We went to Ischia only for one night and Pagoda was a perfect place to stay. Close from the harbour. All the staff were so nice. We arrived before check in time but we could use all the facilities at the hotell. When the room was ready they called us. The room was clean and nice. I would definitly come back to Pagoda if I will come back to Ischia. …
Really great little hotel. Friendly staff. Great English (helpful for us ignorant English speakers!) and kept very clean. Location wise you are a short stroll away from Ischia Port, where you get a hydrofoil passenger ferry from Naples' Beverello Port. There are lots of great restaurants in the harbour and a bus station. Be warned... The buses get RAMMED. (Expect some #metoo moments!) We were in a room with a patio/sun terrace which had a sea view and overlooked the pool. The pool was very cold but clean. You could also walk down to the sea, not really a beach as you climbed straight down into the sea. Keeping four stars because of the location, cleanliness, friendliness of staff, size of the room, proximity to the sea and good facilities (like the beach bar...). Losing a star because there were certain finesses that the room and facilities could have had to get up a level... - Cracked sink - Towels not always being replaced -Blinds not being secured so flapped in the wind -No working outside light -Jacuzzis not working (it doesn't take a whole week to repair something!) -Mattress really not comfortable (as a side sleeper) but survivable for a week. Overall a really good little hotel that I wouldn't hesitate to recommend to friends looking for a lovely hotel in this lovely island that the hordes of tourists haven't yet discovered. …
We booked the hotel v last minute, after our previous hotel booking was cancelled. Our room was basic, with an aged but good fridge, TV and a decent air con unit. The bathroom was clean but v tired, and in need of an upgrade. Our room (Room 70) only had low energy power sockets, meaning travel adapters were useless. For the 21st century traveller, with mobile phone/iPod etc, this was far from ideal. There is a charging point in the breakfast area, but this meant having to sit and wait for your phone to charge up. The pool area, sun lounging areas, and direct sea access is fantastic, and is a real selling point of the hotel. You are a 5 minute walk from the port, and central bus terminal, which is very handy. Ask at the reception desk about your trips; the ladies we spoke to were more than happy to assist, and gave us a discount coupon for our entry to Negombo. The hotel itself recognises its need for an upgrade, and this was reflected in the feedback questionnaire left for the holiday makers to complete. The hotel reviews on here are accurate - the hotel is firmly a 3* hotel in my opinion. That being said, the sun terrace, the views of Ischia and the direct sea access make this a hotel with much much more potential - I look forward to seeing how the hotel looks once renovations are complete. Thanks to the team at Reception for their hospitality, and help :)…
This is really well located. We had a room with it’s owe terrace and incredible views-all good. The room was furnished with ikea type furniture. The bathroom includes a very tight, and leaky shower. In this tiny shower they mounted one of those rain shower heads that don’t work in the tiny enclosure-getting water everywhere, and no room to move around as one is bathing. The room was furnished with a mini fridge which was nice. But the drinking cups they provide you with are those skimpy, plastic wrapped, disposable cups-which the housekeeping doesn’t replace. This is stingy. Another stingy thing is that you have to pay 5€ for a beach towel to rent-even though it’s a resort. I didn’t schlep my own towel, and I wanted to use the pool and beach. So this seems especially stingy. Another concern that the access to the sea is by rusty and slimy ladders, and are treacherous. These should be maintained or replaced. The restaurant and bar do seem to be uneven for service. But-the AC was terrific, and the breakfast was good too. And the bed was comfortable, but the bedding is als pretty stingy too.…
The location is amazing, a few steps to the sea, beautiful views, a decent pool and a short walk to the ferry and bus depot for buses across the island. The marina is just a few minutes walk and has a good choice of restaurants. The rooms are ok, clean & functional. The room with terrace looking out to the pool was a reasonable size but not luxurious. The rooms are definitely only 3* but the gem of this hotel is the outside space, not the rooms. Jacuzzis on the roof terrace were a nice extra, and there are so many open spaces there was always somewhere to find a sunbed. Reception staff were friendly and helpful, the beach bar was a bit hit and miss, sometimes staffed, often no sign of any staff even though it was open. …
