We celebrated our 25th wedding anniversary at the White House and stayed in the John Adams room. What a fun and special property this is. From well appointed rooms, fantastic hospitality from the owners, delicious breakfast each morning and an amazing library…this is a special gem of a property located within walking distance of Market Square. We can’t wait to come back for another visit.!

My wife and I spent a romantic Labor Day Weekend 2023 at A Williamsburg White House Inn. Upon our arrival, we were warmly greeted by Innkeeper John who showed us around and shared the Inn’s history. We walked to our room - the Thomas Jefferson. It was immaculate, nicely decorated, with a lovely canopy bed and the most comfortable mattress and pillows. There’s a delicious, complimentary hot breakfast deftly served at 8:30 am daily. We met the nicest guests at breakfast who had traveled to the Inn from as far away as Ireland and Canada. I could see why. This Inn has so much charm. Attractive landscaping, dazzling flowers, a cozy gazebo, interesting artwork, and Presidential memorabilia catch your eye. But the best part of A Williamsburg White House Inn is the genuine hospitality of its wonderful hosts, Debbie and John. We’ll be back.

Nice B&B about a mile outside Williamsburg, some rooms were themed around 2nd world war figures (Churchill, Roosevelt, etc). Rooms very well maintained and daily housekeeping. Breakfast was very filling, have to sign up for a slot the previous evening. Met both the owner and his wife, Debbie and John Keane, very friendly. John is ex-Marine Corp and runs his inn like a military operation (in a good way). Debbie was very friendly indeed. Loved the breakfast. Would stay here again.

Thanks so much for the review of your stay! We are so glad you enjoyed your time with us. We love meeting new people and truly love that we are seeing our Canadian and European visitors again after Covid. We are glad you found the Inn clean and well maintained, we have a wonderful cleaning staff that helps us. My ex Marine husband loves organization as I do, so we are glad you appreciated it. Organization in this business is key to making everyone's experience memorable. Please come back and see us again, Debbie

This is not what you are looking for in a Virginia B&B. The owner is a rude New Yorker who could care less about his guests. He will not greet you in a southern friendly manner; it will be a bold New Yorker greeting. If you call for assistance after hours, you will not get a response or answer from either owner's phone. Guests cannot adjust the thermostat. We were site seeing in ninety-degree weather to return to a room in the upper eighties with the air conditioning not running and a fan set up to circulate the hot air. To say the very least, the room was stifling. The rooms do not have small mini fridges to keep cool beverages. Closely notice the room descriptions do not include mini fridge or keurig. It does not have them, so don't expect them as an industrial norm like you've had at other B&Bs. The bed is firm, which I like, and the pillows are firmer, which I did not like. The bathroom door is made of slats, so don't expect sound proofing when doing your business. One-ply toilet paper is better for a septic system; however, it is not what I expect from a highly rated B&B. I've personally never had this experience at any other B&B. The breakfast was good, but the options are limited to one dish of their choosing or cereal. If you are looking for a room to relax and recoup your energy before heading back out for colonial adventures, this is not the inn for you.

Tonya and Jason. First I have to say I am extremely upset over your review and feel I have to respond to your accusations. Let me start by saying we have operated our Inn 24/7 for the past 23 years. Our goal is to make everyone's stay exceptional but sometimes we fall short. There was an issue with the A/C on the third floor which obviously started on Wednesday evening and culminated on Friday with a fix by our AC technician. Unfortunately you didn't make it clear how warm your room was as you attempted to call John and myself once each on Wednesday afternoon at 5:30pm, with no other attempts to reach us or the Innkeeper on the property. We were away from the Inn and the Innkeeper Shannon never recieved a call on the main Inn number, text, or in person conversation regarding this issue. It was a heat wave and a fan was placed in your room incase the middle of the day would bring more heat. She was never made aware of this situation and our personal cell phones you attempted to reach were out of service as to our location. If I can suggest in your future travels to contact the Innkeeper in person instead of leaving one message on a cell phone. In regards to your attack on John being from NY, your check in actually appeared to be a pleasant situation yet you feel it appropriate to condemn him for being raised in NY. John treats everyone with respect that does the same to him. We are a Century Old Inn that has no desire to put Keurigs and mini frigs in the rooms and if you had veiwed our website you would have fournd that we do not offer either as we provide Ice as needed to our guests as well as fresh coffee in the morning. Our website also clearly explains we offer one daily entree. It is sounding like a hotel would have better suited your needs. I am truly sorry you left so unhappy and decided to vent your frustrations online, I truly wish you had reached out to our Innkeeper earlier while you were at the Inn so the issue could have been addressed. Debbie

The White House was great and did not disappoint! Much care is given in every detail. The rooms are decorated in colonial period art and decor and very clean. The breakfasts are delicious and meticulously placed upon each plate. The gardens outside are absolutely beautiful! We thoroughly enjoyed our time at The White House!

We stayed in the Kennedy bed chambers for two nights while on vacation to DC and Virginia. The room was very clean and lovely. The bed was comfortable although high up off the ground. Linens & towels were high quality. A delicious breakfast was served every morning at 9 AM. I highly recommend staying there. The Kennedy room was modern and updated and on a second floor, so be sure you can climb upstairs. We were looking forward to meeting the owners, but they were on vacation. Shannon was filling in. She was very nice, although we didn’t get to talk to her as much as I wanted to talk to the owners. I had read about them in previous reviews and how friendly they were. The other guests that we met at breakfast were friendly and it was a great experience. Highly recommend.

The Inn and our room (Lincoln) were very comfortable, beautifully and inventively decorated around the Presidential theme. There are lovely places, outdoors and inside, to relax after a day of touring the local sites. The breakfasts are superb (just walk off the calories!); the bed was more comfortable than our own; Debbie and John are fun and welcoming hosts to all who walk through their doors. They gave great advice for places to explore - rain or shine - and for restaurants (you won't regret having listened carefully to their suggestions). We look forward to our chance to return.
