Friendly welcome. Clean room and bed linen. Room had a bit of a musty smell which went away once we opened the window. Breakfast acceptable although flies around cheese and meat. Close to resort centre which was lively with a variety of eating and drinking places.
Friendly, helpful staff. Bike storage and a car park. The hotel was clean and had a lovely bar/restaurant. The rooms are located in a couple of different buildings but all interconnected. The swimming pool is just across the road next to the beautiful beach. The location of the hotel is ideal for strolling into the village centre,
Picked the hotel off the internet based on location and other reviews. It’s a decent place with really friendly and helpful staff. The basic rooms are just that, but clean and comfortable. Upgrade to the superior rooms if you can. I thought the rooms were expensive for what they are, but it was high season so fair enough. Views are first of the car park (can’t help thinking the hotel should be where the car park is) but then of the beach which is really nice and only 50 yards away. The town centre is only five minutes’ walk away. Even better beach, with surfing, is only ten minutes’ drive away at La Terriere.
We have just enjoyed a few days stay at this fabulous small hotel in La Tranche. The location of the hotel is excellent, with great onsite complimentary parking which is such a bonus in this lovely seaside town. Just a short walk to the Restaurants and cafes and right on the beach front, couldn’t be better. Although we didn’t use it, the indoor pool and spa looked very nice and our 1st floor bedroom was extremely comfortable and very importantly to us, lovely and quiet. But what stood out to us more than anything about this lovely hotel, was the friendliness and helpfulness of the staff which started with the warm welcome on arrival. The ladies on the front desk were also so helpful in assisting us with our “return to the UK” documentation / COVID tests etc, a real life saver for us! We are really looking forward to returning to the Hotel Les Dunes again soon and would highly recommend you give it a try if travelling to this delightful area.…
Friendly, helpful staff. The hotel is clean. There is a good choice for breakfast. Thank you you made us as English feel welcome. The car park was easy to access too. Close to centre and shops bar restaurants.
Great location across from the beach and a short walk to the center with restaurants, bars etc. A clean modern hotel with friendly service and a superb covered heated pool plus spa (extra cost) with sun loungers was a fabulous advantage. Bikes could be rented and cocktails etc. enjoyed at the bar or with room service. Couldn’t fault the hotel and we liked our room 31 with its own patio terrace. La tranche sue mer is a wonderful small picturesque seaside village with a good array of restaurants, bars, shops, ice cream cafes etc. and the beaches are to die for and so clean. Special mention to our favorite pub the starfish and it’s English owner for the music and football, cocktails at Equipage, apéro at La Villa with the best views in the area and a great vibe.
Nice location...Good breakfast..Would have like aone of the rooms with a sea view, but beggars can't be choosers. We had the last room . A family room for just the two of us.The Saturday market in La Tranche is a must and is an easy walk from the Hotel. Plenty of bars & restaurants too.
We stayed 2 nights and will definitely be back. It was within short walking distance to the restaurants and shops either along the beach or on sidewalks. It was also just enough away so that it was quite at night and we had two very restful nights sleep. We stayed in the family comfort room which had a small separation so the kids could sleep easily while we were still on our phones and chatting. The service for snacks and drinks next to the beach or just outside the hotel was such a treat and meant we didn’t have to move far from the beach for a simple lunch. We loved this gem of a family run hotel and would highly recommend for families.
This is the second year running that we have stayed in this hotel, and we highly recommend it! The location is fantastic! 30 metres from the sea, and a short walking distance from the town centre full of bars, restaurants and shops for all tastes. We, now, have our favourite room! We definitely will go again as soon as we can. One minor issue was the snacks. We have now made some suggestions, and we hope that the provision will improve in the future. If you fancy a relaxed few days or a longer week, no hesitation: go for this little marvel in Vendee!
Have stayed at the hotel on a number of occasions over the years and always find the owners and staff most friendly and welcoming. Rooms are clean and well presented with options available to cater for differing budgets Only personal regret is that it no longer has a restaurant.
