Wonderful island, very peaceful, beautiful in fact, with lovely people, however this is definitely not the hotel for anyone who likes to sleet between 2am and 5am. The local youngsters congregate around the port, outside the Hotel Aragona and shout, and scream for hours. No idea why they are out at this time but it’s a regular thing, not just weekends. The hotel say they have called the police but they are not interested. You would have thought that an island which relies on tourism for survival would have strict laws and would act. Apparently not. Will miss Ischia, but not between 2and 5am ☹️

We are currently staying at the aragona palace hotel in room 201 for our 30th anniversary, the hotel is spotless, all the staff are so welcoming & accommodating, from the receptionists, waitresses to the efficient 'magic' maintenance man, it is in an ideal position for the harbour, shops, and beach within a 5min walk, they also have an arrangement with one of the beachfronts friendliest restaurant where you get free sunbeds. The menu has a varied choice of Italian dishes, which you pre order at breakfast, and fruit & pastries are plentiful at breakfast lunch and dinner. A day at the Poseidon gardens thermal pools is a must, with pools from 15'-40'. we would highly recommend this hotel and the most beautiful island of ischia,

Great central location - at the port and right near the shops, restaurants and beach. Long walk to the castle but it was well worth seeing. We had a big room at the front. Spotlessly clean very dated but adequate. Very noisy from the port and also very thin walls. You will hear neighbours tv and even snoring! Take ear plugs or you won’t sleep. We had half board. Loads of choice at breakfast. Delicious pastries and cakes. Small amount of hot food and apparently you can order an omelette. Dinner consisted of buffet appetisers - the same things most days, then you choose 2 courses from a menu and buffet dessert with ice cream and semi freddo on order. Food choices were different every day. It was old fashioned traditional Italian fayre and we were happy with this. Staff were very friendly and helpful. Rooftop pool area was always quiet with stunning views. Went to the thermal pool most days. Tired facilities but the warm water and jets were brilliant after a busy day. Also has a small sauna area. Mint tea and cakes after were a great touch. Take towels from your room and the cleaner will replace. You have to wear a swim cap or they provide shower caps at spa reception. Don’t book trips through the hotel. We booked an island tour and got up early and walked to meeting point down the road. Waited 15 mins and walked back only for reception to tell us it had been cancelled but they forgot to let us know. Messed up our day with no more bus tours on offer during our stay. Recommend you walk 2 mins along the port where there’s a tour shop who seem much more professional. We also got a bus to the gardens near Forio. Beautiful. Bus station another few minutes along behind the port. All in all we had a good trip. Ischia is beautiful with enough things to do. Aragona Palace is a 3 star hotel with some really good points buts also some areas for improvement. We are not fussy travellers and it met our expectations.

From arriving at reception to our departure the whole experience of our stay was top rate. Well appointed room and the breakfast and dinner were excellent and well presented by the staff. I’d mention Manuela, Raphaela and Josephine in particular as they made our stay very memorable. The hotel has many features including rooftop and indoor pool with spa. We were in room 201 which was excellent with a large balcony and harbour view. I’d certainly put this hotel at the top of my list for a visit.

Well located hotel with friendly staff - particularly in the restaurant. Quite noisy on the harbour side....although I think we were unlucky with our neighbours who liked the TV on and doors and shutters open - all the time and loud. Nice little indoor thermal pool. Roof terrace excellent, very spacious, loads of sun loungers. Food was OK although it was a bit samey after a day or two. You can have either lunch or dinner and are expected to choose from the menu during breakfast.
