Detailed Reviews
Booked a two night stay here with friends, but ended up extending our stay and I would have stayed forever if it was possible!
We started off in the standard double rooms, which were perfectly nice, well equipped and great value. I then moved in to one of the bungalows, which was another level! Sooooo lovely, traditional Thai, very pretty and massive king bed. They also have a tree house, which looked pretty cool!
There is a small pool, which is perfect for cooling off and a pretty bar area.
The owner, Marcel and his wife (sorry, didn’t catch her name) were great hosts, very helpful and friendly. We all got our laundry done here and we hired bikes from them at a reasonable price.
In walking distance there are a few bars and eateries, as well as a supermarket, but you are only five minutes on the bike from the much busier White Sands resort.
Thank you for a great stay, I will definitely be back, hopefully in the not too distant future 😊

We really enjoyed our stay at Macura Resort. The area is very nice, green and well mantained. The bungalows were spacious and clean. Great location just a few steps to the main road, but in a very quiet and peaceful area. Sweet and smiling staff. There is a great restaurant next to the resort. We would love to come back in our next visit to Thailand.

I can't understand the good reviews.
We booked 10 nights and then found on arrival that the pool was totally dirty and the water was green.
The terrace was freshly painted with paint and it smelled like paint everywhere. My girlfriend then developed a severe headache. The room was very small and there were almost no storage facilities and no closet. Everything was very worn out. Apparently we were the only guests as well. I then contacted the owner and told him I wanted to change the hotel for the reasons. Because of the totally hidden pool he thinks it's because it's been raining a lot lately. He refused that I could withdraw from the contract. I spent one night in this shabby room and changed hotels the next day.

Tidy & beautiful place. Beautiful garden and charming bungalows (house on the tree is the best). If you want a quiet place, it's the place for you. Its walking distance from White Sand beach (20-25mins) and Klong Prao beach (30-35min), yet you do not have to live with the noise & dirt of the tourist center. If you think it’s far, you may rent a motorbike in the resort, or a good mountain bike 20m from it. Great & friendly staff & owners caring for all the guests. Highly recommended!!!

It is conveniently located in a quiet area between two sandy beaches. The cottages are cosy, comfortable , well- eguipped and clean. There is a lovely garden where you can peacefully relax. The staff is very friendly and helpful. I stayed there over a week in mid February and I didn't feel like going back home. In the neighbourhood there is also a very good restaurant so you don't have to worry about anything. Just enjoy it!

I had the pleasure to stay 10 nights at Macura Resort. The place is peaceful, beatiful and very relaxing. If I didn't feel like going to the beach I could hang out in the garden and read a book. The staff are friendly and helpful, the rooms very nice and clean. Breakfast can be had at the location and for dinner I recommend a great restaurant within 1-minute walk. While not right on the beach, I was able to rent a bike and in 5 mins I was at lovely Coconut Beach. I also highly recommend a tour of neighbouring islands with sunbathing and snorkeling opportunities and a hike to Salak Phet; the hike ain't for fainthearted but the views from the top pay it off. The staff can help you get it organized.

Stayed in this property one week.
Bungalow was very clean, homey and nicely decorated. Shower pressure was a bit low but it's holiday so no rush to anywhere. 😊
Free water and cleaning was provided daily and soft drinks, beer and snacks was available on extra charge in good price.
Resort also rents motorbikes 200 Thb per day but after four days they charged from me 150 Thb per. Laundry service was fast. Left laundry in a morning and got it back same evening.
They also serve few different breakfast which tasted good and gave a nice kick to my day.
Garden area around resort it's just amazing as older hard woeking gardener took care it every single day.
Service staff spoke good English and was always ready to help if anything was needed.
Highly recommended!

We stayed at Macura Resort for six nights in December 2018 before heading off to Koh Mak in the south. We found the Macura resort to be well maintained and friendly with pleasant staff and owners on hand to help answer any questions / bookings we had.
The resort itself is away from all of the hustle and bustle of the tourist areas and definitely requires you to hire a motorbike (which we did) or take a taxi to get anywhere. The bungalows are set in a circular pattern looking onto well maintained greenery. You don't hear the noise of the main road and so only have the wildlife to contend with. It's a fair trek to get to the beach but we would recommend going to White Sands Beach rather than down south to Lonely Beach, its less back packer-y unless thats what you're after.
We enjoyed our time at Macura and would definitely return. But if you are looking for social activities at the resort you would need to go elsewhere. The reception area has beers for sale from fridge but there is no bar or restaurant as such, which I guess helps keep the resort quiet and free from parties.
The only negative point of our stay would be the one time we had the breakfast; I opted for boiled eggs and fruit only to find one rock solid (i.e well over done) and the other not cooked at all (it was warm but entirely transparent). The orange juice was great though.
The guys at Macura were awesome at booking us a private car from our stay in Bangkok on short notice and again helped organise the speedboat to Koh Mak. Very much appreciated.
Cheers.
