Stayed here just for the one night when visiting York. The hosts Hilary and Paul were so friendly and accommodating. We were able to get into our room earlier than expected which enabled us to put our things in the room and head to the bus stop which was a 2 minute walk from the house. The property is really beautiful and although Hilary is working her way through it to re decorate, it is still so homely. And so warm ! What a welcome on a February evening. The breakfast was everything you could want. Fruit, yogurt, cereal and then the full English! Sets you up for the day ( oh by the way I didn't eat all of that ) ! The presentation and attention to detail was second to none. There is a pub 5 minutes walk away and for the shopper I noticed a designer outlet . Not that I had time…
I was in York for a quick visit to the Railway Museum and chose to stay at a B&B rather then a faceless chain hotel, the place was characterful, clean and warm, the hosts friendly and welcoming. Highly recommended.
Hosts were incredibly helpful. Rooms were clean, spacious and comfortable. Food was lovely. Grounds are great. Location was excellent for local shopping or access to York. Plenty of space to park and the B&B was easy to find.
Stayed at Grimston house, Paul is an amazing host and couldn't do enough for us. I was very under the weather full of cold and suffering with a fever, he made us feel at home. This is the second time we have stayed here and will definitely be returning. Breakfast was amazing. Room, beds, towels and bathroom were all in a very clean Condition.

However, there was a very convenient bus route with a bus stop almost outside the premises which ran every 15 mins through out the day with the last one back at midnight. We were greeted by the lady of the house (Hilary) who made us tea or coffee and homemade cakes! Lovely touch. Our room was clean and beautifully furnished with period furniture and had everything you could need. We changed and went out to meet friends and returned on the last bus and we found some homemade cookies waiting for us. So sweet!! We slept very well and breakfast was very tasty and made with locally sourced products. Everything was spot on and it was great value for your money. We will…
