We stayed in Rm 14, a suite that was definitely not sweet. We are not complainers, but this stay definitely deserved a no star rating and we felt we needed to share our disappointment with you and anyone else considering staying here. We hadn’t been up to Door County in over a year because of several issues we were going through. We were so looking forward to this trip. What a letdown when we walked in the room. Can’t believe the price we paid for this type of lodging. We’ve been coming up for 40 + years and have never been so disappointed. Don’t even know where to begin… 1) from the photos it looked like there was a stand up shower in addition to the awful whirlpool tub. What a shock, after just recovering from hip replacement having to climb into that oversized dilapidated whirlpool tub to take a shower with a makeshift shower curtain, so ridiculous! Can’t believe anyone would sit in that tub with the filthy jets. Couldn’t adjust shower head so got pelted with water. Towels were full of stains & dirty. No bath mat or rug in the bathroom. 2) No deadbolt on the door & a hole in the wall obviously from door handle. The fan in the living room is caked with dirt. Would be a afraid to turn it on. 3) Heard scratching in the walls the whole first night, possibly bats? Ughh so creepy. 4). The screen on the patio door was ripped away and taped with masking tape which was falling off. Patio furniture was filthy. Deck need’s painting badly. 5) couldn’t adjust refrigerator settings. Thought it had glassware and silverware. Nope! We did ask about changing rooms due to the shower situation & were told nothing available. Also told them about the scratching in the walls & were told they would have someone come the next day. Never happened. I can’t believe you feel good about or are allowed to rent a room in this condition but maybe it’s just about the money. We will never be coming back to your place or recommend it to anyone else. You had asked for ways you can better someone’s stay so we thought we would let you know.

This is not a luxury motel, nor does it pretend to be. But, we had luxury amenities that we would have had to pay far more for in most other places in Door County. It was very quiet and we could walk to Bailey's Harbor. Our suite had a gas fireplace, jacuzzi, small kitchen table, larger than most fridge, microwave, sofa and two chairs sitting area with coffee table. Had a comfortable king sized bed and vaulted ceiling. Small balcony. Very clean. Highly recommend if you don't mind an ugly carpet or things that don't exactly match. It's very relaxing and spacious.

Bathroom smelled like urine. Room was dark, dingy, not really clean. Big waste of money. I felt uncomfortable sleeping there. Best thing about it was they take dogs, but I didn't want my dog lying on the floor as I was afraid he'd catch something. Big disappointment for the usual standards in Door County. My friend had another room where the flooring was pulled up and a number of other things were disgusting.

My sister, our mom and myself stayed here in Sept on Saturday night until Monday morning. The room we stayed in (room 8) workered great for us. The room had a queen bed, twin bed and a pull out sleeper sofa. The room had a TV with a DVD player, fireplace, balcony and a tiny counter that had a sink, microwave, mini fridge and a small coffee pot. Bathroom was small but had a sink, ample counter space and a small shower (shower head was kind of low). The ceiling was vaulting making the space feel larger. It was very clean and comfortable. The area it's located was very central to many of the small towns. It was quiet and backed up to a preserve. Parking was not the best but they were very helpful letting us know where alternate parking was available. All of the staff seemed very kind, helpful and cheerful. *they really were great! When I come back to the area all of us agreed we would stay here. Felt very safe and so comfortable!

Reserved a suite room. Surprised to find an extra large jacuzzi tub in the main room taking up a huge amount of space. Really out of place. Was not advised at time of reservation some cooking facilities were available. Dish soap provided for cleaning but nothing to clean or dry the dishes. Internet terrible in the room. Had to sit outside to get internet. No do not disturb sign so someone came into our suite anyway. Room gloomy with dark red curtains. Bathtub at one time had shower doors but were removed but they left the metal frame attached to the tub and walls. Had a gas fireplace so just wanting to check it out. It did notlight properly so after we shut it off and started it up again, there was built up gas that ignited explosively. Bed sheets and bathroom towels were clean. Vending machine outside in uncovered area so when we tried to put cash in during rain, the cash got wet and machine rejected the cash. Had to get our umbrella to shield the cash receiver. Then our product was out.

My friend and I had a getaway in Door County and our accommodations were the least favorite part of the trip. Neither of us slept well on either night. Actually, we slept very poorly. My skin itched from the sheets and I could not get replacements as I was told all their sheets were the same. They didn't have cotton ones for those with sensitive skin. Some tree branches are way too close to the balcony and there were other things in the room which were not user friendly. For what we paid, we had hoped for better.

As my wife and I are regular visitors to Door County, we wanted to try a stay in Bailey's Harbor this trip - on the quiet side of the peninsula. While reasonably priced, and they advertised a very clean and sanitized stay during COVID-19 concerns, the Ridges Inn & Suites left us disappointed. Thankfully, the weather this visit was terrific and we didn't need to use any of the limited amenities here. Unfortunately, the ability to enjoy any television during the evening hours was not possible - unless a handful of food channels and HGTV type programs are considered "satellite TV" entertainment. Only 6-8 channels, with a lousy picture, was all we had during our 3 night stay. And the "free WiFi" was not available in our room. The manager/owner only complained that there was nothing he could do to get it serviced. So, no real TV and no internet service - UNACCEPTABLE! Frankly, false advertising of their amenities. Couldn't even check daily work or personal emails during our 4 days. COVID-19 gave them the excuse, and we understood that there would be no daily room cleaning/service, but the initial room cleanliness was poor. Even our small balcony was filthy. (We ended up sweeping it ourselves.) We got our own daily trowels, etc. from the office every morning. The furniture was old, worn and was it clean? Hard to tell. Other than its location within walking distance of town, this inn had nothing going for it. Owners must be struggling financially to have it in this condition. We wouldn't stay here again.

Hello Tim, I am very sorry you did not enjoy your stay. Regarding your two main issues...the HSIA and the Satelite Tv, I am happy to report the following. The HSIA was down for a short while as we waited for the service tech to correct the issue with the wireless repeaters. Our mgr was correct in that there was nothing he could do as we were awaiting the service tech to repair the issue. And the Satellite tv is being completely updated by Directv to over 15 HD channels on July 3rd. We again are at Directvs time table and all are behind due to the pandemic. While I realize these two improvements do not improve your stay, I want to let you know we are very focused on improving everyone's stay and will continue to be. Also, the furniture was and carpets were all just professionally cleaned as we schedule on a regular basis. Regarding your “using the pandemic as an excuse” comment, I think I’ll just leave that one alone. Again, we are sorry you were not satisfied and we will do our best to focus on continuous improvement. Peace, Richard and the entire Ridges Team!

We needed a place to stay for one night near some friends who were camping nearby, and this place fit the bill perfectly. We had a spacious first floor room with a fireplace and patio doos to a small patio near the woods. Very cute, clean and affordable. Would definitely stay there again.

We left 1 day early.. The whites of my eyes were pink, I think from mold in the very old room. Mildew odor hit us the second we opened the door of Birchwood cottage. The dehumidifier was running. I've never seen such an old bathroom. The linoleum is ancient. The porcelain in the toilet is gray in color. The shower is teensy with rust stained walls and flooring. The beds were clean and seemed to have decent mattresses, but there is no bedside table in the tiny room, so cell phone had to be on the floor. Forget reading in bed--the only lamp is at the foot of the bed. No clock. A portable heater is used to warm the room, so you listen to that going on and off all night. The young man behind the desk asked why we were leaving 1 day early. I told him that the mildew was causing us to have allergic symptoms. His only comment was " We wont give you a refund." The pictures on line do not look anything like our cottage.

Response from DCInnManager1, Manager at Baileys Harbor Ridges Inn & Suites
Responded 12 Dec 2019
Dear Guest, We are very sorry you did not enjoy your stay. We use the word "rustic" in our cottage descriptions throughout our website with the hopes of informing guests that our cottages are older and to help persuade guests to stay in our lodge or other suites if they prefer newer and more up to date accommodations. While we do our best to minimize humidity by providing dehumidifiers in our first floor cottages, I understand some guests are more sensitive and I apologize for this. As for the pictures, we will be posting new updated pictures very soon. They will show the newly painted Birchwood Cottage, the new carpet, new furniture, new beds, and new stove all of which had been completed prior to your stay. Again, we apologize and please contact as we'd like you to try one of our Lodge or Guest House rooms which are much less "rustic". Peace...

We stopped here on a motorcycle ride through the area. It’s a wonderful little find! Nice room with a fireplace and a kitchen. It was wonderful after riding all day in the rain! The fireplace was a definite hot! Quiet room, nice and relaxing! The only downfall is that the internet was super slow. They do have boosters in the rooms but really didn’t help much. If that’s the only problem I have at a hotel I’m pretty happy. Really enjoyed the stay!
