with a great walk in tile shower. Very quiet. Very comfortable bed and pillows. Nicely convenient to go to Washington Island.
This was our 2nd vacation in Door County. The 1st visit was in 2017 in our camping trailer at an RV park a few miles south of The Harbor Light Inn. Since we no longer have a camper, we looked for a quiet, clean place to stay, away from the crowds of tourists in towns. The Harbor Light Inn fit the bill to a tee. Very friendly staff and a nice, comfy room (The Spinnaker Suite). Our stay was delightful and we would stay there again. The only hitch was a personal preference for a very firm mattress, which the Spinnaker Suite mattresses were not. But our stay was so enjoyable that a soft mattress did not detract from a 5 stars review. PS. Fantastic sunset views right across the road on the beach!
Gift, back when there's off seasons, staying again during our anniversary, mid March. To their credit, accommodating our vehicle's charge, then, ONLY other guest took our spot? Treated rudely fore 9pm politely had guest move...emailed wife accusing myself of bullying?
Such a cute place! Our shower was so huge and the bed was extremely comfortable. The employee who helped us was so nice. I loved everything about this place. Loved how there was a common area for people staying in the rooms and there was also separate house. Would definitely recommend staying here
We had a great experience at the Harborlight. We stayed in the Galleon room. It was very clean and comfortable. Beautiful view of the water and lots of windows. Nice patio to sit on and look at the water. The owners are very nice and helpful. There is a sauna that we did not use, but nice that it’s available. Microwave and fridge in room. There is a large common room with kitchen that seemed to have anything you would need in it. I even saw fixings in there for s’mores. There is a nice fire pit area. It is close to the Washington Island ferry. It was nice to be in a quiet area away from the super busy spots in Door County, but a close enough drive to get to Sister Bay, etc.
Wonderful experience! Absolutely great accommodations for my large family of 19. We had 7 units, two with full kitchens. The common room enabled us to get together for games and a final meal with all. I especially enjoyed the gazebo which quickly became our outdoor social meeting spot. The manager and his wife kept the accommodations very clean and very helpful when we asked for advice.
We stayed here for Memorial Day and loved it so much. The room was impeccably clean and comfortable. We were met with such kindness from Refik, who offered recommendations in the area and was available if we needed him for anything. The flowerpots around the property were beautiful and we even saw a little vegetable garden in the back. There was a microwave and fridge in the room, which was nice to put a few snacks, since there are few restaurants within walking distance. It was a quiet escape, and we can't wait to go back.
The hotel is across the street of the water! The room was spotlessly clean. The front desk attendent was fast and recommended a great breakfast place. The beds were great, high thread count, and comfortable. The towels were really thick. Spacious room and a great value!
