If you like Hiking, wining, exploring, shopping, and dining….This is the place to stay right on the lake. Lots of places to go in Door County, The owners Pat and Arps of this resort on Kangaroo lake are amazing people. Their sweet dog will greet you every day. Accommodations are simple with a country charm. Love it there. My second year, next year I plan on returning
Thank you Pat and Arps

This was one of the more reasonably priced water front properties to stay at in door county. They are small cabins - we stayed in the maples. This was adequate size for two of us. It's in a secluded location but convenient to everything. The property is beautifully landscaped and everything is really clean. We were too busy sight seeing to truly enjoy the lake we were on. Pat was amazing to deal with. I would highly recommend this place to anyone who can enjoy the simpler things it has to offer. Oh, and Toby offers an amazing welcome!

Nothing compares to a trip back to the 50's when family and friends and good times meant everything. My husband and I have been going to KLR for the last 10 years and will continue.
7 cabins, close to the lake, yard games, canoes and kayaks, fishing and swimming and the three best hosts ever, Pat, Arps and Toby the 4 legged host with the most. Ask Toby to "do the Rhumba" which he'll gladly do for a doggie treat.
Quiet, relaxing, charming, and basic...not for you if you need fancy stuff.

Hosts are very friendly but maybe a little too nitpicky about how they would like thier rooms and policies treated but Arp and his wife are salt of the earth. Grouds are lovely with meticulously maintained gardens docks etc. Cabins are a bit too basic We live rustic but this was without the charm. Very plain vynyl floors and paneling. Be prepared to bring your own sheets and pillows - it's a cabin. However we were nit prepared to bring our own toilet paper and towels. A little too rough for the 165 rate we paid. It was about 100$ overpriced for our measure and we travel a lot. You'd think a few things would be thrown in. There were no discounts or lower rates for the weeknights either. All in all a great place tovisit if you've got friends there but not to stay overnight. O and no dogs but they do have one.

I was expecting a cabin with a loft and ended up with a apartment over the top of a garage and another cabin. Had it not been so late we would have gone elsewhere.
For the price we paid we could have stayed in some high quality resorts and had all the amenities. No sheets or towels furnished, bring your own or rent them from the owners. Very nice owner's, minimal amenities. Like staying in a rundown hotel.

We stayed on a weekend that was very busy for the area and this was about the only place that had a room left. And after staying I know why... As mentioned in another review, the owners are lovely people and the grounds are beautiful, but the cabin was beyond basic and the bed, which was supposed to be for a couple, could only fit 1 of us at a time. The couch in the living room, was very uncomfortable. The shower head was so low that my 6'3" husband had to kneel to be able to take a shower.

I have been staying at Kangaroo Lake Resort almost every summer since I was nine months old and now as a twenty six year old young professional I can honestly say that I have an appreciation for this amazing place more now than I ever have before. My life is filled with nothing but the most positive and happy memories of Kangaroo Lake Resort. The owners Pat and Arps are the most lovely, hardworking people that you could ever hope to meet. The grounds of the resort are immaculate and the lake views and sunsets are unparalleled. The cottages are quaint and so special, my family's personal favorite is the Hemlock. If you are looking for a truly memorable, quiet and relaxing getaway from the world look no further than Kangaroo Lake Resort, I promise it will not disappoint.

Have you ever had a wonderful vacation and then been afraid to return for fear that it wouldn't measure up to your memories? Not the case at Kangaroo Lake Resort. We started going there some thirty years ago and it is exactly as we left it every time we return now. Pat and Arps are the best hosts ever and the cottages and grounds are perfect for us. One reviewer commented that you could literally eat off the floor and that is no exaggeration! As time goes by, some things change and some things remain the same. We are ever grateful that Kangaroo Lake Resort is today as wonderful as it was thirty years ago.

We had a fabulous stay on beautiful Kangaroo Lake at a beautiful, family friendly resort! We were greeted with flowers on the table and a warm welcome! The beach is small but perfect for the area! They have plenty of chairs to relax and enjoy a beautiful sunrise or sunset! It is a great location that makes it within an easy drive to so many destinations. Study the maps as there are lots of backroads that make traveling way faster!! Cabin was well stocked with regular amenities for dishes and cooking utensils.

My husband and I just returned from another wonderful weekend getaway at Kangaroo Lake Resort. If you enjoy a cozy cabin on a lake instead of the confines of a hotel room, this is the place for you! The cabins are spotless! Pat and Aarps are so friendly and kind. They go out of there way to make sure your stay is the best. They are not intrusive and make sure you have plenty of wood for the fireplace on those cool Wisconsin evenings. If you are looking for beauty, privacy, and old Wisconsin cabin charm, this place is for you. No King size beds and large hot tubs, but tranquil, cozy getaway. We will return, hopefully AGAIN and AGAIN!!!!
