The couple running the B&B is very accommodating. Their dogs are very friendly and my daughter enjoyed playing with them. The bed is very comfortable, however their is no tv in the room, which is unfortunate. Their wifi was also down that evening, so we couldn't watch anything on our devices either. I asked for eggs in the morning and while last time the breakfast was more than we could eat, I was very disappointed to find that what she made was frittatas and I didn't like them (my daughter did however). She did pack up all of the fruit for us, which was nice.

My wife and I stayed at Chris and Larry’s River House B&B in in April ‘22 and had a great experience. They were so kind and accommodating, the bungalow that we stayed in was very clean, warm and well decorated. The refrigerator was well stocked and there was no lack of attention to detail. The breakfast each morning was incredible—we would definitely go back again!! Matt & Hil, California

We ended our honeymoon at this amazing bed and breakfast. When we booked our room we shared with Chris and Larry that it was the last night of our honeymoon and they went above and beyond to spoil us and make it something we will remember forever! They made us feel like family and were truly wonderful hosts. Their house was perfect, our room was perfect and the food was AMAZING!!!! You definitely will not leave hungry. It is located right on the river and we are so excited to come back when it is warmer and nicer weather so we can enjoy even more of what their place has to offer. Everyone needs to stay here!!!!

The house is immaculate with all the amenities that you need. The hosts, Larry and Chris, give you as much attention or as little attention as you desire. The breakfast is catered to what you want. The property is beautiful, right on the Spokane River on one side and forest territory on the other. Tell Chris you like chocolate chip cookies and she will bake those and they will be ready when you arrive.

We decided to stay here for the weekend while searching for a hotel or B&B and I am so glad we did! The decor is beautiful but the view of the river and the sound of the river steal the show. We also found that the property is on the bicentennial trail! We love hiking and biking! Chris and Larry are the most friendly and generous hosts. You can not beat their home cooking, healthy and delicious meals! Chris even packed us cookies, pies, fruits, towels and etc. for our long driving trip home! I am so glad we find this jewel in Spokane!

Chris and Larry Carlson make sure that you have a wonderful stay. Not only did they provide breakfast for us and comfy accommodations, but for an additional fee they provided lunch and dinner, too, all with lots of in season fruit! We didn't have to provide any meals for ourselves. Chris (and Larry) very willingly worked around our need to stay away from gluten. We were in the suite which is very private being situated over the garage and separated from the rest of the house by a screened in second story breezeway. That breezeway, populated with lounge chairs, lamps and table, made for an awesome place to relax and read as well. In the suite, the bed was very comfortable and we slept very well--it was neither too firm nor too soft. For someone with back trouble such as myself, it was nice to find a bed that I could really sleep in and not wake up with a backache in the morning. The house and guest quarters are nicely decorated and tend towards a Victorian theme; we had the run of the place, being made to feel like family. The property borders Riverside State Park--a wooded portion that is rarely occupied. Another edge of the property borders the Spokane River just below Nine Mile Falls dam. We were able to kayak (having rented kayaks from just up the road at the Nine Mile Falls Recreation Area), launching from and/or returning to the beach that fronts the property several times. River House is nicely situated as far as access to the Nine Mile Falls Reservoir, Spokane House historical site, Little Spokane River, and Lake Spokane--an easy paddle downriver from their property. One sees plenty of wildlife...deer, river otters, ducks, herons, various song birds, humming birds, etc, especially when sitting on the little patio down by the river (another great place to read) or on the main patio. A spur of the Centennial Trail leads directly from their property back towards Nine Mile Falls dam and continues upriver, into Spokane and all the way into Idaho. We took advantage of our end of the trail several times. If you want to get away from it all without getting too far away from it all, this is the perfect place.

River House Bed and Breakfast run by Chris and Larry Carlson is a way to relax and enjoy life. Tax season had just ended and we had a getaway to the Spokane, WA area. We were looking for a place to relax and unwind. River House completely fills the bill. Chris loves to cook and it certainly shows. She had even made gluten-free chocolate chip cookies for me. My husband loved his chocolate chip cookies along with the homemade shortbread. I liked to sit and read, alternated with watching the river flow past. The outdoor fireplace was fantastic on the cool evenings. I was allowed to be the resident "pyro". Jesse's room was delightfully charming. Chris is a jewel of an Innkeeper and we look forward to returning to River House soon.

We stayed at this lovely B&B just recently. The home is lovely. Decorated with beautiful decor by these multi-talented B&B owners who are personable and inviting. What a beautiful setting right on the 9 Mile river. Our room on the main floor was charming and comfortable. Everything was clean with attention given to detail. The home is heated with radiant heat which adds to the comfort. We own a B&B ourselves and we know a good one when we see it. We would have no problem giving this one top marks. About 25 minutes from Spokane, this makes for a quick retreat to the country. We highly recommend this B&B
