We stayed for 6 days as part of a 2 week booking for my Aunt’s birthday as a large family group, maximum of 27 adults and 1 child. We booked out all of the accommodation room and made use of the communal areas. The decor throughout is quirky & original. Maurizio the Owner & Andrea were really accommodating and helpful with their local knowledgeable! There is plenty of off-street parking for several cars. There is a local large Gala supermarket a short 5 minute drive away in Città di Castello & a small village shop around the corner from the B&B. Most of the rooms have either freestanding A/C units or fans, some have showers and some have jacuzzi baths. There is an outside hot tub and two small pools. There is a big communal room and a large dining area under a canopy or if the weather is inclement. It was organised with the owners to cook 27 guests a 3 course dinner. It was delicious! There is a well-equipped communal kitchen & an outdoor pizza oven. If you stay during August/September we would highly recommend using a strong insect repellent or burning citronella candles as most of our group got frequently bitten the tiger mosquitos! I would recommend either bringing antihistamine tablets/cream & insect repellent spray/plug-in with you or purchasing from a local pharmacy/supermarket!

This former convent has been turned into a fine 'residenza d'epoca'. It is full of character, full of old furniture, lots of books and prints. Our room was huge, with a spacious balcony and rather small bathroom with shower. The mezzanine contained a jaccuzzi we were not supposed to use. The pool (annex poolhouse with shower) was very agreeable and cool. An old place like this will show tiredness: a window that does not open or close very easily, a showertub that does not empty as quickly as you would like, ets. You suffer them gladly, as they are few and outweighed wy the charm of the place. We used Biribino as a base to explore Citta di Castello (you do not need a lot of time there) and its surrounding countryside and villages (Citerna and Monte Maria Tiberina are very much worth the gorgeous drive) Reception by the owner is very warm but his English and our Italian were too limited for more than basic exchanges. The landlady's English is good enough to help you out, e.g. on a talk about the place's very interesting history and the surroundings. Breakfast was served in the fine drawing room at a common table: mainly sweet delicacies on offer, but a choice of cheese and meat. Second helpings provided. A full Dinner was cooked on very short notice and served on the veranda . Wine and were OK at 25 Euro a head We would love to have had more time to stay at the place, e.g. to enjoy the excellent sitting room or the cool veranda.

We stayed at this Agriturismo for two nights and it was ok except that our room was spread over two floors...the bedroom on the third floor and the sitting room (with a jacuzzi smack in the middle of it) along with the bathroom was up yet another flight of stairs. At least they were connected by stairs within the unit. We would not have stayed if we hadn't prepaid for the two nights. The owner might have been more forthcoming about the steep stairs. Otherwise generally ok, nice old Italian architectural character, friendly owner and his family, satisfying breakfast, and the pig is fun.

We used Il Biribino as our home base to tour Umbria and southern Tuscany. After being met at the door by Peppa the house pet potbellied pig, we were treated like family. Maurizio and his family did everything in their power to make us feel welcome. We were very lucky to share our time there with some other wonderful guests! Great food, an amazing breakfast buffet, wine on request made it feel like home. We had a room with a jacuzzi in the loft, and everything worked just fine. Sure, the shower is small by American standards, but it functioned just fine. For us, the location was perfect with easy access to the highway yet just enough out of town for the peace of the country. Town is a 5 minute drive away for anything you might need or for other food options. Maurizio made sure everything we wanted or needed was seen to and we enjoyed our conversations together!! If we head back that way we will be sure to stop by and say hello if not stay there again!!
