I was ambushed by 2 homeless people inside their front door when I came back to the hotel after finishing night shift at the hospital. The front desk staff on duty Phoenix did not answer the phone call for help for over one hour, I had to call police because the intruders were roaming around inside the hotel without being stopped, he never inquired about my safety and proceeded to complain about being bothered, when I reported his behavior to management, I was told that he is an experienced staffer, no one else to replace him, so I have to tolerate his mistreatment!

Thank you for your response in regards to your stay at the Fairfield Inn & Suites. I do understand your frustration with the questionable guest that were inside our vestibule trying to enter the locked hotel front door. Phoenix was on the phone with the police about the two people that weren’t leaving the vicinity as well. When I spoke to you never mentioned you were robbed? I was very shocked to hear that in your Trip Advisor review. I have spoken to all my staff about the situation. Project Scope has also came and spoke to the staff about techniques we can do if we have this issue arise again. We try our best to keep our property monitored for our guests’ safety as much as we can. It is an unfortunate comment on the increasing presents in the homeless population in Spokane and is an ongoing problem for not only us but all of the Downtown hotel properties.

I arrived mistakenly thinking I booked something actually downtown like in a hip area but was like - this is a normal roadside kinda Fairfield, and the hotel outside and in the halls looks dated as are the bathrooms (and one elevator?!) but it was clean, and the breakfast surprisingly had a lot of options.

This is a difficult one to rate because, in a nutshell, the hotel is fine but the neighbourhood isn’t. We stayed for one night in a suite while visiting Spokane on vacation in the area. Starting off with the positives, parking is plentiful (avoid the bays for Perkins next door, which seemed to be clearly marked), and the hotel is a short walk from downtown and Riverfront Park which is what appealed to us. Our suite was a good size and clean, although a bit dark and I’m not a fan of the rough cast ceilings. Bed and sitting area were comfortable and had everything we needed. Unfortunately this hotel is in a terrible neighbourhood. Felt safe enough by day but after dark absolute carnage unfolds making any prospect of sleep near impossible. Very loud street racing all night on Division Street that the local police don’t seem to have gotten a grip on, and unsavoury groups gathering in the car park late at night that were clearly not hotel guests. There were signs of broken car windows in adjacent streets suggesting a crime problem, although we had no issues. I had to use my noise cancelling ear buds to sleep above the racket from outside, which was less than comfortable. However, it’s more a policing issue than the fault of the hotel. Breakfast was included and was quite adequate, although we were late after a poor night and almost felt we were in the way of staff who were congregating in the breakfast area. I’m a Marriott man but might try the Hilton DoubleTree next time.

Thank you for your comments and concerns. I appreciate you trying to rate he hotel separately from the location score. With our convenient downtown location, the unfortunate side effect is you are going to, at times experience the noise of downtown traffic. Most times it is hardly a factor, but sometimes with events and concerts, the traffic volume increases. As for your safety, this is a very high priority issue with our hotel. Spokane as well as the rest of the state has seen a definite upturn in its homeless population. It has affected not only us but a lot of the other Downtown hotel proprieties. Our front desk staff tries to walk the parking lot at night, we have installed larger, high volume light fixtures in our parking lot and the entrance doors are locked at 11:00 PM and only guests with keycard may enter. We value you as a customer and guest at our hotel and do hope you will return and remain a loyal Marriott customer.

Nice hotel on the edge of downtown - steps from the walking trail by the river and close to Riverfront Park. Nice rooms. Free parking. Good fitness center. Good breakfast. Staff was friendly and welcoming.

We were happy with our stay at the Fairfield. Free downtown parking and a great location for walking along the river, to the beautiful WSU campus, the carousel and Spokane Falls. Our room was recently remodeled with new, modern Fairfield typical furniture and shiny walk-in shower. The breakfast had an unexpected wide variety of grab and go foods- wrapped baked goods, (GF options), V-8, pineapple cups, hard boiled eggs. Hot dishes available as well. The windows open also-- a plus. The lighting was dim and the outlets were not convenient which was a drawback.

I stayed at this hotel for 2 nights with my boyfriend and had a great time! The pool and hot tub was open super late and thankfully had no restrictions. The breakfast was delicious in the morning and was complimentary! We will definitely be back soon!

The hotel was clean with friendly staff. Breakfast was typical continental fare. My room on the third floor was quiet. Cookies in the evening were a nice touch. One major drawback was the hotel staff who took smoke breaks outside the front entrance.

This location is downtown Spokane, right off of Division Street with many businesses around the area. Adjacent to Courtyard. Lots of free parking spaces. Very friendly staff; observing COVID-19 rules. We stayed over the Labor Day weekend. Hotel was not full, thus we got our complimentary upgrade to a King Suite room. Very spacious. a small sitting area separate from the king bed area. 2 large flat screen TVs. Small refrigerator, microwave. Modern shower (no tub which we never use a tub at hotels anyway). Clean bathroom and overall space. Our room was at the end of the hallway, away from the main road. Very good sleep quality. Morning breakfast was pretty much the standard affair. No fruits but plenty of choices.

One night stay. Friendly check in. King Suite. Awesome room: Very spacious with bedroom separate from sitting area. Large bathroom, 2 TV's, couch, everything very comfortable. Good wifi. A very nice touch was the guest reception Mon-Wed 5-7pm in the lobby, which included food and drink (alcohol also). Hot breakfast which included sausage & eggs among other items. We were in need of a good night's sleep and settled in for a comfortable night of restful slumber. This was not in the cards due to the people above us. I'm not going to ding the hotel for this, but the noise was awful. 1am they were walking (stomping?) around. So loudly that the items on our nightstand actually rattled. From 3am-5am they did the same. Took my wife's crutches and banged on the ceiling....to no avail. They finally left the hotel as they clomped down the stairway which was right next us. Didn't get much sleep after that either as anyone who came down the stairs would wake us. Would've been the perfect stay if not for this obnoxiousness. My suggestion: Do not get a room by the stairs. Otherwise, believe it or not, we would definitely stay here again.
